When I had questions regarding their order form online, I called and Edward picked up. He was extremely patient and answered every question I had. Today, we made an order for a courier to come pick up a last minute deliverable and deliver it to a client by 4pm in Oakland. 30 minutes before the driver was supposed to come, I had to call Gold Rush to push the time back. We ALWAYS seem to underestimate the time it takes to get things done!! Thankfully, Edward was very kind and said he will let his driver know. The driver came around 1:55pm and I asked him to wait a bit. He waited over 15 minutes without complaining! We do feel extremely bad as we know that he has other packages to deliver. A quick shout-out to Bryanna, my "fit expert" who discussed my issues and helped me narrow it down to the perfect pair. (which happened to be the new Hoka One One Gaviota 3). One great thing about this store is a great selection the best and most serious running/training shoe brands in stock. Hoka, Saucony, Brooks, Asics, On... they're all there. Helpful information with regard to stability and plushness is ranked on each shoe. Internet research is great, but I also recommend the old world experience of inspecting, touching, flexing, trying on, and asking questions about products in real-time in an actual store. They also offer a custom, free evaluation process, which includes a scan, and video recording of your walking mechanics. They use this to inform you if you have over-pronation, under-pronation, neutral, how high your arches are, width of ball etc. They take the data and apply it to orthotic inserts suitable shoe types. I didn't really need this, because of my very flat feet, and surgically f*cked-up left foot (anti-shout-out to Dr. Manzi, Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara who butchered me 5 years ago.) But for the standard buyer who hasn't been already been through evaluations with podiatrists and custom orthotics, I can see how this would be quite a boon for a free evaluation, and reasonably custom orthotics they create for you onsite. And if you don't like 'em, no worries. They get recycled. They're definitely trained on the upsell aspect, but I wasn't too annoyed by it. Overall it was a good experience and I recommend it. I was driving north on 101 near Gilroy yesterday when one of the drivers nearly ran me off the road and then continued to taunt me and take a video of me on his phone when he finally passed me. I called the number on the truck but only got their uncaring answering service who promised I would receive follow-up from their management but I never did. Please tell me how you can condone such awful behavior not to mention the stupidity of acting in such a way in a WORK vehicle... not very smart.
