I love this place. And this place is made up of great and responsive people who are really intent on getting you back on your feet and moving again. My initial visit was great. The physical therapist assigned to me was very knowlegeable and listened very well to all my aches and pains. Unfortunately, my rheumatologist only specified my knees, so there was where my PT concentrated on. I have been to therapy 3 times already (of an expected 6 treatment span). So far so good! My range of motion has improved, the pain is still nagging me a little, but I know it'll all get better with time! The place is very nice and clean. Inviting. And the staff are all above par. The treatment areas are all well-lit. And the exercise machines and other equipment are amply spaced...a lot of breathing room here. Even on their busy days, there is still a lot of room available for the patients and the staff. If you have the need for physical therapy and you insurance allows, Burger Physical Therapy is a great place to go! read more

If I could give a higher rating, I would. I had a rather lengthy therapy at Burgess. My therapist, Marisa, was excellent in every way. She was very exacting and thorough in her explanations of what she was doing and what I needed to do on my own. I feel my recovery is a direct result if that . I also received care from Lily, Adam, and Gabe, and they were excellent as well. Kellie at the front desk is gracious and welcoming. I can't thank them enough. A life-changer. It was Kevin that worked with me and I was getting severe neck and shoulder spasms. I also am a neck cancer survivor 8 years free and radiation had left me with "wooden neck" with limited motion and difficulty swallowing. I couldn't turn far enough to look a out back window of my car. After 6-8 appointments I realized the range of motion had increased to normal I.e. I could look out back window of my car. Also swallowing difficulty was greatly diminished. Those weren't even our goals. Anyway the neck spasms happen on race days with my son and me doing mechanical things over the course of a day and by the end of each day I was useless from neck and shoulder spasms. I sustained an injury known as plantar fasciitis due to my over excessive zeal for running. Thankfully just recently I finally got approved by my insurance for a treatment for my feet. It's my fifth visit to this place for the treatments and so far I worked with 4 different therapists, and I have to say every single one has been pleasant and professional. They do try to accommodate your request and it's always a thin line between what a patient thinks he needs and what is actually needed. But to explain and navigate to a patient as well as keep the patient happy - can take a lot of patience. This place definitely has it. Staff was was nice. Not enough time with Physical Therapist (usually less than 10 minutes), and the Therapy Assistants had multiple patients to help . Often, I waited for the Therapy Assistant to tell me the next exercise. It's a very production type of business. I followed the Therapist exercise plan for home and made very little progress. I never missed an appointment. I switched to another Physical Therapy Office near my home and the progress is amazing. My suggestion is find a Physical Therapist that listens to your unique needs, makes sure you are properly doing the exercises and measures your progress during each appointment so changes can be made if necessary. Six months ago I had terrific care post rotator cuff surgery at Burger PT. Now after a confirmed referral for lower back pain, they can't get their act together. I have made 6 phone calls in less than two weeks to their centralized scheduling office and their Folsom clinic. They claim not to have the PCP referral but I confirmed it with the PCP office with the exact date and time transmitted. And they won't schedule an appt without the faxed referral in hand (Faxes? Really? Is this 1990?). So my therapy is delayed at least two weeks. What good is it to have competent therapists when your referral and scheduling department won't facilitate access to treatment? I love burger therapy office..... I look forward attending my therapy! I love the office assistants in front office. They all have great customer service and very understanding to your pain ! The doctor staff shows u d to gain you independence and makes all my pain go away ! All u have to is do regular exercises daily ! I am amazed I felt difference! I feel like I have brand new knee!!!!! If I could leave 0 stars I would. On January 4th I got a referral from my doctor to be treated at Burger Physical Therapy. I waited a few days before calling to schedule to give the office time to process my referral that was faxed over on January 4th. I called on January 8th where I was told they didn't have the referral and nothing could be done until they had it. I informed the staff member I was shocked they hadn't received yet but asked if I could take pictures of the copy of the referral I had and send it in. I was told that would suffice. I sent an email including my full name, date of birth, who the referring doctor was and pictures of the referral. A woman named Evelyn responded and kindly told me that the referral was received, it would be uploaded, and someone would call me to schedule. I responded and kindly asked if they could verify my insurance benefits within their office prior to schedule an appointment. A woman named Stacy responded letting me know that they are not able to verify my insurance before I come in and that it would be done when I come in. She told me to call my insurance for my benefits; however, myself calling and their office calling are two different things. The office calling would give my most accurate benefit for their facility due to providing information like Tax ID and NPI. While I wasn't pleased with the responses I was given, I still figured I would give them a chance to call, get me scheduled, and then go over my benefits in office before I was treated. Unfortunately, this didn't happen. Stacey emailed me again and informed me that they didn't have the referral and that the one I provided doesn't have the doctor's diagnosis codes on it (which is correct). She asked for me to reach out to my referring doctor again and have them resend the referral. I did just that and got a voicemail from my referring doctor letting me know it had been sent for a second time. So, I waited for Burger Physical Therapy to call me. It is now January 16th and I still haven't heard from the office. It is clear that the office does not have staff trained on how to properly handle referrals and they couldn't care less about brining a new patient in. I am very disappointed in how all of this was handled. I was hesitant to write this review as I handle referrals and insurance verifications for a medical office myself so I understand how it works and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but I guess I was wrong. My mother broke both of her hips. She rehabbed at Burger Physical Therapy both times. She loved going to therapy because they made her feel like she was part of the family. Felicia and Mark were her therapists. They were both attentive and excellent at helping my mom get back on her feet. The entire staff was kind to her and made her feel so welcome every time she went in for therapy. They were also kind to my father who would take her to her appointments and wait for her in the lobby. He always looked forward to seeing Kellie and Rodra, the two ladies that ran the front desk. I went to Burger PT for a pain in my hip that didn't seem diagnosable. After about 2 months of diligent work I'm happy to say I am pain free! The staff at Burger are excellent. Leah in particular helped me learn exercises and stretches that were the exact right ones for my body. Other therapies were also effective. I hurt my back putting up Christmas decorations so severely that I've had days I could not walk. Today was my first appointment at Burger Physical Therapy and I couldn't be more pleased. I saw Dr Dave and he is an incredible professional and really knows his stuff. After evaluating where the challenge is and that it is muscular (not a skeletal) injury, we went to work. I have some work ahead of me, but I walked out feeling better (and more upright) than I have since the injury. My daughter is receiving physical therapy from Sara. Sara is doing a great job and is very personable. I would like to give Sara 5 stars but I'm not as happy with Burger itself. I've used them twice before and was not very happy with them. The other therapists I've seen are usually working with multiple people and leave you feeling ignored. It was difficult to get appointments at times that worked with my job schedule. I never felt like I got much benefit from the sessions. read more

