Wagamama is a chain restaurant mainly based in London... and when I heard it was coming here back in 2014, I couldn't contain my excitement!
The problem with Coventry is that we have too many poor restaurants that have been in business for decades, the only reason they are still around is because there isn't any fresh competition... well not anymore.
With the introduction of Wagamama and 2 other new restaurants nearby, the City centre is slowly changing and becoming more trendy and welcoming on an evening, which is just what the City needs.
Back to the restaurant...
I've eaten here 3 times now since it opened and it's always busy - always. The food isn't cheap, but it is fast and delicious. They have a great selection of drinks too ranging from super green type juices for the health conscious to the heavy cocktails for the cocktail kings... (or queens)
I like the fact that the portions are small too, because it means that I can order more without feeling like I can only order one dish tonight and that will fill be up. Sometimes I just like to try different things, and play around by eating random items.
The one downside I will point out is that it's always so busy that I've never been able to just walk in and sit wherever I want. I've had to sit in a seat I didn't want each time or a seat that I found uncomfortable... a bit like those benches in Nandos (get in, eat, get out quick...) whereas I am more of a slow, relaxed eater - I like to enjoy the experience of food for the sake of food. Not just to eat it to cure my hunger.
Overall though, I'm a big fan and it get's the thumbs up from me :) read more
