Burger Physical Therapy - How I feel

Burger Physical Therapy

(36 reviews)

If I could give a higher rating, I would. I had a rather lengthy therapy at Burgess. My therapist,…read moreMarisa, was excellent in every way. She was very exacting and thorough in her explanations of what she was doing and what I needed to do on my own. I feel my recovery is a direct result if that . I also received care from Lily, Adam, and Gabe, and they were excellent as well. Kellie at the front desk is gracious and welcoming. The wait is never long, and the facility is sparkling clean.

I love this place. And this place is made up of great and responsive people who are really intent…read moreon getting you back on your feet and moving again. My initial visit was great. The physical therapist assigned to me was very knowlegeable and listened very well to all my aches and pains. Unfortunately, my rheumatologist only specified my knees, so there was where my PT concentrated on. I have been to therapy 3 times already (of an expected 6 treatment span). So far so good! My range of motion has improved, the pain is still nagging me a little, but I know it'll all get better with time! The place is very nice and clean. Inviting. And the staff are all above par. The treatment areas are all well-lit. And the exercise machines and other equipment are amply spaced...a lot of breathing room here. Even on their busy days, there is still a lot of room available for the patients and the staff. If you have the need for physical therapy and you insurance allows, Burger Physical Therapy is a great place to go!

Ryan's Rolfing - Ryan Rolfing

Ryan's Rolfing

This man has the touch of a God and is totally my man crush Monday. No lie. Rolfing is like…read moremyofascial release or a deep tissue massage without the pain. LOCATION: Tucked away is a small outlet near Elvas Ave a few blocks from the Mimosa House. DECOR: In a nice office/room inside a physical therapy clinic. Minimalistic and cozy. PRICE: About $100-$150 depending on each clients needs. STAFF: Ryan Caputi is the owner/operator and not only has he helped me with a physical disability obtained in the military and helped in a way any other treatments haven't, he has taught me so much more about diet and sleep just based on who he is as a person and how he loves his life. I really feel better physically and mentally by the time I leave. EXPERIENCE: Let me tell you about the day I nearly came to tears after I give you some context. I have been dealing with degenerative disc disease, arthritis, and spinal stenosis with most of the pain stemming from my lower back. It negatively effects my ability to hinge and rotate at the waist as well as my ability to participate in most sports. So first we work on my lower back. Ryan's touch is light. Too light for me. I'm thinking "this can't possibly do anything. Doesn't feel like he's deep enough," but I just went with it. Next, Ryan says he'll work on my psoas tendon which is usually cause for a lot of hip and lower back pain. In order to do this, he must go through my stomach. First off, hell no! I can't even set my own hand on my stomach when I'm laying down because it's so sensitive. But it's the only way. So here it goes. I breathe deeply and slowly to prepare for the discomfort, but there was none. He was literally pressing through by stomach and I didn't die. I was in disbelief. We finally finish with that portion and Ryan asks me to sit up when I'm ready and then stand up. I sit up and wait a minute like usual. Then I stand up and can't believe what just happened so I had to sit down and stand up again to make sure it wasn't a fluke. For the first time in almost 10 years I stood up WITHOUT ANY PAIN. To no exaggeration, I had to fight the tears back. The next day I had a spin class and could feel soreness in my muscles. The Rolfing had gotten much deeper than I thought. After the class my muscles felt great. After the class, everyone wanted a fitness photo. So I do the splits which I have been able to do for a while, but not without stretching beforehand. Not only that, when I jumped up (and yes. I do mean JUMPED UP) off the ground, I couldn't even form words. I was in a time warp envisioning my past physical trauma slipping away. Now, my psoas is still putting up a fight over time, but I finally know exactly what is causing the most pain and I feel more optimistic about the future of my physical health than ever before!

I had my first session yesterday and am already feeling my body be more flexible and having much…read morebetter standing posture. I only wish I had signed up for additional sessions before the coming weeks were all booked.
