I stumbled upon this place right before Pilates and saw the sumptuous special! The girl told me…read moreabout it and my eyes lit up and I wanted it so bad, but my friend Perla said, "No, we got to go!" Not the best thing to have right before Pilates. The next time we went was after Pilates and I asked my friend if she wanted to share it and she agreed this time! I was so excited to try it! The owner was very sweet she let us try samples of the new marshmallow ice cream that they are testing out. It was so good! I ordered the sumptuous special with frozen hot chocolate. She made it aesthetically pleasing. They asked how I wanted it and I said picture perfect! Watching her make it was so fun and jaw dropping. I was in such awe! The marshmallow alone was so amazing to watch! It was so good and made with such good ingredients. I did share a bit with my friend, but boy I had basically the whole thing to myself and it was perfect. The frozen hot chocolate was bittersweet too. So it was balanced with the cookie, marshmallow, and cream. The perfect amount of sweetness for me. It was pricey, but it was worth it! Well worth it to try it at least once! I am absolutely coming back again!

OMG... these cookies did NOT disappoint…read more We ordered the "most popular" dozen to-go, and from the second we opened the box, we knew we were in trouble (in the best way). Every single cookie looked incredible -- and somehow tasted even better. Let me start with what these are not... These are NOT your typical over-the-top, overly sugary, same-tasting cookies where everything is piled high with toppings and ends up blending together. These feel like true homemade cookies -- soft, gooey, rich, and perfectly balanced. The kind that melt in your mouth and make you immediately reach for another. Favorites? Honestly, it's hard to pick: * The double chocolate was unreal * The raspberry had such a great flavor twist * The churro was unexpected and so good Every single one had its own unique flavor, and nothing felt repetitive. And let's just say... this box disappeared fast. I also love that this is a smaller, mom-and-pop style shop. You can taste the quality and care in what they're making. We ordered delivery, which was super convenient, and I'm so glad we did. Hands down, this is a place I'll be ordering from again and again. If you're debating it -- just do it. Five stars all the way.

Ice cream before dinner Yassss Finally got a chance to…read moretaste the gelato at An's Hatmakers in Del Mar, CA. Once a high end hat shop, it is now a really cute gelato shop with the hats as a backdrop. The staff was really good at explaining the gelato flavor profiles as well as providing samples. After tasting a few, I settled on strawberry & pistachio in the "Party Hat - Waffle Cone". The cost was $8.45 ($9.18 w tax). Definitely a guilty pleasure splurge but soooooo worth it . FYI..it gets really busy w very long lines especially after dinner time during the weekdays & on weekends.

Ended up with the matcha strawberry and strawberry (looked like wicked in a cup). The maple pecan flavor wasn't too sweet! The decor was really cute, I am enamored with the idea that they incorporate the name of the previous shop into the shop name. The ice cream cones were decorated with hats, love! Staff are super friendly and patient despite repeating their pitch over and over again. Would love to try the other locations if I get a chance the next time I'm in SD

Cheese Garden, also now known as Mad for Cheesecake, lives up to the hype! I had this place…read morebookmarked and finally had a chance to give it a try. To be honest, as I saw reviews come in for this location and their National City location, I became skeptical - many noted it to be mediocre, especially for the price. However, with everything being pricey, the work that goes into making these, and the quality of ingredients used, I think it is overall appropriately priced - the whole 4.5" cheesecakes are on the higher side, but the slices, which come from a what I believe is a 8" or 9" cheesecake, are reasonable (original was $7.50, matcha was $8.50). Both the matcha tirmaisu and the original from age slice were tasty and light. If I had to choose, I would get the original slice again. It was beautifully balanced, and once all defrosted, tasted like a cross between mousse, cheesecake, and the inside of cream puff, all sitting on top of a delicate cake crust. One last thing, just wanted to give a shout out to the male employee who helped us tonight! Wonderful customer service, taking the time to explain the products, and ensuring the highest quality of the products being delivered. We will be back! Can't wait!

I loved the concept of it being inside of bonchon so that's cool. We order boba to go and it was ok.read more

It was a flavor bomb. The ratio of espresso to milk and foam was perfect for the cappuccino, and one of the things that I appreciated was that the lid was not plastic; it was made of paper like the cup. They are an Italian bakery, so they had many delicious looking pastries, which I'll have try next time. They're located in a little shopping center, so there's plenty of parking.

I'm a huge fan of the Italian minimalist approach to sandwiches: every ingredient's a shining star, especially the bread. truthly, I'm also a huge fan of the American-style where the filling's supersized and point of the bread's to keep your mits clean. Dolce Aroma's definitely on the less-is-more end of that sammie spectrum. they succeed spectacularly. the wife-unit had the POSILLIPO (prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and olive oil on a warm baguette). I had the VESUVIO (prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, Italian cream, fig jam, and arugula on a warm baguette). the bread was perfect with a dense chew. love the sweetness of the cream and fig jam, nice counterpoints to the salty prosciutto and the peppery arugula. thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich. my only gripe is with the price point, an issue I almost never raise. nearly twenty bucks is a lot to spend for a sandwich. the ratio of what you pay for to what you get here's a bit steep. I'm mostly okay with that but be aware.
