The owners JD and Troy are so welcoming and friendly and they seem to remember everyone. I got recommendations on wraps, gloves, etc. when I decided I wanted to really get into this. I go 1-2x a week and have really enjoyed getting into a new sport/hobby. The coaches are just the right amount of serious and goofy to keep people learning but also having fun. They do a good job of managing varying class sizes with people at all different levels. I've met a lot of other nice and welcoming members of the gym through the classes too. People of all different ages and backgrounds come here so it's always very diverse with who you are working out around. But everyone seems to fit in and get the attention they need in order to improve their skills. The first class is free so I definitely recommend checking this place out!

I have been a member of several gyms, including multiple CrossFit boxes and yoga studios. I have participated in classes and on my own free weights. I feel like Patrick (XPF creator) has created a regiment that is challenging, but doesn't intend to cause injury or harm. He helps you to meet your full potential, and if you have injuries or sore areas, he helps to target those areas in stretching, foam rolling, and movement changes. I almost feel like I have a trainer and a physical therapist at the same time. All the trainers there are kind, helpful, and highly encouraging, and I have enjoyed every class. There are many options for people who are 100% new to working out and those that have a lot of experience. Classes such as Conditioning, which is a Prime workout, uses a lot of body weight and one arm/leg movements to strengthen your core and keep your body even. Metabolic Burn (Ignite) has a more circuit training aspect with intermittent cardio. Those who attend are regulars, and come as often as we do. I love it and honestly cannot get enough. XPF has a ton of different class times, as well as Yoga and Dance2Fitness classes. All classes have a group limit, and it is usually small. There are also options for Small Group classes, which is an even smaller class size where often the trainer can spend more time with you. I believe he even has 1 on 1 options as well. Honestly, if you are on the fence about this gym, trial it for a month (I think it's still $59 for the first month) and you will be hooked. I wish his program can follow me around everywhere I go!

I usually go to the Strength & Conditioning classes and I like alternating between strength and cardio unlike OTF classes, where you are on the treadmill for 30 min. straight-through (which I think would be horrible for the knees after a while...). Paul is a really nice guy and seems to have a lot of integrity and I have liked the other instructors as well. I do hope they continue to grow and that they can offer additional classes at different times.

When you join you get full access to Mount Vernon Fitness as well and the free classes at both locations taught by their fabulous personal trainers. The spin classes are excellent, and I totally recommend Reese's 30 min Sculpt & Abs class! I've never had any issue waiting to use a machine - the club is almost never crowded. All cardio equipment has individual TVs and there are tons of magazines (perfect if you're anything like me...I can't workout unless I'm distracting myself). When you're done working out, grab yourself a complimentary bath towel and head to the locker room located downstairs - stocked fully with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. If you're just starting to work out, they have a Solid Start program that will teach you all about the equipment and how to use it properly. They also have a special that when you refer friends, you get a month free/12 friends and you get a year free...it's completely unlimited. Lastly, their trainers are incredible - After only a few sessions with Donna, I lost 15lbs in ONE MONTH, just in time to look excellent for this cruise I was going on. I recently worked out with Guy and he completely kicked my butt back into shape. Reese even won Top Trainer in Baltimore Magazine. You can get a free training session when you join the club, and you can check out their profiles online or ask someone who works at the club to recommend one for you. Also they are doing a special program right now called FitClub - focusing on weight loss - you meet up with your trainer 3 times a week for around 6 weeks. That'll get your New Year off right! It's because of the awesome people at Fed Hill Fitness that I stay motivated to workout...I know I would fall into the sea of people at one of those massive gyms and probably wouldn't go nearly as often. It no longer feels as warm or welcoming, which is unfortunate. It is also too small to really continue serving my needs. Too much wait for equipment, gets very crowded upstairs especially when much of the usable space is being occupied by an obnoxiously loud class. You will get tired of hearing the same music on repeat if you come here often. I suggest earbuds and your own playlists. Also, they recently raised the prices and it just isn't worth it anymore. I recently put in my 30 days for cancelation and my husband will be following suit as he doesn't use it often enough to justify the continued cost.
