Was on the hunt for a really good bottle of bourbon. For the record, I know nothing about this liquor. But I have a good friend who is a bourbon connoisseur and was on FaceTime to help me Someone suggested that I go to fancy free on Burbank Boulevard. They had some decent bottles of liquor there, but not a good selection of bourbon. So I went to Yelp and a place close by was recommended. I called Alameda liquor to make sure that I was not gonna make another unsuccessful trip. The young man, I spoke to told me I'd called the right place because they had one of the best bourbon selections in the area. He did not disappoint. They have some great bottles at all. Price ranges. He was also very kind and respectful to me as I was completely ignorant, but he worked with my friend on the phone to pick a perfect bottle for a holiday gift. Whether you know what you are doing when choosing a bottle of liquor or not, this place not only has the variety of choices, but also the knowledge and patience to work with you for the perfect bottle. read more

Alameda Liquor is a hidden gem. Tony and his staff are genuinely great people--always welcoming and attentive. What really stands out is their fresh food. They have a full breakfast and lunch setup, and everything is made to order. The breakfast burritos are especially good--they'll customize anything exactly how you want it. You should definitely try their breakfast burrito with veggies... wow. On top of that, their drink selection is impressive. From wine to top-shelf spirits, they carry some hard-to-find, high-quality tequila and other bottles you don't usually see everywhere. Great people, great food, and a solid selection--definitely worth stopping by. read more

This place used to be amazing!, But for some reason, they hired some people who have no clue what they're doing, and I'm really not quite sure why, it's not really rocket science, you are behind a counter and should listen to the customer and take an order but consistently it's been a massive epic failure over the past several months. You order a breakfast burrito and you get a breakfast sandwich you pay at the cashier the cashier looks at you and goes. Can I help you?... my response is usually yeah do I not get change? It's truly a mess and very, very frustrating. I ordered a cheeseburger combo the other day and I get a cheeseburger and nothing else. Do I get an apology do I get any kind of face-to-face contact of sorry about that. Let me fix it. No nothing then I get some a hole customer who was probably half drunk telling me to go F my mama and nobody does anything about it so yeah I won't be returning and I know two other people that won't be returning either so you lost three customers ... I know it's not a big loss to you but at the end of the day this used to be an amazing place. You couldn't pay me to go back. read more

I came in for two breakfast burritos; one ham, one sausage. The menu says each is $6.99 plus $2 with any meat, so about $9 each. I also got two bottles of water at $1.50 each. With tax and CRV, I expected to pay around $22-$23. The cashier rang me up for $28. When I asked why, he said, "I thought you said double meat," which I didn't. He spoke in Spanish to the kitchen, then lowered the total to $25 and asked if that was okay; but didn't even insert in the cash register or give me a receipt. I didn't want to continue because I needed to go and didn't want to hold the line. I paid in cash to not deal with the extra surcharge fees but the whole thing felt sketchy. The cashier was dismissive and had an attitude when I questioned the charge. Also, I read some recent similar reviews and concerns from other customers about the store's ambiance. I used to come here a few years ago with no issues, but something has changed. The burritos are okay and the kitchen staff seem fine, but the pricing and customer service are not. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. ** THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE EXTRA FEW DOLLARS; BUT IT'S ABOUT THE SERVICE & THE PRINCIPLE. read more

I've been here twice so far and each time was wonderful! First time, I got a delicious chorizo quesadilla and the chef was sweet and attentive. Each time I was there I received great service and energy from the cashier. His recommendation on smokes was much appreciated as most places don't even know what to recommend. And the store alone should have something you're looking for as they have great stock of drinks and smokes. Thanks! read more

Stopped in for a quick beer and wine run, but decided to try the food counter and got the 16.99 pastrami sandwich combo, which I was told came with fries and a drink. At the checkout, lady behind the counter didn't know what to enter, so a guy came over to help her and I couldn't understand their language but I could hear him telling her to press "pastrami combo" and "fries". My total was around $21 so I was charged an extra dollar or 2 for fries. Food was good, but not getting it again because of that dishonest practice. Beer fridge has good selection and they have reasonable prices on pretty much everything, so only coming back for liquor. read more

I stop going after a few times of bad service. I order a breakfast burrito and lady behind the counter was rude. I asked what does it come with and she replies "what ever you want". I order but she didn't mention there is an up charge for most items. Burrito was okay. I also come at night and they also didn't mention they charge for using credit card. It's okay to charge a fee but at least be transparent about it. Final time was I was there, cashier was to busy talking with his friends that service was slow. Overall good selection but service needs improvement. read more

These guys are the epitome of customer service. I'm staying in a hotel due to an unfortunate circumstance in my apartment. I decided I wanna to get drunk by my pool today with my friends, in the hotel. But i didnt want to physically do any manual labor to get buzzed. I ordered the alcohol and refreshments through drizzly.com Screw them. Called. Emailed. Pigeon message. Nothing. Alameda liquor had my order ready for almost one hour and nobody was on track from drizzly to pick up. Alameda liquor offered to personally deliver my order to hotel after I contacted drizzly to cancel. I am super thankful for them and I will devote every cocktail to them tonight. Cheers!!!! read more

The few times that I've gone here to eat the service is fast and easy, I always get their carne asada fries which is amazing.

