The best liquor store in Los Angeles. Well-maintained. Friendly and knowledgeable cashiers. Some rare bottles available now and then (most recently, I spotted a Weller 107 behind the counter). And they have a variety of Lucky Strikes, which I've discovered is a difficult cigarette to locate all over the city. The pièce de résistance (and the reason I've deemed them "the best")? They sell individual cocktail bags, a little grabby of mixers and minis, sometimes with fun accoutrements like edible glitter, rock candy, or an actual drinking vessel that you can keep forever (I've seen a moscow mule mug and a tiny cantarito). They're priced from $9 to around $20, and the store gives you one straw and one cup of ice per bag. There's unmetered street parking in front, and a Raising Cane's next door if you want to pick up a cocktail bag from Starz and some Cane's chicken tendies and have a day! read more

If I see a liquor store I always drop in and test my luck by buying a few Lottery tickets. This store has some collectable liquor bottles and some ice cream that is not sold in every store. You can also buy some cheap and some pricey pre-made party drink bags. read more

Can never decide on what to drink, or even how to make a nice cocktail? Well then you must come here and pick your poison. So many different options to get you feeling good to knocking you on the floor. Cashier was super nice and helpful. They even provide you with straws and a plastic cup full of ice. The dodger mural on the side of the building is just an extra plus. A must visit when in Burbank. read more

I had been seeing this place all over the internet and decided to try them when I came to visit! It is a nice liquor store, they have a ton of baggies to choose from. I loved this sour watermelon one, 10/10. You also get a cup of ice with your baggie purchase. I bought 5 baggies for a total of $65, which I don't think is too bad given the price of one drink in the area. The workers were nice. read more

This place is simply amazing and you have to check it out. First of all, they have these fantastic cocktail bags that you can mix yourself. It's so great because you get a delicious mixed drink without having to buy all the ingredients and whole bottles of alcohol. I've been in a few times to grab a drink and some lotto tickets. Today was the last time. The owner of this store is possibly the rudest person I've ever seen. While he has never been friendly in the past today he was obnoxiously unpleasant. And worse as I was getting in my car I saw him screaming at some lady for parking on the street in front of the store. You lost a customer for good today. read more

Starz Liquor has it all. From 10 minute parking out front, fun drink baggies, drink barrels for a bigger group to great customer service and a super clean store. Cocktail mixing bags come with so many options, ranging from $12-$20 to the barrels being $20-$100. Drink bags are strong and very creative! Besides the pre-assembled cocktail kits they have everything you need: drinks, chasers and even fun little things like edible glitter to make your drink a little more exciting. Any time we go in before a get together to grab something the owners are extremely welcoming and kind. You even get a cup of ice/bag with any bag or barrel purchase. Can not say enough nice things about this place. The people who work here are truly the nicest and most honest type of Burbank family. The store is clean and the prices are very low. The Owners here are super friendly and always welcoming to all there customers. They have a great selection of almost all drinks and snacks. I'm honestly not a big fan of liquor stores but I saw a TikTok where someone showed the different mixed drinks they had in baggies and really wanted to try them. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, not cringy like most liquor stores I've gone into. The lady at the counter was super sweet, I know I'll be going back soon. Starz Liquor is the best liquor store ever. I went into this liquor store just looking to buy beer but they had pre-made cocktails in baggies for like $11, never seen anything like it before, came with a free cup of ice and straw too. Went home tried it and it was awesome! They have a big selection for bottle too from cheap to high quality expensive ones. Starz liquor will be the only liquor store I go to from now on. Tiny selection of spirits which are wildly overpriced. Husband wanted a 1.5L bottle of Maker's Mark so I stopped in. They only had the 750mL and it was $60. I was sure that was a mistake so I asked the guy behind the counter. He confirmed that was the price. What? In what universe? I ended up across the street at CVS where the same bottle was less than $30, and the bottle which is double that size was still $13 less. Literally, $47 for double the size of their $60 bottle. I'm willing to pay a premium to support a local mom and pop, but that's not a premium. That's insanity. They need to re-think their markups. One extra star for the friendly guy behind the counter. read more

THE NEW OWNER ROCKS!!! As of September a new owner took over the place and made some great changes. it has turned into a very prestigious liquor store that loves taking care of each and every customer. Great recommendations with the best price in town. I got 20% off just by "LIKEing" their Facebook page. How cool is that :) they definitely have my business. This Place is literally THEBOMB Great selection of beers, wines, spirits etc. Prices are as low as it can get in the area. Awesome place to find all things a liquor shop has. Here at Starz Liquor they are stocked with premium brands, many of which are of the small batch craft spirit variety. Decent prices, unstuffy, casual shopping atmosphere, delicious premium spirits that isn't stocked in your average liquor store. Everything you need as it relates to the hobby of drinking. read more

Wow. Not sure how people think the selection of spirits here is good. I went in today to check it out and hopefully pick up some rum for drinks tonight. THe back shelves behind the counter were half empty. The only things up there were high end whiskey and tequila. The guy that came out to help me was very nice and asked if he could help. I said I was in the market for some rum. He looked over the shelves for a minute before responding, "Sorry, we don't have any". Seriously. A liquor store that doesn't carry rum. At all. Not even a bottle of Bacardi. I ended up going across the street to the CVS Pharmacy where they had about 10 times the selection. They did have a few decent bottles though. I noticed a Whistle Pig 111 that had a fair price tag. However, there wasn't many and 99% of the time I'm not looking to spend over $100 a bottle. Making this place pretty much useless as a liquor store. That said, they did have a great selection of craft beers in the fridges. I took a quick peruse and was impressed with the selection. read more

I love going into Starz Liquor for all the products but especially for the service. Ed and his staff always go above and beyond for me. I'm grateful that they are so close to me but even if they weren't I would still travel to see Ed and his staff. I highly recommend Starz Liquor for just about everything and anything. I guess he was a little "fearful of my backpack knocking into things, even though this never happened. Since I was the only customer at the time I felt like I was being watched like a hawk. The really surprising part about Reese is they have an adult video section in back of all things. I guess they're going for the full service shopping experience. The snacks are terrible overpriced here but I got some things to support this local business. Not sure I'd stop in again, but also will be a little more aware of the little things here. He always calls me "sir" if he calls me anything-----not sure if he's the owner's son but I wouldn't be shocked to find out he is. My wife, being the generous good-hearted soul she is suggested Burbank Reese as a stop-off-for-wine-and-beer place before we've gone to parties several times, and there was nothing about the experiences that would incentivize me to ever do it again. The last time we did this we were checking out the wines in the cooler waaaaay in the back of the store and the owner was suddenly interested in us--------not as a sommelier but to keep an eye on us in the most obvious and obnoxious way in case I wanted to stick bottles of his wine down my pants and up my wife's party dress so we could leave without paying. (We've owned a house in Burbank for 12 years and don't steal.) We bought 2 pricey bottles and a 6-pack anyway but as far as I'M concerned, it's buh-bye to this place as far as any future liquor expenditures are concerned, especially since the owner was very *blah* about the fact that we just spent $60 in his store. P.S. If you like the lottery, they have a big display of Scratchers right in your face at the front counter, but the owner doesn't give you the impression he enjoys dealing with them or the lotto games. Also they have a Scratchers machine next to the main entrance that is unplugged most of the time. (To save electricity?) When I asked the owner why it's unplugged his answer was something like: "the tickets are all the same." ALL THE SAME??? What if there's a $10 million winner in the unplugged machine?
