By comparison, JHM was charging about a dollar less per gallon at the same time, with no fees or catches. It was a no-brainer to switch providers. They patiently answered all of our questions (and there were a lot), and were total pros when they came to do the tank changeout. They releveled our previous sinking WOC tank and set it neatly aside our driveway so WOC could easily remove it. JHM also installed a new input assembly, which WOC had improperly installed at ground level (it's supposed to be over a foot off the ground). Service has been great since the change. Any fluctuation in cost has been subtle and reflective of market conditions, not price gouging like WOC engaged in.

The extra fuel that was delivered by mistake today needs to come out of the tank. I have to be home at the time they come to babysit. Economy used to be the best place for many years to buy your heating needs. We never had problems with anything ever until the place changed hands. And yes, I will do us both a favor before next winter and find a new supplier. I do like to support our local vendors. Hunters lie destroyed that. When you make a mistake own it!

When I initially signed up, I was never charged a tank rental fee, yet out of nowhere AmeriGas began charging $118 per year and refused to waive it. I have two accounts with them at the same property, and they are now attempting to charge rental fees for three tanks without any prior agreement. When I called to address this issue, I was placed on hold for 44 minutes, only to speak with a representative who was rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to resolve anything. Too often, calls are routed to representatives who are difficult to understand, making an already frustrating experience worse. This has been, by far, the worst service I have ever experienced with any energy provider. To make matters worse, if you attempt to cancel, AmeriGas charges an additional $299 just to pick up their tanks. Beware--this company will find every possible way to charge you, with little regard for customer satisfaction.

Each year that they do an automatic delivery, on a date that they choose, at time when they are able to to pass on the most expensive price per gallon to homeowner. Current June delivery came in at $6.60 per gallon at 119.8 gallons. In NY the cost of propane for the year of 2025 has never exceeded $6.00 per gallon with the closest runner up being Manhattan, coming in at just under $4.50 per gallon....So this does not make much sense. If you are looking for a transparent and honest seller of propane, I would reconsider any inclination to use suburban.
