Mill Valley Market has been operating since 1929 and they are still family run . This is their 4th generation! We came to get their sandwiches and boy did they deliver. Ordered 2 vegetarian, chicken chipotle, Thanksgiving turkey and got jerk chicken from the hot foods buffet! They are way better than Whole Foods fyi! Great quality and freshest taste ! Not fresh, steak looked like they pieces together scraps from a few different cuts. Frites tasted re-heated. Ambiance -- there were piles of boxes in the corner, place seemed dusty. We also brought a friend in for a birthday and we were one of two parties dining on a Saturday night. Felt very unspecial, we mentioned her birthday a couple of times and they didn't even bring a chocolate or anything. Mainly bothered by the predatory pricing. Haven't experienced this elsewhere. On my trip today, the man stocking the produce had his cart in the middle of the produce section, so there was really no way to get anything. I asked him if I could slip in and quickly grab a few things, and he made a really off putting comment about if I could see he was working, etc. Yikes. I've also been rung up before where the cashier just is on auto pilot, no hello, no small chit chat. Nugget, you carry things we like, and you're close to our home. Don't let the size of this market fool you into believing they are a one trick pony. Besides groceries they have alot to offer. The bbq stand (outside near the back parking lot), plants, gifts, groceries, fresh seafood and meat counters, sandwich and deli counter, self serve hot prepared food bar, coffee and pastries bar, bar ( in the back patio facing the marina), and individual cold case drinks... and that is not everything. They have a backyard patio area and a small indoor seating area. During the summer, live music is held out in the patio. Everyone enjoyed the food items they purchased. Great offerings, prices (normal and comparable to simple places in the area), clean, organized, and beautiful simple decor and aesthetics. Plus they have the BBQ stand out front. It is open daily 11:39am-2pm. Serving up chicken (thigh $8.95, plate $18.95), Miller hot dog $8.95 and tri tip. I have yet to try the tri tip, but the chicken and hot dog are fantastic. Mmm. She invited us to her home for a tasting to make sure the chocolates were to our satisfaction (they were, of course). She also allowed us to try some new flavors she was working on, paired with some wine. It was so much fun and so delicious. We served the chocolates during our cocktail hour and they were a huge hit! There were none left over after the wedding. Eva also gave us an extra little box with assorted chocolates to eat on our honeymoon in Hawaii (which we did). Eva is seriously the best. My only advice: Don't chew the chocolates! Eva will literally yell at you because you're supposed to let them melt in your mouth. Haha! I recommend Eva's Delights to provide chocolates to anyone planning an event. I mean, who doesn't love chocolate?
