Walt was recommended to us by a friend after receiving a quote from another local landscaper. From the moment I contacted him for a quote, he was responsive and attentive to our vision and budget. We had a general idea of what we wanted in our yard, but we gave Walt the freedom to come up with his own plan as he went along. When it came time to do the work, Walt was great about communicating when the equipment would be dropped off along with a timeline to complete the project. His crew showed up ready to work and was clean and efficient throughout the entire project - from demo to competition. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to knock out my entire front yard over the course of 2 days. After the job was completed we did run into a few hiccups. The sprinkler timer randomly stopped working for the backyard sprinklers and a small patch of grass in the front yard began to turn yellow from the heat and high winds that took place shortly after install. I'm not sure if the sprinkler issue was a result of new irrigation in the front yard or just a fluke thing, but Walt happily handled both issues in a timely manner. Walt is hands down the guy I'll recommend anyone go to for their landscaping needs! He came by my house, in the rain, on the weekend to look at my side yard and give me a price for various improvements I wanted there. It wasn't just some grass going down, that's for sure! I asked him to price small tree removal, concrete walkway extension, compacted aggregate, wood chips, a vegetable drip system, and sod with irrigation, all needed to improve the side yard of our house to become a multi-use area for gardening, a new shed for outdoor storage, and a play area for our son. This was a big job with many adjacent aspects that needed to be coordinated and it was definitely more than I could handle on my own! Walt's pricing was very competitive, less than 2 other contractors I'd had look at the same area and scope, and he was very confident in his ability to give me a great end product at a great price - and he sure delivered on that promise! His guys are super hard working, and really made an immediate transformation to the yard. They cleared out all the existing vegetation (basically weeds and dirt and rock and junk!) and got to work prepping the soil so that it drained properly, in addition to making sure the adjacent materials of wood, grass, gravel, and concrete all were delineated properly and laid out. During their work, they dug out a bunch of areas where I had gravel and weed barrier down in other areas of my yard so that they could make the water connection for the irrigation and they did a great job cleaning up after themselves, putting back the weed barrier and replacing the gravel. It looked better than when I did it myself. Those are the kinds of things that make a difference for me - little details that we didn't discuss but that he and his guys took care of without me needing to micro-manage them. He told me a couple times that he'd do the job like it was his own yard, and it showed. Everything turned out great and we're so excited to have this space on our property that will really become a wonderful place to hang out and grow some veggies and for our son to play. After meeting with two other contractors we immediately decided to go with Walt based on the vibe we had at our initial meeting. Walt was straight forward with his pricing and open to my design plan without trying to change anything to make the job easier for him as the other contractors did. One thing in particular I liked was the fact I left him a voicemail on a Sunday not expecting a call back until the following week but to my surprise he returned my call within the hour, came by our home within the next hour and was able to discuss the project, paint out the design, and offer use pricing per square ft within a matter of a few hours. Upon his departure he told us he would follow up with an email to confirm our discussion and pricing by the next day and to my shagren we had a confirmation email by 530 am the next day. We are totally satisfied with the outcome of the project. Initially we were only hiring Streamline to complete the hardscape phase of the project but after seeing the work his crew could do we expanded the initial project from hardscape only to include the irrigation and sod installation. Streamline completed the patio area which was roughly 950 st ft with Belgard pavers in Arbel and Lafitt, installed a 70ft length concrete walkway along the side of the house. The fire pit area was completed using arbel pavers and the fire pit kit by Basalite. The sod was ordered from a local sod farm and is the same grass used at AT&T ballpark in SF. The crew was simply amazing, special thanks to Favio and his son Arturo, along with Stephan. These guys are real craftsmen and get the job done right. We are more than happy with the final project and will be hiring this crew back to complete the next phase...other side of yard. Money well spent. read more

I contacted Streamline landscape after researching companies on yelp. I received three bids for my job and while not the lowest, I chose to go with streamline given their good reviews. Walt then began to string me along for 3 weeks promising to start on my retaining wall until I stopped hearing from him altogether. I had a sense he was busy or maybe was unable to commit to the job at the time, however when asked he continued to reassure me he was interested instead of being honest so I could move on with a different company. Walt was great! We originally had him out as we were finishing up our pool and needed some advice on how to lay things out for electrical and irrigation before we had our concrete poured. Once we were finished with the pool, we reached back out to him to start working on the backyard. Thing was at that point he was too busy and he said he wouldn't be able to help us. We decided he was worth the wait. About a month passed and we hit him up again. This time he was able to get us in and we got Walt to put down about a 10 x 45 strip of artificial grass, irrigation lines, lighting, 5 podocarpus bushes, a couple of hibiscus bushes and a lot of other flowers. We had a slope on the side of our house which made for a lot of unusable space (6-7 feet wide by 80 feet in length). After contemplating removing the slope and putting in pavers for several years we finally decided to get it done. We interviewed 4 contractors in total. One promised us a quote and then didn't respond until several months later to want to know if we were still interested. Needless to say scratch that one off the list. One recommended we go to The Brickyard in Vacaville to check out their pavers and stones. The Brickyard had a whole section of displays of pavers and retaining walls. We asked The Brickyard for contractors and they recommended 2, one of which was Streamline Landscape. Turns out Streamline built all the displays at The Brickyard so, we could see their work upfront. We met with Walt, the owner of Streamline, and discussed what we wanted to do by digging out the slope and installing pavers and retaining wall. He came in with a great quote (which is what we paid) and was easy to talk with. We decided on using Walt and that was a great decision. He met us at The Brickyard on a Sunday morning to show us the pavers and stone for the wall that would be a good match. Streamline landscaping has done two different projects at my house. Both came out beautiful and has added to the curb appeal to my house. Walt made a suggestion on adding led lighting that are installed in the pavers. During the day the pavers look fantastic. At night the up light in the middle of the path look like it's out some designer magazine. For me to recommend a contractor to friends that contractor and his crew need to be professional and do the highest quality work. I have recommend Walt and his crew now two times to friends. Just to add on to my previous review, Walt and his crew came out to finish our backyard and we absolutely LOVE it!!! Walt finished our pavers, (we did most of our backyard and side yard in pavers) He recommended turf over the sod we originally wanted, which worked out perfect as its such a small area next to our spa so we now avoid water spots form sprinklers and mowing! He also laid a cement spa pad as well as bark and hooked up irrigation and lighting for the trees and plants he put in!!! It's been a over 6 months now and we have patio furniture now and we LOVE our backyard. EVERYONE compliments the craftsmanship as well as the overall design.
