I've started Bikram about 5 years ago at their DTLA location, but I had stopped my practice when I moved to the valley. Then, I heard great news about them expanding their location to NoHo. Super excite!
Love this studio. So cute and cozy. They've improved a lot since their grand opening. I get their monthly auto pay of $115. Let me tell you, 90 minutes of hot yoga is not easy but it is so worth it. You feel so refreshed and energized! They offer a lot of classes throughout each day but weekends are a bit more limited of course. Parking is free and convenient. Be careful leaving your important belongings in the car because there was a recent break-in into one of the cars. The room is extremely hot. At first, it was just okay hot and doable, but now, it seems to be extremely unbearable. I find myself pretty miserable because they've recently changed the humidifier which makes the room extra, extra hot. I feel like dying. Never have I ever loved an iced cold water so much before. If you're lucky, the instructor will be nice enough to open the door once in a while to allow cool breeze to come in, and/or turn on the ceiling fan. =P which is just EVERYTHING at the moment.
Ashley: My most favorite instructor of all time. I remember clearly when I first stepped into her class; I was in awe of her beauty. Not only is she a great instructor, but she motivates you to try harder. She teaches the class with a smile, constantly. She's so encouraging and loving. I swear, she has a singing voice!! My very first class with her was with one other student, literally. After our class ended, my bag in the women's room was stolen. I panicked because it had my wallet and car keys! It turned out that someone had accidentally taken it home. So lesson learned... Keep your belongings with you at all times or get a locker.
Persephanie: Awesome instructor. One time, she actually demonstrated all the poses from the beginning to end while teaching. I was really impressed. She reminds me of a really pretty yoga Barbie.
Orlando, Stella, Rich, Stephanie- everyone is SO amazing. I can't say that enough! They try to get to know you by your first name. You just feel so welcomed!
Here is one downfall...........
Chokhae: Went to his class once and I will never, ever, EVER go back to any of his classes ever again. He was so rude and discouraging- I wanted to cry and walk out in the middle of the class. "No, that's not an option. Do it again." It was as if he was straight up picking on ME! This isn't freaking boot camp. I come to yoga to relax and mediate. This is to relieve stress, not the other way around! Boy, was I fuminggggg. It was like harassment, really. He'd stand next to me fixing my every move, and kept repeating himself until it was to his standards. Excuse me? No thank you. NEVER AGAIN.
Alright, I'm done. NAMASTE! read more