I am highly disappointed with this place. My ortho surgeon warned me that he heard that they sucked, but I went because: my co-worker liked it, it was close to work, and ROC (my doc's recommendation) didn't return my calls until days later. I went there for 6 visits and each time I was feeling more and more that I did not like it there. I felt confident after my initial consultation that it was an alright place. They told me that I had a $20 co-pay. Aside from the "Water" work (the lady who worked the pool was genuinely nice and reminded me of a pregnant Gisele Bundchen), I didn't really like any of them. For the "Land" PT, I was only seen once by a real actual Physical Therapist. Other times were administered by an assistant. I always felt short changed. Twice, all I got was a 20-minute rub down on my ankle using what looked like a modified butter knife. And that was after waiting 20 minutes! That last time was the last straw! I immediately called ROC on my way home and they took down my insurance info and called me the next day. Lo and behold - I did not have any insurance coverage left (because my chiro was billing to it without my knowledge - another story- chiro turned out to be a stand up guy)!!! They never verified my insurance even tho they acted like they did and gave me a print out and schedule. I called Burger and talked to the billing lady several times - a very unpleasant, uncaring person - they wouldn't have even found out until months later if I hadn't called them, out of concern and courtesy. She said it was my responsibility to know my insurance coverage. I ended up having to pay out of pocket. She basically threatened me with Collections right off the bat. I don't recommend this place!! Going to physical therapy can be a difficult thing for someone that rarely injures themselves. I've been here now for two different injuries and each time I have received great service. The therapist take time explaining the rehab process and are very hands on. Appointment process is super easy as they try to book enough out front so you don't have to wait to get in. I've learned quite a bit about stretches, rehabbing sore tendons, muscles, etc. I am looking forward to getting stronger and fully recovered with this process. My knee had been hurting for 10 years. Physical therapy at Kaiser was terrible and no results. My Kaiser just prescribed Vicodin and dismissed me. I refused to take any pain killers. I tried yoga, personal trainers and Pilates. My pain worsened. No mattress helped. My sleep was interrupted as I tossed and turned all night. Finally, I switched health coverage and my new doctor prescribed physical therapy. Given my experience at Kaiser, I was not a believer. The evaluation at Burger didn't make me a believer. I was running late for my first appointment and was courteously moved to a later appointment. My first session was tough. My muscles burned. I was exhausted and iced down. My knee ached has I fell asleep that night. But when I awakened...no pain! For the first time in 10 years. My 53 year old knee felt like a 20 year old knee. I've been attending Burger, on advice of my primary care physician, for a couple months. I think it is excellent. I have never had to wait for my appointment, they are flexible with cancellations, and good about calling if you are on a wait list for a day. My therapist, Megan, is superb and I feel that I have truly benefited from my sessions. I have never worked with an assistant in lieu of Megan; I always have one on one time for often times longer than the scheduled appointment. I have also been provided with good at home recommendations to continue my rehabilitation on my own time as well. The facility is open for extended hours, which is great for coordinating with a work schedule. The staff are all very helpful, and I would recommend their services. read more

