This is the most beautiful hot yoga studio I have ever seen. The yoga room and showers look like a high end spa. The best part of this studio, however, is the instructors. They are all top notch. I've spoken to people who have had bad experiences with drill Sargent-type instructors with hot yoga (26/2). You will find none of that here. I'm not in the kind of shape many of the other students are in and I do need to rest. The instructors actually encourage taking it easy if you feel light headed or unwell. Don't be afraid to try it. If I can do it, anyone can do it. They are also doing a phenomenal job of implementing social distancing and other safe practices to ensure everyone feels comfortable. This yoga practice can change your life. I always feel amazing after I finish a class. read more

Nice, clean yoga studio with pleasant instructors. I took the Yin Nidra with Dan on my day off last week, which was an absolute delight. The main drawback is the lack of class diversity. Their curriculum is overwhelmingly Bikram-based, which is not for everyone. It's very structured and 90 minutes is just a bit too long for me personally. I struggle with chronic pain so I tend to seek out restorative classes, of which they only offer two at very inconvenient time slots: Mondays at 11am (which is when most people have to work, including myself with the exception of a three-day weekend here and there) and Sunday nights at 6pm. I'd love to see more of the Yin-focused classes at reasonable afternoon or weekend morning hours. I frequent numerous other hot yoga studios in the area (Yoga NoHo and White Heat), and they both have gentle flow or regular flow classes at decent times of the day for busy professionals. I hope to see this studio take on a more progressive approach to hot yoga instead of just the traditional Bikram by opening up more class variety at better times of the day :) This is my neighborhood yoga studio so I'd love to see it thrive! Just wish it had more options for everyone. read more

