Visited September 24th..see my receipt. I was hungry from a long drive and decided to stop in at Straw Hat in Williams. First of all don't judge a book by its cover ( as my mom used to say). The outside looks worn and the sign is faded BUT the inside was immaculate!! Nice and clean seating and floors. I got the lunch special with two toppings ( pepperoni and mushroom) and one trip salad bar with a soda for under 14 bucks ( to go order). Their pizza was better than the large chains in other more populated cities! Crunchy and plenty of cheese. Very tasty! The salad bar was organized and fresh. Plenty of toppings to choose from plus potato and macaroni salad. They also serve beer and sodas. They have some games for the kiddos. Great experience - glad I came in! This town is beyond sleepy it's dead!! We are traveling back to Seattle and we stopped for dinner a Mexican lady works there I spoke to her in Spanish about ordering a pizza she says I'll make it what do you want but I can't pay? We came in right before close (last people eating). The people were AWESOME and even before closing did a fantastic job. We were passing through and this place is worth stopping. We had the aloha chicken and it was AMAZING. Light and fluffy with strings of cheese and a gentle crunch that complimented the toppings and a kiss of BBQ sauce for the 7 yr old. I came to the restaurant and waited 10 minutes to order, no problem. I watch as 2 pizzas sit on the oven done the whole time. Then I order and pay, they overcharge me and I ask for the difference back. The clerk states she cant. We show her the price on the menu board and she said I dont out the prices in the machine. I asked for a supervisor, got another person that said they couldn't charge me the advertised price. I got a full refund and went to leave but some of my change was not even in American currency. They over charge you. Their listed prices ARE NOT what they charge. They do not accept their own coupons. They originally charged me $75 for one large pizza, their special of garlic bread that was supposed to be $3.99 and a picture of beer. I questioned it and had extra charges that I don't know what it was. And the pizza was delivered to the table and there is barely any meat on it! My husband even asked if I told them not to put meat on it. Why would I when they over charged? They really need to fix their pricing and acceptance of their own coupons. Oh and when did Coors Light become a Premium Beer? Charged $15.99 and it should have been $12.99. Beer was flat. It has been sitting to long. We used to enjoy stopping here to have pizza while traveling. That will be our last time! read more

They can't seem to open on time. I drove a long way because I like straw hat pizza. Got there at 1105 and doors were locked. I called their number and person answered , said they were open. On our way to Lassen national park we decided to make a quick detour to grab a bite at this place. One of the few places that is open late, I'm very impressed by the hard working women running the show in this busy-ish place. The appetizers were okayish (mostly frozen food deep fried?) but I was sold on the pizzas. We ordered the garlicky chicken and the cheese pizza. The crust was freshly baked and just the right texture! The toppings were delicious!! I'd recommend stopping here if you are in need of a quick bite. I Also Ordered The Kids Meal Personal Pizza With Just Cheese, Not Extra Cheese. The Website Advertises This Kids Meal As $4.99, But I Was Charged $5.99, Plus 75 Cents For The Cheese & What They Tell Me Is That This Is Just How It Rings Up & If They Didn't Charge Extra For Each Topping A Topping less Pizza Would Basically Just Be Bread & Sauce?? GTFOH. On Top Of Having A Young Girl Working The Register That Doesn't Understand How To Take Orders, And Has Information Written On A Regular Piece Of Binder Paper... There Are No Signs Visible That Say There Is A $2 Charge For Ordering The Specials On The Weekend & Also No Sign Stating You Will Be Charged 75 Cents For Every Single Topping, Even If It Should Be Included In The Advertised Price. Of course the kids wanted pizza so a quick search showed only one place in town, Straw hat. We had been on the road for many hours and apparently we called 5 minutes before they officially opened. I had not realized the time. I very rude woman answered the phone and said they weren't open. I said, no problem, I would call back. She then scoffed and said that I guess I could take my order but I better not expect it to be ready any time soon. I thought this was a bit rude but just went with it and said that it would be fine since we weren't in a hurry. I asked for a family size cheese pizza. I know some places do larger sizes and or call the largest a family size so I just assumed she would know I wanted a BIG pizza. She said again with attitude, she didn't know what I wanted and did I mean a small, medium or large. That was it, with crap service like that, I bet their pizza would be just as good. I told her nevermind and hung up. I ended up finding Granzellas had pizza and ordered from their. The place was clean when we picked up, staff was friendly and pizza was great. 10 out of 10 for Granzellas. Negative 10 for Straw hat. By the way, checked the Straw hat website after and their largest pizza is called a King. She never even offered this. Maybe to her a family means one so a small is enough? read more

I am a retired Italian restaurant chef. I ordered the medium chicken garlic pizza on pan crust. It was awful to say the least. Ate one piece to calm my hunger left the rest at the table and got the hell out of there. Place was not clean and orderly and employees behaved unprofessional. Quality is very low and pizza tasted like $h*T. The dough used was not fresh. It was somewhere around a week old. Underneath the pan crush there was still a thin layer of baking flower which happens when dough is old and should no longer be used to make a pizza. Also, this place was expensive for the size of the pizza they sell and they even charge you EXTRA for ranch which is a sign that they are bottom feeders and penny pinching muthaF&CK@R$!
