Came here as a party of 4 and luckily had made a reservation so got a table by the window.
For drinks got the elderflower lemonade with no ice which was a mistake as it was sickly sweet. I ended up adding fair amounts water to soften the sugary taste down a bit.
However encountered better luck with the choice of our food as both starters just blew away everyone on our table. We decided to get both of the Sharing Boards and oh gosh, brilliant decision as the food was excellent!
1) Bao Bun Board: just super delicious. I liked the crispy hoisin duck more than the BBQ pulled pork, and also liked the self service aspect of this (you had to make your own Bao bun). Really appreciated that they served generous amounts of the stuffing elements for the bun and all 4 items just complemented each other.
2) Age Board: the blackened chicken and tempura cauliflower bites were amazing! As were the accompanying sauces. The duck spring rolls were okay, but definitely for our group the chicken & cauliflower won when it came to tastiness. The cauliflower bites especially just super crisp while the chicken was so moist and with just super delicious spices!
We should have stopped there and ordered dessert instead next, but we didn't realize so had also ordered mains! I got the Shio Ramen; other members of our group got the Bibimbap with Shrimp; Kung Pao Chicken; and Chow Mein.
Btw, if you are worried that the menu selection seems all over the place when it comes to Asian food with Japanese, Korean, Sichuan Chinese & Hong Kong being represented with the menu choices our group made, I want to reassure anyone reading this review, that the food is tightly focused and the restaurant is Pan-Asian rather than Fusion Asian cuisine, so it all tastes fairly authentic.
I had a taste of the Bibimbap and it was deliciousness! I think I might have enjoyed my Shio Ramen more if I wasn't already massively full from the Entree's. However if I return back to the restaurant, I won't get this ramen menu item again - I wanted a wee bit more vegetables plus the broth was a bit too bland for my taste. I put in copious amounts of dark soy spice and chili oil to spice it up. I also don't think the taste of the semi-cured chashu pork belly as the protein in the ramen was all that great. Don't get me wrong, the pork tasted delicious, but I wanted more of the fat to be present and mix with the ramen broth and instead it was more smoky taste elements.
Overall however, service was great and as mentioned previously, those two starters hit it out of the park. I'd definitely return and get those two tasting boards again!
