And then one day, she was bootin' her lawn fool. And out of nowhere came the dirt-y-deeds crew. Felipe, that is. Like gold. Saved me. I was at my wit's end trying to find a reliable person/crew to do my lawn. I tried Craigslist, word of mouth, Yellow Pages. They either didn't show up or didn't show up consistently or they were very unreasonably priced. When voicing my frustration, a friend handed me a card for Dirt-y-deeds and said her landlord used him. She couldn't vouch for him, but why not? It's not like my lawn will mow itself, and I don't have the time (okay, more I don't have the inclination, but let's not get distracted by details like this). Enter Felipe Comacho. I pay $25 every two weeks for my lawn to be mowed and edged, which is awesome, but the most important part to me is that he shows up! I never anticipated that being such a huge obstacle when I bought my house. Don't people want to create a name for themselves with their business? Don't they need repeat business to grow? Word of mouth? Felipe has also cut my tree branches ($20), cut down and hauled away an entire tree ($25), and loaded up and took into oblivion (or so I thought) my trash and wood leftovers from replacing my fence ($25). He knows I don't have a truck and recognizes when I need a little extra help..sometimes before I do. I enjoy conversing with him and can really tell he cares about his customers. Get this: when he is running late or needs to change our routine, he calls. Wha? Yes, he calls. Whatever came of those items he hauled away, you ask? He recycled everything he could, including using the old fence slats and posts to make ground stakes. He prides himself on being eco-friendly, which is important to me, too. I don't get how he does it so cheaply, but I won't start to question him, that's for sure. Well, now it's time to say goodbye to overgrown lawns and beds. I would like to thank Felipe for kindly haulin' off the dead. He is always invited back again to this locality because he gives a heapin' helping of hospitality. Reliability, that is. Mow well. The nature of our Project involved a number of different details including patio deck design, metal work (for our steel railing), landscape modifications including modifying our existing gutter downspout and modifying our ground cover rocks, metal boarder. It was a challenge to find a one stop shop, but Roberto's team stepped up to that challenge and did a great job. The scope of the Project: 1) increase our patio deck stairs' landing area by 35% making it safer for those exiting and entering our rear patio. 2) demolition of the existing cedar deck materials to be replaced by Trex composite requiring little to no maintenance moving forward 3) frame out the new patio landing and stairs, adding 2 additional stairs to make the overall patio stairs solution safer 4) remove and redirect our gutter downspout so that it was not in the way of the newly installed patio stairs 5) modify the steel railing on the old stairs to accommodate the larger footprint of the new landing and additional stairs They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, so I'll let the following "before" and "after" pictures speak for themselves

Shawn took time to fully understand what our vision was for our new patio. In addition he made some additional great subtle suggestions that complimented our vision. He also addressed and considered some of our permeability concerns. He provided a layout rendition drawing of how it would look and followed up with a competitive quote. What was really pleasing and refreshing was that during the build, Shawn stopped by several times every week and monitored progress. If we were not at home he communicated by phone how things were going. Blazek provided licensed subcontractors to relocate irrigation pipes and heads, lay and connect the gas supply pipe to the outdoor grill and suggested and installed 'Color Edison' lights which allow you to alternate color through a Bluetooth connection. These lights were awesome and something we had not considered. It was all a one shop deal! If we consider any additional landscaping around our house we will definitely be consulting with Blazek.