This studio is a wonderful place to get introduced to hot yoga. The owner is kind, encouraging, and fun. The teachers are knowledgeable and motivating, and the community is very warm and inviting. Stretch is a GREAT studio w/professional teachers who know their yoga and know their anatomy extensively! The room is large, the heat is 100% on point and the women's facilities for showers and bathrooms are some Of the best I've ever seen in ANY gym or studio. After trying their free first class I signed up for the introductory "new student" offer of $69 for the first month. This gives me unlimited classes for 30 days. My home studio is Rise Yoga Studio in Atwater Village and I usually attend the 8 am class on Saturday mornings. However, I woke up to a flat tire and by the time AAA finished, I knew I was going to kiss the 8 am class. I remembered that another Rise student raved about Stretch Hot Yoga so I decided this would be a perfect opportunity to attend their 9 am Bikram method class. The studio felt more like a luxury spa....clean, spacious, serene, and opulent. I was warmly greeted by Eva, the teacher, at the front desk. After the waiver formalities, I was surprised to find out that the first class was complementary. The class with Eva was awesome: Hot and humid. Everything you can expect with the Bikram class... 90 min, 26 postures, etc. I definitely felt at home. I now know where I can go as a second option to my home studio when I need to practice my yoga. Other students here were also very friendly. I saw one other Rise Yoga studio Yogi as well. Lastly, the changing room amenities were exceptional, including the showers, restrooms, etc. It's a great studio, and definitely one you should try if your are near the Burbank area. I hesitate slightly writing this review because I love that the classes aren't jam packed yet but that would be selfish of me so..... I LOVE love LOVE this studio. For those who don't want to read my whole schpeal or for those of you not new to Bikram. The short version: This is hands down the best studio in Los Angeles. Its modern, clean, everyone has a great vibe and most importantly the teachers are THE BEST. (My personal favs our Liz, Charm, Eva, Brook and Mark) that being said there are quite a few teachers I haven't had yet. For those of you considering Bikram for the first time let me say that if you commit to doing it regularly- it's life changing. (But don't come once and say "it wasn't for you" you have to really give it a go) - The best tip I wish I got a long time ago... Is drink an electrolyte powder about an hour before class. No sugar no calories just game changing results during class. Liz gave me this tip a couple weeks ago and I can't believe how much it helped me. -Try to go to classes at different times of day. For example: I'm definitely stronger & have better balance in the morning but have much better focus in the evening, So I try and do both. Now lastly, lets talk about the YIN YOGA taught by Abbie... truth be told I normally don't like any type of yoga except Bikram because I like the discipline and the challenge. One thing I'm slowly learning through Bikram is the difference between good and bad work-out pain....Unfortunately this lesson didn't come quick enough and I hurt my hip during another workout a couple weeks ago (I also have a laundry list of old work-out injuries) I was 2 weeks into severe hip pain and was about to go to the doctor but I thought I'd try one last stitch effort with the "Hippy Dippy" (I mean that in the nicest way) Yin Yoga. HOLY SHIT in one class my hip feels 90% better. Seriously Abbie is some kind of pain relieving magician. And as with all the teachers at Stretch she really cared. Please keep in mind as you read this review that it's my opinion: It's taken me awhile to write this review, because I really want to share the essence of my experience. Stretch yoga has changed my life. (It's made me want to be a healthier & positive person) Around December 2017 through April 2018 my career was depressing me, causing me anxiety, my relationships with friends/family were in the gutter. I was becoming more anti social, heavier, and the weight gain caused health problems. I saw my doctor and she said the most obvious thing a doctor could say "eat healthier and lose weight". At that time my feet were hurting so much that aerobics exercise was out of the question, so then I thought about what to do. And it came to me! Years ago I had practice Bikram yoga and loved it(I enjoyed the rigor & discipline that goes into it). . So I went online to see if there was one within a reasonable distance and there was! Stretch yoga in Burbank, 16 miles from my home. Sometimes with traffic I consider it a pilgrimage:) I remember my first class I got there at 3:30, Liz greeted me showed me around and told me that my first class was free! The class started at 4 and it was difficult, it was HOT my body ache (it was like WTF are u doing!) I could barely do some the poses, but I stuck to it, I did NOT leave the hot room, it almost felt like I had no range of motion, I was very stiff. However once class ended I paid for the membership because I felt GREAT! I arrived broken that day(I'm trying not to get emotional as I'm writing this) and Liz healed a part of me. It felt like Liz had imbued me with her positive energy and strength. It felt like Liz had healed me spiritually, physically and emotionally in the process of seeing her once a week, (when most of you see Liz you see a woman, when I see Liz I see a Healing Goddess). After every Thursday with Liz, I started feeling better. Eventually after a few months I decided to venture out and try out the other instructors and wow wow they are amazing! They are more than friends they have become family to me, that loves me no matter what( I have a quirky personality!). Brook - pushes me to my limit, she challenges me and I love it! PJ- Fun loving (Great story teller) and somehow always gets me to do all the poses, just when I want to take a break he'll say this next pose is really important because.....so obviously I have to do it. Megan - Happy, if you are ever feeling down, sad, frustrated come see Megan! Closing thoughts: I've become a more patient person, I transferred to a new work site that's amazing and I'm beginning to heal relationships. Best bikram yoga place in Burbank, wow! We travel a lot for business and are always seeking great yoga studios. Many bikram studios are not well taken care of, this one is sparkly in terms of being new, clean, great showers, locker rooms. Parking is easy on street or lot. Prices are great teachers are amazing and they even have a great 30 day challenge. 99% of the classes are bikram yoga so the schedule is reliable, and they have an intermediate bikram by invitation class as well as a yin yoga class. I am going to be 52 years old in a week and in November it will be one year since I started at Stretch in Burbank, CA. Why did I take a year to write review? Because I now consider myself committed to this practice. I had never tried Bikram Yoga before nor practiced in a hot/humid studio. This practice has been a blessing to my mind, body and soul. A year ago my health was deteriorating and I was not hopeful that I could get better. Each time I tried to exercise I would cause more damage to myself. I decided to explore what Bikram Yoga had to offer. I met with Liz and shared all my injuries. She took the time to listen and offered the most caring, genuine advice to give it a try. I was one of those people who would NEVER EVER DO YOGA BC I AM JUST NOT A YOGA PERSON. However, a series of injuries pretty much forced me into the practice and it was one of the best things to ever happen to me. I come here almost every day now because bikram has become an incredibly grounding and important part of my life. This is not a place to come if you want a something super easy. This is a high class, state of the art "Bikram" hot yoga studio. The class was wonderful; Liz is an amazing instructor and she really loves what she does - and it shows. She is also the owner and has gone above and beyond in her attempt to make this the best yoga studio in LA. I have practiced yoga in many places, including Vancouver CND, LA and Cancun MX and this is by far, the best place I've ever been to. I've never really been into hot yoga, but this studio makes it incredibly easy and comfortable to get into because fresh air is continuously pumped in along with the heat, so you don't feel dizzy or anything. The bathrooms/changing rooms are extremely nice and all the water is filtered! I also love the little retail store; the yoga clothes are super nice so I bought a few things. read more

I've been a student of Stretch for almost 3 years. My background was mainly weight training / bodybuilding. I am still involved with the weights but I will always incorporate my yoga practice with it. I had always heard good things about yoga, but I never knew how beneficial it really was. It's benefits touch on every level of athletics including and especially the meditative. The foundation of every sport is your breathing. Through this practice my breathing has become deliberate and in control which for me has been my most valued skill. The practice is physically therapeutic property aligning the body, detoxifying, and extremely stress relieving. As a newcomer to yoga I tried a ninety minute hot yoga class. Apparently you are not supposed to talk/as questions. I tried to follow along and keep up as best I could. When I commented out loud that I was not following I was shushed by the teacher Suzette. I don't understand how I'm supposed to learn the poses properly if the teacher doesn't show me what to do. she should teach yoga and not just talk over the microphone and expect me to do it the poses correctly immediately. The class is a mix of all level, beginner to advance, so I felt lost. The teacher didn't make me feel like I want it to enjoy it and become better at it. She should be active more with the students to correct out positions and forms and to get better results .I think that just heat and repetitions won't help me learn the correct way. I think they need to be more hands on and help the individual student get better and not get injured. I really did not appreciate the rules of not going to the bathroom or drinking water during class. (I was scolded for drinking water). Bottom line is I did not feel welcomed there and won't go back. read more

