    I was renting a storage unit at extra space storage and I stopped renting from them because it's…read moremanaged by a nation wide management company and I couldn't take it anymore. Frequent and AGGRESSIVE rent increases and I had been renting a storage unit and I left because every 3 months they kept on doing AGGRESSIVE rent increases. I left extra space storage and I went to secure storage and at the time when I started renting from secure self storage the owner was who managed the storage facility and when I gotten my storage unit I was given a guarantee of NO rent increases for one year. Also the first month was a dollar and then each month after that was the regular price. Now the owner he still owns the storage facility but he has SAM storage assists management running his storage facility. Right away storage assists management BROKE everyone's lease and started new leases and now storage assists management SCREWED me out of the one year no price increases. If I am correct I do believe that by Wisconsin law that leases are supposed to be honored even if the management changes. Also I see that storage assists management is in a hurry to already be jacking up the prices and the first month is no longer a dollar but instead it's 50 percent of a month's rent. I already see that there's going to be frequent and AGGRESSIVE rent increases and how do I know that, storage assists management is saying that if a person does pay months ahead on the rent then for them months the price would not be increased. Now how many people have a lot of money to be paying up front for many months of storage in advance payment. Most people who are renting storage units are on a limited income and can only be paying one month at a time. Also storage assists management is forcing people to be having insurance on the items that they are storing in the storage units and the owner when he was managing his storage facility he didn't force people to have insurance on the things that they were storing in the storage units and get this if I now don't show proof that I have insurance on my belongings then storage assists management is going to be FORCING me to cough up a extra 15 dollars each month. This already doesn't look good at all. When I first started renting from security self storage, I told them that I got the hell out of extra space storage because of they were on bullshit. The guy in the rental office and this was before storage assists management started managing the storage facility he told me that there's been a lot of people coming over to security self storage and that they left extra space storage and most of them people they were cussing and swearing big time about extra space storage screwing them over. I'm now afraid that storage assists management is going to be doing the exact same things that extra space storage does. If this happens to me, I will be again going to be having to take my belongings and moving everything to another storage facility and I left extra space because management were crooks and were screwing people around and I had moved my belongings to secure self storage facility because at the time when I moved my belongings to security self storage it was managed by the owner and family owned but now I hope that storage assists management are not going to be scaring away customers like how extra space storage does. When I left extra space storage I ended up making a Facebook group called extra space storage scams and my Facebook group page has the green extra space storage logo on it and there's a lot of peoples online negative reviews that i copied from other reviews online platforms and I pasted on my extra space storage scams Facebook group page. Pretty scary frightening things about extra space storage. Another thing I am NOT happy with is that storage assists management is wanting everyone to make a list of everything that they are storing in their storage units and honestly I feel that is a evasion of peoples privacy and against HIPPA laws. I'm not storing any food items in my storage unit or anything that's illegal or anything that would pose any hazard to the facility and no propane tanks or explosives. I right now I have my review as I'm not sure if I would recommend this place and I have given only one star for now and I am putting storage assists management on a probation period and I will be adjusting my review once I see how storage assists management treats me. Don't sign a new lease, you already HAVE a lease for that space. No, they can't cancel the original lease. Educate yourself on your local renters laws and document everything the management company is doing. Pay rent on time. If they start violating the lease, research what remedies are available to you under renter's laws. Management is just banking on you not knowing the law. Tell them they are in breach of contract and you will pursue legal action if they refuse to abide by the lease.

Called around and most places were closed, full or uncooperative. Or this place. First, the owner answered the phone on a Saturday night at 9:30. The owner was great. Friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable for storage . We also needed a lock. They sold us one for $9. Can't beat it. This is the type of local business we like supporting.