I don't get the negative reviews- I don't. For the first time since I hurt my back, I feel like someone actually cares about me getting BETTER. Not just getting me in there and spending money, I feel like they care that I make progress. After weeks of disappointment and pain, there's no words to describe what it feels like to have someone understand you finally. Right on my first visit they gave me this impression by telling me they were here to TEACH me how to take care of myself while I'm injured, and showed me a technique for bracing myself that has been invaluable. I can't stand up on my own easily or roll over while laying down, and what Sarah taught me has made a world of difference. Getting into the pool was like a whole new world, they knew exactly how to take my pain (a six with painkillers no less) and get it to an actual, honest to god ZERO for the first time in literal weeks. I nearly cried. I love the energy here, I love the devotion, and I love that they're teaching me instead of making me dependant on seeing them for goodness knows how long. After three weeks of pure misery, I finally feel like I have hope. I see the other reviewers complaining about how long it takes for treatment- well guess what? Shockingly, when you're here, you're not the only person being seen. I know it's hard to believe the world doesn't revolve around you, but maybe having some patience for slow-moving folks like me that need a little extra attention might do you some good. My next appointment is tomorrow, and I can't wait to learn more. Where before I felt like recovery was a million miles away, Burger and Sarah have put it within arms reach. I've actually been to Burger a few times. I hurt my back a little while back. Burger was the 2nd place I went to. I wasn't happy with the first, because I felt like they just gave me a couple of exercises and sent me on my way. At Burger, they really seemed to care about their work. They helped me figure out what was putting strain on my back, turns out I was lifting and turning with my daughter in my arms - not a good thing to do. They gave me several back strengthening and stretching exercises to do. I still use those exercises now. The therapist and entire staff was very friendly and informative. Both of my daughters have been to their pediatrics clinic, as well. My youngest had torticullis (her muscles on one side were stronger than the other, so she would use her dominant muscles, causing her to keep her head turned to only one side instead of straight or turning to the other). A therapist, named Judy, helped us several times. My daughter is perfect now, because Judy worked with us until she was better. I'm so thankful for her time and care. My oldest daughter had some sensory issues - certain sounds, textures, foods really bothered her. We saw another therapist, names Dorina. She was great and my daughter loved her. She still asks now to go see Rina. Dorina knows kids and how to help them. My daughter has really developed since then. She would only eat oatmeal and couldn't handle any sensory overloads. Now, she runs and screams and eats like all the other kids. I have a friend that took their pregnancy aquatics class a few years back. She said their pool is clean and big and she had fun while getting a little relaxation and exercise. I would and have recommended this place to anyone who needs physical therapy. I have had a truly obnoxious and horrendous time trying to schedule my appointment. I got a referral back in October that I had to call and email multiple times to schedule. When I finally schedule it, I got a call back the next day saying they needed to reschedule with a different therapist who is the only one who can deal with the issue I have. Then, yesterday more than 24 hours in advance of my appointment, I called because I was feeling sick and wanted to give enough notice to cancel my appointment. I didn't hear back so I emailed. The person who emailed me back said they would pass along the message. And not surprisingly, this afternoon, at the time of my appointment, I got a message from someone saying I had missed my appointment. I really don't understand what is going on with this place but if my health care provider hadn't referred me here because its in network, I would have gone to see someone else long ago. I needed to attend physical therapy off and on for a YEAR and a HALF for both of my knees (prior to replacements and after replacements). I could not be more pleased with the service and professionalism I received. Mark went above and beyond to assure that I did all that I could to help myself while I was there and when I was home with the list of exercises he gave me. He always had me practice new stretches and/or strengthening techniques that I would be doing at home so that he could be sure I was performing them properly and I understood how to transfer them to my "home setting." I went here for a few sessions for my chronic neck pain and the therapist , Sarah, was great! I felt relief after a few sessions. But their Billing Department is horrible. Some of our mail seem to have been misplaced/ lost when we moved homes and the Billing Department sent me an email with Delinquent notice. They could have easily called me on the number in their records to ask for payment. Next time, their Billing lady called me asking to pay for a new statement. I asked her send me a billing statement first, it came in mail, with another delinquent notice. What kind of rude practices are these! I will never go back here again. This is like the fast food physical therapy. No personalized service. I was "evaluated" and asked the same questions as on the questionnaire. Then they put in a room by myself on a traction machine. I only went once despite the fact I had been given a month of PT. I decided to go to an out of network PT in Rocklin called Rebound. I paid my co-pay and suggested that they put that toward a "drive thru window". If you have a choice, go elsewhere. read more

