I was referred to Master Sunny at Body and Brain Yoga by a friend of my husband's back in July of this year. It took me a little while to work up the courage to try something new, but I am very glad that I finally did! I have been suffering with terrible anxiety and depression for years and this practice is teaching me how to deal with my emotions naturally through energy healing. I've never felt so relaxed after exercise in my life! I also walk a lot and have a funny gait due to bunions, so my lower back is always in pain. In the short time I've been practicing, just over a month, I've learned just how much deep stretching and core strengthening exercises can ease my back pain. Master Sunny and Master Kim are extremely kind and welcoming. They help make the whole experience very positive and fun. I'm glad that I also chose to do some private healing sessions with Master Sunny, she is teaching me about gut health and how it is associated with total body health, as well as all the acupuncture points on body and how stimulating them starts the healing process. I love the Zoom classes that are offered, as I'm not always able to get to the studio. The online classes are just as fun as the in-studio classes, and I love all the different instructors' styles. I was ready for change, for a new outlet, and have tried many different things. Body and Brain Tai Chi Yoga is a true fit! What really did it for me was the Finding True Self Workshop. This feels a bit like a cult. Even if it's not, whatever it is they're doing, it's not tai chi. Just looking at a few videos on YouTube will show you what tai chi is. These Korean exercises are somewhat similar to chi gung, but not good enough to bestow the benefits of tai chi. Sorry I gave them my $$, Live and learn. read more

I have been attending class almost every day for the past 3 weeks. Still fairly new. I decided to join because of chronic inflammation and autoimmune disease. Master Sunny is the sweetest. I would highly recommend Dahn Yoga for the wonderful staff, great atmosphere and variety of exercises and activities, I have been way too unhealthy for a while. I am working on my first 5k and also need to work on flexibility and weights a bit too. As a result I looked around the Glendale area at a variety of yoga places. Dahn Yoga caught my eye as it not only does yoga but meditation and wellness exercises for intestines and the like. I had an introductory lesson for $29 and I was given a checkup by the Center Manager (apologies I know the name but can't spell it). She is a really lovely lady who truly cares about everyone who comes through the door. There are a lot of regulars here too showing how much customer care goes on. Everyone is very focused during sessions but also relaxed and have a laugh when an exercise really pushes people. Because I travel a lot at the moment I bought a 10 class package as the monthly etc. ones wouldn't work for me. Again this wasn't on the list of options but the manager worked things out to make it work for me. I have done about 6 lessons so far and am planning to buy longer term membership in Jan/Feb when I come to LA more permanently. Thank you! read more

I've been going to this center for several months now. It has really helped my energy levels. Committing to a new exercise program can be a commitment challenge but I'm able to keep it together because I always feel better afterwards. Dahn Yoga is the best thing that I have ever done. I have the worst lower back pain (bulging disc) and I'm pregnant so I can't take medicine. 4 months ago I was overwhelmed by anxiety. An avid meditator, I wanted to start practicing mindful movement. Due to a herniated disc issue I've had for a few years, I've never really been able to practice yoga. So I decided to find a Tai Chi studio and by chance found Body & Brain. My experience so far has been AMAZING! Not only have I started to learn tai chi from the wonderful Master Dahari, but I've also done one on one energy healing (acupressure) with her at the studio. They offer a wide selection of classes that focus on energy healing / enhancing the movement of stagnant energy in your body. And the welcoming environment was an unexpected surprise / delight. After a class or personal session, tea is always offered as an opportunity to revel in the positive energy / body work you've just put in. I found out about Dahn yoga from AmazonLocal coupons. I bought one for 10 sessions in 2013 and started using them end of Jan. 2014 and will do my last session tomorrow. Dahn Yoga is nothing like any other yoga I've done before. With a strong concentration on chakras and body & mind wellness, I've really benefited greatly. After long and stressful days at work and dealing with often 2 hour commute each way in LA traffic, these classes definitely align your priorities and bring your concentration on your wellness. This is the anti-stress or the stress antidote :) Every class is different with various instructors who are extremely pleasant and exude warmth, making this a very personal experience, making you feel at home. I will need to look into continueing here more regularly and certainly recommend anyone, regardless of age and fitness level, to give it a try! read more

I started coming to Dahn Yoga 18 months ago. At first it was only once a week, but now as I have more free time, I come 4 days and it has made the world of difference. I feel wonderful! My body is so much more flexible and more relaxed. Working at a desk for more years than I can count, left me with a lot of tension in my shoulders. Now that is relieved and my posture has improved as well. I have also learned how to breathe deeper which helps you relax. I have so much more energy too! Another benefit you get from the energy meditation.
