I simply asked if they had a popular item in stock (as I was told by their sister store in manasquan that they were in stock at big fun toys.) I was rudely answered with attitude and shortness. Telling me her manager would be bringing the item in whenever she felt like it and would notify via instagram. She shrugged me off. When she realized how rude and unnecessary her energy was, she tried to overcompensate in friendliness. Nothing about this store was big fun, and not how a toy store should be!

Walking in here, you can tell it's not like other stores and you can just feel the beachy, summer vibes. Maybe that's just because of the associations I feel between this store and summer vacation, or maybe it's just because that's what this place is all about. It's a bit more expensive than some other stores, but you're 100% paying for convenience. It's one block from the beach and located right in the heart of Lavallette. In my opinion, it's a great place to have in the neighborhood.

She mentioned that it was her favorite store and an absolute "must visit" whenever she was in the area. Well, after stepping foot inside, I immediately understood why she felt that way. The shop was so meticulously curated with all kinds of unique gifts that you would not find anywhere else. These were not cheesy Asbury souvenirs, but expertly crafted pieces to display in your home, to wear as accessories, to give to your pet, and so much more. We both purchased several items that caught our eyes and made sure to praise the selection when talking to the cashier. I will definitely be adding this to my own "must visit" list going forward.

They have a lovely selection of hand-made cards, complete with quirky humor, perfect for the bride and groom I was shopping for. The shop itself is a vibe--cozy, slightly antique feel--with goods for your home, jewelry and more filled to the brim in every corner. The team behind the store made me feel like I was walking into a local deli or corner store in Brooklyn, talking with everyone and cracking jokes. A lovely unique shop, great for finding unique souvenirs or thoughtful gifts.
