I have debated whether or not to share this experience, but I ultimately decided that I needed to…read morebecause customer service and how we treat people still matters. I scheduled a self-care day for my birthday. I paid the full $360 through PayPal on July 27, 2026, using the payment option provided through the Reinvent U website. Everything had been discussed and arranged with Ms. Frances, and my appointment was scheduled for August 15. The Friday before my appointment, I received a reminder that showed an amount due. Since I knew I had already paid in full, I immediately sent a screenshot of my PayPal payment. At 6:00 PM, and again at 9:42 PM, I received an email from Ms. Frances telling me to "cancel that payment" because they no longer had access to that account. I was confused and concerned. I had used the payment option that was provided to me through their website. I called. I emailed. I left a voicemail asking her to return my call as early as she could because I understood she was busy. No response. I still got myself together and showed up for my appointment Saturday because, at that point, I had no idea what was actually happening. When I arrived, a very kind young woman at the front tried her best to help me. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her. I waited approximately 40 minutes while Ms. Frances was with a client. Again, I understood that she was busy. But if you already knew there was an issue with my payment and my appointment, why wouldn't you make time to at least come to the front when I arrived and try to work through the issue with me? Instead, I was left standing there for approximately 40 minutes trying to figure out what was going on. And again, I want to be very clear: I was not upset with the young women at the front. They were doing what they could to help me, and one of them was especially kind and tried her best to de-escalate the situation. When Frances finally came out, she walked up to me and said, "Talk to me," while dismissing the two young women who had been trying to assist me. I explained the situation again. Her response was exactly, "Don't you see what's going on here? We are moving." I was honestly dumbfounded. Moving may explain what was happening behind the scenes, but it does not explain the lack of communication with a customer who had already paid in full $360. She then pulled up PayPal to show me that she didn't see a payment. I explained that the payment had been made on July 27th -- not the day before. Her response? "Oh." I told her that I had explained all of this in the emails I had sent. She responded, "I haven't read any of them." At that point, I was doing everything I could to keep my composure. Then came, "But a little $360 ain't worth all this." Maybe $360 isn't a big deal to some people. It was to me. More importantly, this was my birthday self-care day that I had planned and paid for in advance. Ultimately, she asked where she could send my money. I said Cash App, and she refunded me immediately. I withdrew the money immediately because, after everything that had happened, I no longer felt comfortable moving forward. And I know someone will say, "But you got your money back, so what's the big deal?" The money isn't the whole point. The point is how I was treated. I am a customer. I supported your business. I paid in full. When there was an issue with the payment, I provided proof, called, emailed, left a voicemail, and still showed up willing to work things out. I didn't expect perfection. I expected communication, professionalism, and basic kindness. We are all human. Businesses have things happen. Businesses move, systems change, accounts get lost, mistakes happen. I can understand all of that. What I cannot understand is making someone who has already done everything they were supposed to do feel like THEY are the problem for asking questions about their money and their appointment. Wherever life takes us, I believe we have to remember to stay humble and, at the very least, be kind to the people who choose to support us. I got my $360 back. And 2 days later I got an BS apology via email with a video of herself showing her new studio space, hoping that I will come back once they have moved and she will give me a whole $20 off my little $360... But I also got something else: a very clear understanding that this is not a business I feel comfortable supporting again. And sometimes that's the part that matters most. AND IN THE EVENT THAT I NEED TO I CAN AND WILL ATTACH THE AUDIO, VIDEO AND EMAIL THREAD...

