Without ever seeing anyone, the unit was rented, paid for and available 24/7. Upon moving out we simply emptied the unit, left it broom clean, closed but unlocked & our security deposit was returned. I did have to wait about an hour into my allocated time slot, but for me, that was fine since they gave a window of time and arrived within that window of time. Practical advice for the storage process: - I recommend to people who are using this service to use their boxes that they provide so that they aren't able to argue about the prices of your items. - Don't be last minute (i.e. book the appointment right before your flight) - I wasn't able to carry my things out of my room (and I don't have an elevator), the in-room pick up is worth the $20 if you need it! I kept getting emails for an open balance that was never posted onto my account and then when I called the amount told to me was different than what was posted. My daughters said the actual delivery guy was very nice but the administration is terrible to communicate with and it is already expensive and they still nickel and dime you. Worst place ever…read more Initially the staff was indifferent to my arrival to check out the reserved vehicle. Finally one man got me checked out after a lot of waiting around. The restroom in the UHaul facility was a health hazard! It was completely disgusting, dirty and there was no toilet paper. The staff actually seemed to be quietly laughing when I or my wife communicated these issues. The truck I rented had completely torn drivers seat, the steering wheel was worn out and very disgusting to even touch. The parking brake release was broken. Total safety hazard: the low beam headlights were extremely dim. Very hard to drive at night, and unsafe. The high beams: driver-side light didn't work at all, and the other point crookedly up at the sky. Totally unusable. The rear view mirrors were impossible to adjust. The staff was completely unresponsive to any comments or suggestions - so first change: new staff. This is the single worst transaction I have ever encountered!

The maintenance person is now friendly and fixes things as soon as he can (within a couple of days). Our unit was repainted and some of our original concerns were alleviated. We still smell weird things through the vents sometimes but that's just because the individual unit vents are all connected. Since you're on the commons, you're bound to get screamers here and there after hours but opening windows on the other side of the house or earplugs can solve that. I want to say that my move with these guys went well for the most part. They were very careful with…read moremy belongings and put them exactly where I wanted them. What I was not happy with was the bait and switch estimate that they gave me. They quoted me 3 hours for the job. They were more expensive per hour then the others who quoted but I figured because they could get the job done faster, I would hire them. Well the job took 4.5 hours and they charged me for five hours. They promised me three men to do the job and they showed up with two men and a woman. I am a feminist and am all for this, but the woman couldn't lift anything heavy so I would say she just stood around for 30% of the time. This means that the job took longer than it would have with three men like they promised. Finally, I discovered that two of my dressers were ruined in my storage unit when they got them to the apartment. I asked the movers if they would take them to the dump. They agreed and I was very happy about this. They saved me the time and effort so I reflected this in their tip. Well this morning I went to throw away some trash in the small dumpster on my apartment complexes property and there are my two dressers right next to the dumpster. This company and its workers are very shifty. They promise one thing and do not uphold their promises. So if you get a bid from them, I suggest you are very cautious to evaluate if the time estimate is accurate. And don't trust their workers either. They will promise you one thing and do quite another.
