The vendors on the floor are kind and relateable. They'll talk music or culture or just leave you to your business, depending on your vibe.

PROS: This place is loaded with records and comic books. They also have a selection of toys. The staff is very nice too. CONS: The place is small and the amount of inventory they have is cramped in. It's hard to maneuver around everything and some things, like the comic books, are in boxes you have to dig through. OVERALL: I may come here to check out the toy cabinet because maybe there's something in there that i like. But I wouldn't dig around in this for too long read more

Buyer Beware: All Sales Are Final I recently went to return an item I had purchased. The cashier informed me they do not accept any returns. She proceed to point out a sign located hidden behind the register which was buried beneath 3 other sheets of paper. Poor business practices. At least make the sign visible. Found some great vinyl at reasonable prices. Found a Ziggy Stardust with very little mileage on it. Spent too much money lol.

One word: 4 stars if it had a foot more space in its shoulder-width aisles... Jesus, if my coffin ever feels like that... But oh, the memorabilia. Which more than makes up for any temporary discomfort permanently, at least in this graveyard... Just remember to pause your gaze at the cool merch staring right back at you from all sides and try to focus on your elbows every now and then (or your bag's elbows you didn't know existed--mine has) in case, you know, you make that abrupt turn... Final word: Whether buying back a piece of your childhood memory is your thing, like my Hubby's, or your nostalgia is simply out on a whim, like my Hubby's, this is the spot in Asbury Park to start digging. It holds everything from books, comics, posters, vinyls to old toys and collectibles. I mean, everything from Scooby Doo, to He-Man, Ghostbusters, LoTR, horror figures and beyond are buried here. Again, Hubby digs here while I'm up two blocks away (at Rebel Supply) looking for gems myself... Though I try to accompany the guy for "approval"--to make sure there's actual space left in our little nest for his strange newfound baby(ies). Extra words: The graveyard is buried deep in the back of The Shoppes (at the Arcade) on the eastbound side of Cookman Ave. and across America's Cup. Happy digging! Seriously. Happy digging. Send out a loud yelp if you ever unearth Bionic Six. So far, we've only spotted Fluffy, as I like to call him, and no, I don't mean Hagrid's three-headed dog in Harry Potter. Their website is a SCAM! They'll take your money and never send you the item you ordered. When you place a order on their site you can only pay with PayPal. When you click on recent orders nothing will show up even though they already have your money. Don't get scammed like me. Now I'm trying to get my money back through PayPal. read more

Placed an order via their site. Didn't get a confirmation until I emailed asking if they received my order. Waited a month with no updates and nothing arrived. Reached back out, was told the items I ordered had been sold, and I was given a refund. Wasted my time when I could have been looking for what I wanted elsewhere. Asbury Park, NJ is a great, kitschy little shore town and an awesome place to visit, and this store makes it look even better. This shop is in a building with a handful of antique, crafts and vintage stores. Pretty much if you were a horror fan as a kid in the 70's or are into vintage film memorabilia, you will just love this place. Over the top with old 60-70's horror comics, posters, and games. Music albums and dvds, too, as well as old girlie/cheesecake mags. The plastic Bela Lugosi lawn ornament that someone topped with a santa hat and perched on a top shelf pretty much defines this store. Well worth a trip from wherever, walking distance from the train and bus terminal. read more

Amazing record store filled with all kinds of vintage gems not just vinyl. They have toys, b-movies, old comics and so much more. You could spend all day in here just looking around at everything even though its not a big space. I found an Alfred Hitchcock book from 1948 for super cheap and the records oh the records. Everything from the Circle Jerks to the Rolling Stones. All reasonably priced. read more

Just plain cool. Collectibles from 50's sci-fi to 80's horror to modern Pop Vinyls, and despite the smaller size of the shop, I'm confident that you could spend an entire day looking through the treasures therein. There's even some more .... "adult" fare behind the counter, if that's something you're looking for; my ten year old son, fortunately, was not. We found some great Godzilla collectibles, though! Probably the coolest store in Asbury Park . It's mainly a record store , but so much more . They have everything from horror memorabilia , to vintage wwf action figures , cool t shirts, toys , posters even DVD and VHS tapes . It's all cool stuff too. The owner ( I think her name is Regie) has always been willing to negotiate whenever I treat myself to a stack of records . Once she saw I really loved a certain record but was over my budget so I said out loud " gotta come back for this one " she threw it in for free. It's absolutely worth the visit . Amazing place to browse especially if you are looking for a gift for someone cool. read more

Bumped into there table today at the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market and being a huge collector of VHS tapes I was stoked to see they had original big box tapes from Wizard and Midnight Video. I had a few in my hands equalling up to a few hundred dollars and was ready to purchase before one of the men running the stand made a very backwards comment to me about my "knowledge" of VHS tapes and because of that comment they lost out on a pretty large purchase from myself. Being at a "punk" flea market does not mean disrespect your customers. read more

Cool little shop located in one of the malls in Asbury. Nice retro selection of vintage toys, games, posters, novelties, etc... Have a decent sized vinyl selection as well. Kind of small inside, but you will still see a lot of stuff as you rummage through the place. I could spend a lot of time and money in places like this!! read more

You really never know what you'll find in this shop. They have more trash culture crammed into a small space than should be physically possible. Records, comics, board games from the 70s, action figures in their original packaging from god knows when. Worth a visit every time you go to AP. read more

I LOVE this place. It's an amazing amount of fun to browse through their collections of cultural memorabilia. I've never found another store like it. They have genuine, vintage Movie Posters for less than a third what I payed in NYC and movies on DVD that I've never seen anywhere else. ( I think it's their own video label .. very cool stuff. ). I came because they were the largest record store at the Jersey Shore, but I come back because the new additions are always exciting. Definitely a very hip shop! read more

What a disappointment. Not much but if you do some digging you might find something. Pricing is a little over the top for just average condition records, not many collectable records. Mostly catering to hard rock classic rock standard stuff. read more
