Came here as a group of 5 for dinner with work colleagues. They were some really great highs and…read morethen some really bad lows with the dishes, hence 3 stars. Along with the uneven food, the service was indifferent as well, which contributes to the overall "A-ok!" 3-star score which is a shame really, as some of their dishes were just so good! So to start with the high - if you are a vegetarian, then let me tell you the good news / the veggie dishes here tasted spectacular! I LOVED the eggplant & green beans- in fact the hum of delight I inadvertently gave out when first tasting the eggplant dish caused one of my co-diners, who dislikes eggplants, to give this dish a go. There was a beautiful creaminess and bright Unami-ness to this dish. The eggplant was absolutely my favorite dish of the night, followed quite closely by the green beans! Those beans were so bright and crispy! Loved the strong crunch they produced in my mouth. Next favorite in rank was the lamb with cumin and onions. I've never had such aggressive cumin seasoning in a Chinese restaurant dish before, but this was good! The lamb maybe could have been more tender but overall it wasn't too shabby. We also got a popcorn spicy chicken dish as well as a soupy fish curry - both of which I massively disliked the taste of. The chicken just tasted off and old - the individual pieces were also too oily. The fish had this aggressive peppery seasoning that would just taste weird in the mouth. The curry tasted soapy to me. When it came to Service, we just couldn't seem to get the waitress's attention. Our rice bowl got empty and it took a while for her to get us a refill. Water wasn't bought to our table either and it was just a pain trying to get any server's attention once all the food had arrived. BTW, the reason I don't know the names of the dishes we ordered is because of our colleague is Chinese-American and we asked him to do the ordering for us. He also paid the bill, so no idea about cost. Overall, in conclusion, I'd definitely return for anything vegetarian, but be cautious of anything with meat or fish on the menu. Yelp 152/ 2019

Not too rude (at the risk of benchmarking to a stereotype), not too cold, but at the same time there wasn't much of a recommendation in terms of what to order. OK - I suppose I can deal with that one. Food selection seemed pretty authentic and varied with everything from chicken gizzards and duck tongue to tripe and intestine mince. They even had a decent vegetarian selection. I ordered the lamb with cumin and the pork ribs with prawns. Both were spicy but differently so. The pork noodles was excellent. Highly recommended!

I've been here a few times with family and have always been impressed with the food. There's not a…read morehuge selection of dishes, but what they serve is very nice indeed. The portions are generous and I'm no expert on thai cuisine but my wife and I have always come away happy. The service is very good in my opinion, the dishes come very quickly and the staff are happy to help wherever possible. We organised a large group of us for my Mums birthday and they were very accommodating and we stayed drinking and eating way beyond their set closing time. The building is very long and relatively narrow, most likely as its previous occupants ran a strictly buffet-style Indian restaurant. The private car park is very large but curiously always nearly empty even though there's a fair few people inside, good evidence that the place is picking up a lot of passing trade which is encouraging with the likes of Akbars and other fast food shops opposite. The atmosphere is generally very pleasant and the elevated bar and waiting area separate to the main restaurant is a nice touch. My wife has found it to be a touch chilly whilst seated however, perhaps a touch of dutch courage will be required next time. As for pricing, last night we paid £30 for 2 mains, 2 starters and 2 drinks which is entirely reasonable. They also offer a buffet option at certain times but I have yet to sample this.

My work colleague suggested this buffet place as a decent place to grab lunch and described it as a…read morebuffet with both Chinese and Indian food options. This actually aroused my curiosity about such a hybrid, but lack of restaurant options not being that huge, decided to go. It's a massive space, and we were seated quickly and I headed to the entree/ starter section of the buffet which had a Chinese section (spring rolls, etc) and an Indian section. (Bhajiya, poppadums, etc). Of the options here, I thought pepper fish and pakora were the best - the ribs tasted really tough and so ended up just leaving those on the plate. My next foray was to the Indian part of the buffet, which was heaps smaller than the Chinese - the Indian dishes numbered around 7, while the Chinese buffet dishes easily were around 15-20. Of the options here, the lamb really was the best option, but the rice was super dry. I saw that the chicken dishes (there were x3) were in a very oily looking sauce, so avoided them. Then I headed back to buffet for some Chinese options (fried rice, noodles, pork in 5 spice, stir fried broccoli, chicken in black bean sauce, etc- these were def better tasting then the Indian, but some of the meat pieces I got tasted dry and also sometimes the salt was too much for my palate. The selection of dessert cakes was and sweets was quite large, but the portion itself was quite small. Ice-cream was also available, but I ended up trying the banana custard, and a small cake. Both tasted okay. All in all, I did get fed, and for a decent price too (£7.99 per person), however am unsure if would go back here again.

Myself and a friend were staying in the village on a Saturday night and decided to source a meal…read morefrom a local restaurant. We thought a curry would suit so went into Omars where we were immediately shown to the last available table in the house at that time which gives an indication of it's popularity. We were attended by a very well presented waiter who was able to put us at some ease and recommend both starters and main courses to us having little idea ourselves of the content or flavour of a very varied Indian cuisine on the menu. We ordered wine and leisurely ate the papadums and sauces whilst waiting for the starters. The garlic mushrooms were fine and very tasty, however my friend's samosas were rather overdone and so crisp as to be considerably resistant to the sharp knife supplied but on making a compalint a replacement dish was quickly served along with profuse apologies and the dish proved very enjoyable. The main courses as recommended were a Dhansak and a Jalfrezi served with mushroom rice and Naan bread. The mains were served from hot metal bowls and were absolutely delicious. I had some misgivings about a jalfrezi being too spicey for my taste but it was beautifully flavoured to just the right level and the dhansak was just as delicious as were the mushroom rice and naan bread which we shared. On settling our account we were offered a complimentary liquer and great interest was shown in our satisfaction on the evening's fayre. Saturday nights one expects a good restaurant to be busy and some waiting involved giving time to anticipate the pleasures of the dish ordered and in all we were more than pleased with the cuisine and service. Finally the price was perfectly acceptable given the surroundings, attention, service and concern in this establishment which offers a personal atmosphere with the tables set in different rooms not one noisy mass dining room. Extremely enjoyable and well worth a return visit if ever I am that way again from Lancashire.