I have had two classes at Stretch so far. They have a beautiful studio, filtered water, showers, everything you need to have a great experience! The teachers are very good. I especially enjoyed my Thursday morning class with Jenn. I would recommend Liz as well. She is a very caring person and really wants the students to have a beneficial experience and goes above and beyond helping make that happen. She is very knowledgeable. Great place, great people and great instructors! I had joined a program and absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish it due to medical reasons but I plan to go back but the one without the heat. The only negative thing I can comment on is the small locker room. The toilets and showers are next to each other, so shower steam and no "courtesy flushes" gets pretty bad! Even with that I still look forward to starting up Yoga again. read more

As someone who started last November having this idea that yoga, hot yoga, was just about stretching, little did I know it's actually a 90-minute mind-body therapy session. Each class is a challenge. It is, and the heat is just the conduit to get you 'there', wherever your 'there' is. It's supposed to make you comfortable with the uncomfortable. And with Liz at the helm, she allows each instructor to teach the same 26 postures while throwing in their individual personalities. As someone who was a bit hesitant at first, I'm now going 5-6 days a week. I cannot say enough about how grateful I am to have this studio, with these instructors not only in my town but in my life. I tout yoga to anyone who wants to look beyond the gyms, the parks & recs sports, or the casual jogging to something that'll give you 90-minutes of hot, sweaty focus where at the end you feel refreshed, cleansed, and want to do it again. Don't get me wrong, I still can't stand on one leg to save my life, but like everything else, it is about the process. I highly suggest that if you have the inclination to stop by or jump in and sign up with Stretch. I cannot say enough about this studio. My first yoga experience was simply amazing. The studio is immaculate and clean. There are lockers provided along with filtered water. My first session was last week with Megan. She was very informative, patient, and funny! The 90 minutes really kicked my butt the first time but it felt so good afterwards. I also took Eva and Abbie class as well. Stretch heated yoga is an incredible therapeutic practice. I joined the studio after not practicing yoga for 20 years and never had tried heated yoga before. I had been boxing for 6 years and spinning for 3 years along with gym workouts- my body was aging, my muscles and ligaments were tight and hurting. I started to seek out heated yoga for a change. I found Stretch!! The first class was free so I thought why not give it a try. I was hooked after the first class! I now have been doing it for a year and felt so strongly about the practice that after 9 months of doing it I decided to do the teacher tracing course there. This particular style of yoga changed my body and mind. Not only is it chiropractic and therapeutic, it also helps with circulation and is directly related to our internal organs and hormones!! I honestly feel these benefits and highly recommend this practice!! Stretch Studio has a wonderful community of friendly caring people, and an incredible and inspiring staff. Their is no pretense there like a lot of other studios, people are down to earth and Liz the owner is a genuine, knowledgeable, respectful teacher and practitioner. Stretch is a super nice, relaxed, and clean place. Best of all is TEACHERS. Every teachers are great and I mean "GREAT". They remember every students by name, they call each one of us in the classes if we need to adjust our poses or if we do good. Beautiful Studio! The reception area, yoga room, showers, bathrooms and lockers are pristine and luxurious. I went to a class last night with Charm as the teacher and enjoyed it very much. I have been practicing for 5 years now - mostly hot power Yoga (core power, Baptise and general power yoga) Bikram set is a wonderful series but it's rigid. There's no deviation -- which honestly isn't my preference. I have my own practice as someone doing yoga for a few years and there is unfortunately no room for this when you do Bikram. However, that aside, the aesthetic of the studio and the kindness of Charm as my first representation of Stretch, I definitely recommend it and I will definitely go back. 5 stars, hands down. Stretch offers classic 90-minute therapeutic hot yoga classes with smart engaged teachers who practice what they preach - you will see them in class practicing next to you. I always feel challenged and supported when I take class there. And the facilities are top-notch! The yoga room has great heat and humidity - challenging but not overwhelming, so I am still strong enough to perform the postures with strength and good alignment. The locker rooms are spacious, I have never had to wait for a shower. The entire venue is very clean and well maintained. This is an excellent bikram facility. The owner has exquisite taste. The entire place has the nicest finishes. The instructors are outstanding -Liz is hilarious and has eagle eyes when she's teaching. Eva is compassionate, kind and an exceptional instructor. Megan is marvelous and Melanie is also magnificent.