I read in a review for a place that specializes in breakfast burritos, that this unassuming liquor store served a solid breakfast burrito at the grill that shares their space. Now I'm not the best judge of breakfast burritos. I'm a bacon, egg and cheese, no potato purist. I don't even rock salsa. For that reason almost every burrito I get is skinny and anemic. This wasn't much bigger than most (i.e. Corner Cottage down the road), but it was piping hot, whipped up quickly and tasty; solid egg, smokey bacon and mild cheddar cheese. But at nearly $10 it was pretty overpriced for what it was. Staff was super-nice. I might return, just for how low-key it was, but my breakfast burrito quest continues. read more

Incredibly disappointed in both the high cost and the lack of appreciation for beer. Came here out of convenience, but had heard good things. Purchased a 4-pack of Three Weavers Southbounder cans and a bottle of an Italian brewed American IPA, a $7 bottle of Birra dell'Eremo's Fiera. If the liquor store has a well stocked and interesting selection of beer in a dedicated beer fridge, you would expect them to understand the basics of beer. This was not the case it would seem. And I'm disappointed in myself for not checking before I purchased. Unfortunately, the Fiera is over 3 years old. That is a hard-no when it's an American IPA. The glass at the top of the bottle was cracked when I popped off the top of the bottle. The beer is clearly expired and flat and flavorless due to the age and most likely the broken bottle. Please care more about your beer and the customers that you send the beer home with. Pay attention to expired beer, and get rid of it when it's no longer a faithful representation of the brewery that made it. read more

Bad customer service!!! Walked in there and asked for scratchers at the counter. The guy who attended me,a heavy set guy with a beard and eye glasses, directed me to go to the machine in back of the store and buy them from there. I asked him why I couldn't get them from the counter and he said, the machine here at the counter is broken. The guy behind me in line asked for scratchers as well and the same guy that attended me without hesitation gave him the scratchers he asked for. Maybe the worst customer service ive ever experienced. Never shop at this place. Also make sure to check the expiration date.

Just to keep this short. I experienced the worst service ever and was totally disrespected by the clerk. He had the audacity to blame me for his incompetence for things unrelated to me at a different time resulting in refusing me to make a purchase. And kept saying I was the reason he was reprimanded by his boss. Not only was he mistaken, but was just utterly rude. Shady and poorly run store. read more

Good food and an awesome selection of my favorite scotch among many others. I wish they were closer to home. They're definitely I place I'll visit when I'm in town. Very knowledgeable people at the counter which makes a huge difference when your dealing in high end liquor. I tend to think that when a place advertises both American and Mexican food, it'll fall flat. This food was very good and priced very fairly. The nice ladies behind the counter crafted a small snack for my 4 year old daughter since they only had 12" Hot Dogs and our of small ones for kids. I very special "thank you" to them for that. read more

"Hey mom, I'm going to walk to the liquor store!" Now that I think about it, that sounds really strange for a 10 year old to say, but Alameda Liquor was the cool place for the neighborhood kids to go. As a kid, I never even thought about the liquor. I would go there to buy candy and soda (and my friends would shoplift it). They also had a pretty decent deli here. In the parking lot, I once I saw Ed McMahon sitting in the back of his limousine. He probably needed some liquor before going on The Tonight Show. read more

Probably the BEST place to go for lunch if you want an AWESOME cheesburger/ philly cheesesteak/ breakfast burrito... DAMN ANYTHING! Willy's has the best hot dogs in Burbank. Period. The grill always smells awesome and the fries are cooked to order! Go in for breakfast, he will break you off some Great burritos and add some coffee to the mix MMM!! One other great thing is always ask for extra salsa. Ernie the cook grows his own peppers and makes salsa HOMEMADE!!!! The rest of the place is ok. Nice staff ( but they charge an arm and leg if you get a payroll check cashed or use your debit card) ive seen dust and expired food on the shelves (but since then its been well maintained) and one time I ordered an Italian and got AMERICAN cheese with no dressing REALLY??!! lol I stick with the grill! read more

I barely realized that the deli in this store was called Big Willies! I notice these massive hotdogs in the back walk-in when I would check on their inventory. After nearly 2 years of servicing this account I finally tired one of the famous big willies. First of all, the hot dog was sliced in half, and grilled on a flat. after it was nice and toasty on the outside, its got a layer of mustard, chili, and onion. Good stuff. You can make two meals out of if. Also In the morning up until 10:30am they make what are in my opinion some of the best breakfast burritos in the area! they come with your choice of meat (bacon, ham, or sausage) cheese, potato, egg, and if you like salsa inside. Ernie, the breakfast cook can make mean burritos! Alameda is also one of the most competitively priced liquor stores in the area. They don't honor advertised prices. Price rung up was $2 more. The cashier didn't believe me when I told him. He walked with me to the refrigerator to see for himself. Then he said he would be a nice guy and split the difference and give me $1 off. I didn't want to argue with the guy. Since he obviously didn't care about customer service or repeat customers.
