Huge inventory, including a fair amount of older cards. Staff is friendly and informed. Pricing is very fair. I also highly recommend Berg's Smoked Meats or the Anchor Tavern for a meal while you are there. Belmar is a very nice town. I have made the trip to Sports Nuts from NYC a couple of times, and look forward to going again (once the Summer crowds die down)

Ocean Grove has a very nice 2 block section of Main Street that has many distinctive shops. We patronized the store in Asbury and were quite happy when the store relocated (and survived Hurricane Sandy). The proprietor is a very friendly sort who seems to actually like what he does and appreciates our business. Now that we have 2 grandsons, we will be frequenting the store. The store itself is a treasure of wooden toys, dolls, puzzles and books with hardly a battery operated toy in sight. Who knew - toys that allow children to use their imagination instead of a button. They have a great selection of Playmobile toys as well as a large selection of wooden train engines (Think "Thomas"), a favorite of our oldest grandson. Prices tend to be a little higher the the big box stores but this is my kind of shopping. Take a trip to Ocean Grove (the boardwalk was destroyed but the town is intact), visit all the shops, stop at Nagle's for ice cream and then go to the Store By The Shore.

One instance In particular I was made to feel very uncomfortable When I wanted points added for my purchase. The person ringing me up acted as if I was asking for something that I wasn't entitled to. Basically Since their computers were down she acted as if I was a nuisance.

Wrapped up and only giving me a tease of what it's about and only $5. Very excited to add this to my book-loving mom's gifts this year. The store has a variety of books, some new and some classics. I also love checking out their book club section on the far right wall for some recs for future reading. The team that was working that day let me know that almost everyone you see in store is a volunteer & that they host lots of events over the course of the year.