Stuck going to Burger only because my UCD primary care has a contract with them. I felt ignored each session by the person working with me as they carried on social conversations with other people working there. I was left on my own to do my exercises and then left each time without talking to my PT. I'd be better off going to Cal Fit and working with a trainer there. read more

I have been going to Burger for over a year on a weekly basis and they are excellent. I have seen Sarah and Christine. Very professional, clean, and they are busy for good reason. Would tell anyone needing PT this is the place. Front desk staff is friendly as well. Also read other review and have no idea what they are talking about. I doubt their doctor said it "sucked" My doctor, nor any others I am aware of use language like that. I've had PT elsewhere before and I felt like the therapist didn't do anything but show me exercises. All the stars are for the physical therapists, especially Sarah, who I really believe can do much better than this place and open her own business. She is great. The actual place is a bit small with a very small waiting area. The front staff are horrible. They are argumentative, take forever to call you back, do not do reminder calls anymore, blame everything on their call center and take no responsibility for anything that goes on in this place. The management of the place is really poor despite it having great potential since the actual therapists are pretty good. The first impression of a place is formed by who you see or talk to first. In this case, it is the receptionists and sadly it is not a good impression at all. read more

My Dr. recommended I do a 24hr Iontophoresis Cortisone Patch which is avail thru some PT's, and physical therapy . He suggested Burger on E. Bidwell. . I called them and was told to check if it was covered through my insurance. They insurance company was having a hard time finding it and asked if I could call burger for a code that might help them . I called and was transferred to Stacey who gave me some kind of code. The insurance was still having trouble and made a call back to Burger for more info. The person who answered told my insurance in a very rude manner that " I was not a patient of theirs and they do not give out codes" then pretty much hung up on them. Guess what, they did give me a code. Turns out Burger doesn't charge the insurance company, it comes out of pocket. Who doesn't know their job? What was the code for if they don't bill the insurance? So between dealing with 3 Ding a Lings. Maggie who could have told me from the beginning, Stacey who gave me the code to the unknown and Kelly, l wouldn't have wasted time going back and forth and we could have bypassed the rudeness. First of all I was going to write the owners of this amazing physical therapy facility, but I think this is another way of getting the word out. I do both land and pool at this location. I love the office staff-they are sweet and friendly-in what is a very busy office. They always greet me warmly and work to get my appointments that work around my schedule. My pool Physical Therapist Kris (or is it Chris) IS AMAZING!!! She engages with all the clients, and makes each of us feel important, valued and constantly checks on each of us...sometimes with 4 clients at a time! She never gets frazzled. I look forward to each time I have therapy with her, as she takes the time to get to know each of us, and genuinely cares about our progress. I went here a while back when there was another pool Physical Therapist who shared duties in the pool...I quickly learned which days the other was working and changed my schedule so that I could keep seeing Kris. Since returning Kris is the only pool therapist, and she is AWESOME!!! I HIGHLY recommend Burger water therapy program!!! read more

I've been referred to Burger Physical Therapy twice for frozen shoulder. Both experiences were extremely positive and I would recommend them to anyone who is needing help getting fully mobile again. They designed a great program for me to follow -- even though I was travelling 3 weeks out of every month. On those times when I could come in to their facility, they treated me like a valued client. I never had to wait for my appointment. They went out of their way to check on my progress and give me updated adaptations. They did not ever give up on me (like a previous location). With their persistence -- and my dedicated follow-through with their "prescribed" exercises -- I now have 98% mobility in both shoulders, and have been able to maintain it.