I'm liking OTF so far. After seeing how popular OrangeTheory is in Harbor East and Hunt Valley, I…read morewas happy that one opened up near my home. I signed up prior to the gym actually being opened and was able to secure a founders rate which was nice. Still expensive, but cheaper than what it would be if I would have joined post opening day. You do have to purchase their heart rate monitor which some are worn on the chest and others on the arm. I have seen them give out loaner monitors for people trying out the class. These were also discounted prior to the gym opening. The gym is cute. Nice lobby, two showers and two bathrooms. There's a wall full of lockers to store whatever you wont need in class. Onto the studio, bunch of treadmills, rowers, weights, TRX cords and so much more to facilitate your full body workout. Half of the people in the class start with the treadmill while the other half goes back and forth between the rower and weights. Halfway through the class, you switch. I really enjoy seeing my calories burned, heart rate and "splat points" (Splat points are OTF's slang for "Excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC, informally called afterburn)". The idea is that getting your heart rate into the orange zone or red zone for 12-20 minutes induces increased calorie burning after the exercise session.) up on the screen with the other people in class. It's not a competition, I know I know. But it definitely gives you motivation to pick up the pace and work harder (as long as you're not feeling hurt or sick). The coaches have been great so far. My favorites are Jesse, Danielle and Taryne (who's class I'm still sore from. Sad face). I'd like to take a class with Peju but that 6AM ain't for me lol. I'm not too sure how long I'll keep my membership. Don't get me wrong, it is a GREAT work out. But it's expensive AF. I honestly don't see how it's beneficial if you really want to lose weight/body fat but can only commit to a 4 or 8 pack. 8 classes a month isn't doing anything for anybody. There is an unlimited class option but I don't have unlimited class money LOL. Especially since I have a membership at another gym already. I've worn my OTF monitor to my other gym and I am able to burn even more calories and splat points on my own just fine.

I have been a member with OTF for 3 years now and have never been more unhappy than I am currently…read more The turnover rate at OTF is very high with front desk and coach staff and it is primarily with men and women of color. As a woman of color myself, representation matters and IS important. Peju is my favorite coaches at OTF, but Peju and Ivii have recently been fired. The only two women of color coaches who play hip hop and r&b are no longer there and without any explanation. The gym portrays false advertisement by posting client reviews on instagram just this week which state "hip hop music played in the gym provides motivation", but then fires the only two coaches who play that musical genre. Peju has been extremely important to my fitness journey and I have confided in her about my fitness goals. It is only because of her that I have gotten this far. It is disheartening to know that my main motivational coach has been fired and no one said anything. Both women of color coaches were replaced with all Caucasian women and one woman of color but the musical genre across the board is pop and pop rock. If I want to hear that the entire class (which I don't) I can go to LA fitness. Mixing the genres up with pop, rock, hip hop and r&b is what keeps me coming back. I don't know where Peju is, but I will be calling all gyms in the surrounding areas looking for where she ends up teaching. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. I pay OTF a large sum of money for the premier membership and will not stay somewhere that treats employees like this, and lacks adequate representation.

So having modified workout options is important to me. He has been conscious of working around injuries and building muscle groups to prevent something much needed in my early 40s! He makes the workouts enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding. He also challenges me to assess all areas of my life, for the best possible outcomes (in a safe and nonjudgemental way). That means planning my workout objectives, looking at my eating habits as well the spiritual and mental aspects of my life- (because it all coincides)! He was extremely knowledgeable and very supportive. One of the most important qualities I look for in a trainer is how much he/she emphasizes on the execution of proper form and techniques. Ray focused a lot on that. He taught me that if you do not perform the workouts correctly, you are not getting the maximum effects and you are putting yourself at risk for injuries; therefore delaying your progress. Unfortunately, I moved to a different state a few years ago. Every year, I would come back to MD just to train with him for a week. Yes, you read that correctly! Yes, I come back to MD for the sole purpose of training with Ray Scott. He is that good! I'm sure I can find another trainer where I am. There's tons of them where I am. But there's no Ray Scott. Even though I don't train with Ray anymore since I'm 2,000 miles away, he still sends me a text every now and then to ask how my workouts are going and if I am eating properly. Once you are his client, no matter where you are, what you are doing, Ray will always be there for you supporting you 100%! I can guarantee you no one will invest in your physical fitness they way Ray does. He puts so much time and effort getting you to where you want to be. Your workouts will be tailored specifically to you so you will see results quickly but you will be safe and injury free. As long as you're honest with him, tell him your goals, your injuries if you have any, and everything will fall into place. Trust the process!

Was awesome that this was incorporated into the workout - Crossfit/bootcamp like equipment like the sled, ropes, rowing machine, and boxes for jumping. Neat because I haven't had the opportunity to do workouts with those sorts of materials before and I really enjoyed it - Kettlebells - another Crossfit type workout item that I LOVE and they ran a good type of challenging workout with these.
