Giving them 1 star to encourage you to shop around. We received a quote from Stout which was almost 2x vs another provider. I'm sure their service is fine but the price difference is to be noted. Overall, there seems to be big price differences with trades these days in the Henderson / Vegas areas. Some seem to be taking advantage of the inflationary pressure, others are remaining very competitive. Smart for us to get multiple bids to save our hard earned money. read more

The owner (Rich) came out and gave me a quote (quotes cannot legally be changed - it is an agreement to do the work for a fixed price, only estimates can be changed) to install a breaker box shutoff for my Spa for $525. His workers come out to install it and they say that they can't install it in the location because the spa is right next to it. They said the box needs to be 3 feet away from the spa and they need to run a pipe along the wall into the breaker box with another pipe going to the spa. They call the owner and the worker tells him that he can't put the box there because of code. So the owner tells them to tell me it's going to be another $250. I had him call the owner back and I tell him he should have known all of this when he came to quote the job since the spa is right next to the box. When I told him he needs to honor the quote he said, "I'm not doing it" and then told his workers on speaker phone to "get out of there" and they just left. read more

I needed an electrician to check out a breaker that went out on us last night. I found them to be very easy to work with. I didn't expect them to get here the same day but they worked us in and will be here before noon today. I was treated with respect and they tried to assist me with GFCI's, that wasn't it, and resetting the breaker, that didn't work, then after trying to help me over the phone they are sening an electrician out today. They're unwilling to work with customers and told me to just go to another electrical company. They're purely just in it for the money and not about getting a win/win situation for both parties. A contractor referred Rick from Stout Electric to help with wiring concerning a new hot tub installation. Thank you Justin Wixom from Showcase Landcare Services for referring Stout Electric. Rick showed up promptly at 8:00am the next day and spent hours fixing various problems for the existing electrical concerns. His fee was very modest, especially for all he did. Rick even sent Bobby, another electrician, the next morning to finish a completely unrelated problem. This was done for free! Nobody in this town does anything for free. I found the one gentleman who does not take advantage of women. Bobby is like the electric whisperer. There is not a problem he can't fix. Plus, he has a great personality. I bought a chandler from Lamps Plus and a track lighting kit from Ikea. The chandler came in a box completely in pieces, the guys installed the fixtures with switches and put it together in great time and it looks great. The guy even checked out a motion sensor I had a problem with too ,for no extra cost.. The price was less than the electricians I found through Angie's List and the work was very professional. I have used Stout Electric a number of times in the past. Last week, I called to have two motion detector lights installed. They came down quickly to give me an estimate and the next day (12/30/21) they installed. The worker (Bobby) was quick and courteous and completed the job. During the night and into the next morning it became obvious that the two detectors needed to be adjusted. I called Stout back and even though it was New Year's Eve, they sent Bobby back and he quickly reset the two units. Unfortunately, I really wanted to like this company, but I need to be honest. I called to get a simple outdoor bubble cover installed over an existing outlet. I was charged $149.00 for about 5 minutes of work, and it won't even open. Extremely disappointing. A handy man could do a much better job, with less than half the charge. Not only do I feel ripped off, but now it's stuck closed, and it will have to be changed, which will be more expense for something that should be very simple. read more

Unfortunately I can't review the services as I never made it past the phone call. Called them on a Saturday and the service said someone would call me on Monday. At 2:00 in the afternoon I called them again and explained what I needed, 4 ring cameras hardwired and a ring doorbell as well as a couple of outlets on the interior of the home. Was told that this was too small a job but she gave me the phone number of a man that Could do the job. When I called him he explained that he did not do anything high voltage and that I should call them back. No thanks. read more

Called Stout not only was their bid a third of the price but Bobby ( his coworker was Jeremy I believe) were professional, friendly and efficient. They did good work installing the replacement lamp/post in front of the house (which I purchased from Home Depot for $150) after the first one rusted and blew over in the wind. The original quote was for $319, but after they got done my invoice was $450. They said it was $130 extra because they had to dig out the concrete from the previous pole. It was two guys and 90 minutes -- and that comes to $150 an hour for each of them. I think that's pretty steep considering all the wiring was there already from the old post. So, my review is is to tell you that they do good work but they are not cheap, and be careful not to expect your final price to be whatever they quoted you. read more
