This definitely isn't a place I'm going to revisit anytime soon. Prices on so much are a mystery,…read moreand I don't have the patience to keep taking whatever looks interesting up to the front counter to find out how much it costs. Having picked out two different cans from the beer cave, the clerk at the front counter rang them up and said "12". I paid, then headed into the L.A. night.... At a red light just down the road, I looked at the receipt: $12.93. Then it hit me that these didn't ring up correctly, and saying just "12" felt deceptive. Thankfully, I had asked for a receipt. One beer rang up as $5.39, and the other $6.39. Back at Circus Liquor a minute later, I pointed out to the same clerk that he had overcharged me... one can absolutely had a $4.99 sticker on it (and I, incorrectly, thought they both did). Pointing out the pricing discrepancy, he pointed at the can that didn't have a sticker and said "That one is $5.99." The receipt showed neither beer rang up at that price. Luckily, an older gentleman also working behind the counter stepped in at that moment and asked how we could resolve this. He offered for me to swap out the $4.99 beer for one more expensive to make up for the difference. That was fair enough for me. Yet, with the lack of prices, I looked for a fair trade and felt like my choices were limited. There are plenty of other options around and plenty that are completely transparent with their prices. Thus, I have no plans to stop by Circus Liquor again. If you do visit, I strongly recommend you ask for a receipt and check it! A second star is given only because the older clerk did a good job of diffusing the situation. The other guy was no help.

Looks divey but it's not.

This was my first visit, and I can honestly say it lived up to its five-star Yelp reviews. They had plenty of signs directing customers to the tasting and parking. Be sure to drive around Chick-fil-A and park in the back--it was easy to find. The moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and enthusiastically by one of the employees, who explained how the tasting worked. They also had a representative from one of the featured ice cream companies there, and together they let me sample just about every flavor they were offering. I probably tasted four or five flavors, and every one of them was incredible. Some of the unique flavors included Sweet Corn, Black Sesame, Mango, and Ube. I had never tasted anything quite like them! They also had a toppings bar, and both ladies offered recommendations on which toppings paired best with each flavor. Trust me--don't skip the cinnamon pecan topping or the sweet chili sauce. They sound unusual, but together they are absolutely amazing. What impressed me most, though, was the customer service. Every employee I passed greeted me with a smile. They genuinely cared about the products they carried and were happy to answer questions and share recommendations. Their friendliness and enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. First off and to be fair Store 2 Door is awesome for the service they provide! The people are friendly, the delivery guys are awesome, its an all around great place and a good idea. I have been going there myself for quite sometime and have had no complaints until now and this is why... In September 2013 California passed House Assembly Bill AB10, which approved the first minimum wage raise for Californians in six years. The bill will raise the California Minimum Wage to $9.00 per hour effective July 2014... Store 2 Door this is where you just lost me! I was told by one of the higher ups in the company recently that alot of their prices were going up in direct response to California "Forcing" this minimum wage increase on business's. Guys, Guys, Guys, Your business as it runs now is nothing without your employee's! You know it and all of your loyal patrons know it. Your raising of many of your prices from their current levels is nothing more then a "We are going to pout - kneejerk reaction" because as a rather successful small business with an up until now successful business model you are sweating at the fact that you might have to shell out another 20 bucks a week to your employee's because of California's more then fair decision!! This increase is not so that you can financially stay afloat, its only the owners and management reacting as small spoiled children because their hardworking employee's might scrape out another $15 or $20 per pay check! You think that by pulling this that it will create the illusion that somehow business's suffer when their required to provide a better wage for their workers and are forced to raise prices! ( BooHoo we dont want to but we have to ) A Dollar guys? A lousy dollar?? And you raise your prices on pretty much everything much more then that. Don't be surprised if this one comes back to bite ya in the keester kids! Stupid move and your going to lose business because of it. Your making enough $$$$ as it is so quit blowing smoke.... "OMG! Raising the Minimum Wage is going to bankrupt us!" None of us out here on the "left" are buying it!! Good for their workers who are hopefully gettting a dollar more an hour! They deserve it! read more

Stay the hell away. Idk what the hell happened, but you can't pay me to come back to this shith0l3. Employee's need to learn how to pick their pants up, no body wants to see your ass as you're restocking the shelves. They straight r3tarded or something, asked them to take the inside of the bread out and the guy assured us that they come that way already. Shoulda seen that as a red flag cuz I've never heard of that, guess that ones my fault. We Ordered ABLT and besides being bland and tasteless it was mostly lettuce. If i wanted that much lettuce I'd order a damn salad. My brother ordered a pastrami and took one bite and threw up. Looks like they didn't microwave the pastrami enough cuz it was raw and disgusting, i think the picture speaks for itself. I first found out about Handy Market on social media for their weekend BBQ about a month ago. As I had been craving bbq for a couple weeks now, I found today to be the best opportunity to give them a try. I placed an order for pick up the night before. I got kind of carried away with the order, as I wanted to try almost everything on the menu. The prices were absolutely insane! I think I ended up paying about 65 dollars for food that would easily feed me for a good 3 or 4 days. When I arrived to pick up my order at my pick up time, I had noticed my order was being packed. I asked the employees if I can leave my order with them for a bit so that I can pick up some meat inside the market. They obliged, and I went to the meat counter to order my beef back ribs to cook for tomorrow. For 5 pounds, I ended up paying about $34, which was definitely a bargain. They were also selling breakfast burritos and sandwiches in the store, which I found to be awesome. I took everything home and opened my bag of spoils. After I took everything out, I statted thinking of what I wanted to eat first and what I wanted to save for later. It was so much food that I thought I could feed an entire army. Definitely will be back for the breakfast burritos and sandwiches, and for the meats again, for sure!

As a loyal customer of this establishment for over two decades, I have consistently visited the…read moredeli and meats department at least once a month. However, I am compelled to rate this establishment one star due to a particularly unpleasant experience with a female deli employee whose first name begins with the letter "J." Despite my frequent visits, the overall customer service in the deli and meats department has declined. The season butchers have been replaced with individuals lacking the necessary experience and customer courtesy that were previously present. Over the past three months, I have encountered the same issues with this particular employee. It is important to note that the fee charged for slicing a Tri Tip into a carton container is not the primary concern. The issue lies in the employee's behavior and attitude, specifically their unwillingness to properly wrap the sliced meat. This has occurred on multiple occasions, most recently at the checkout counter when the cashier pull the foil-wrapped package from the plastic bag causing the juices of the meat to spill all over the counter. This has happened to me every time this employee has served me. The Tri Tip sliced meat is dry and devoid of juices due to this careless employee's failure to wrap the meat carefully. It is imperative that this situation be addressed. Management should provide this employee, "J," with proper training on how to wrap sliced food correctly. Additionally, it is crucial the ambiance that all employees, including the deli and butcher employees, maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor. A salutation is always appreciated. Despite these concerns, the BBQ remains outstanding as always.

When I first moved to this neighborhood I was really impressed by how many bodegas there are in a 1 mile square radius. (Some say bad thing, I always say good thing! Super convenient!) I travel a lot for work so I'm not home very often, but on my off days you can catch me in the restaurant in the back of the store buying two tacos every day! The tacos are good, and the total only comes out to $2.50!!! Even if I wanted to make my own tacos, there is no way possible that I could ever make them for even $2.50!!! This deal is so good that I am always here, it's way better than doing the dishes. I come here so often, that it doesn't even matter that I don't speak Spanish. If you plan on coming here and enjoying these delicious tacos as well, you better make sure that you can at least order in Spanish. The prices make this place a four star review, however the only knock is that most of the employees do not speak English very well. There is nothing wrong with that, however it can be difficult at times, especially because all the signage is in Spanish. I would like to try some of the specials, however my Spanish is broken at best and sometimes I have to take my girlfriend with me just to translate. They also make breakfast burritos that are delicious! Make sure to get the red salsa, it's pretty savory. I have yet to try anything else besides the tacos, burritos, and the tortas. But I can tell you that all three are made well. As if $2.50 wasn't a good enough deal for two tacos, they have a happy hour every day from 5 PM to 8 PM! Plus you can get whatever pregame stuff that you need for a night out on the town! Because you're at the liquor store already! My favorite taco (in case you were wondering) is the al pastor with red salsa! Try it!
