Looking at storage units. They sell boxes and supplies for moving. Office is clean. People friendly.

Showed up extremely late with not enough room on the trailer, they said the previous job…read moreunderestimated and it took almost 5 hours longer than expected so they wanted to reschedule - not possible as we had to leave that night to make our closing/posession date 13 hours away. We scheduled the movers for the day before for a reason. Called the guy we dealt with to discover he was back east (ontario) we were out west BC and dealing with dispatchers and moving crews in both BC and AB. They reluctantly crammed all our boxes in and we had to make arrangements for a next day pick up with our neighbour letting them in for the furniture we wanted. They didn't show up or call the next day and were not answering emails or calls from me but finally answered for my husband (dif number). It took days of them avoiding texts and calls for them to pick up the rest of our load, had multiple drivers calling to try to convince us to bump the dates, speaking down to me as a woman, had to get my husband to deal with them as they were a bit more respectful with him on the phone. Our landlord was pissed as we had a set move out date and he paid contractors to start work in the house they couldn't start. it was a move for reno and sell. they delayed way too long and the last day we had any legal access to the house we had to threaten getting our lawyer involved because we would lose our furniture as we had no rights or access to the property after midnight and they were in breach of the contract we sign and the verbal contract on moving day to make things work for their mess up. They had our belongings picked up after 9pm that night. They put our first load in storage without telling us (which we were promised direct load delivery and stressed no storage before putting down a deposit and signing the contract) we were told delivery window in 3 days of pick up... and it took over a week to get everything on one truck and then scheduled for delivery. They let us know the weight and bill 1 hour before delivery and it was extremely over the weight we estimated. 40 boxes and 6 pieces of furniture, no couches/sofas/large beds/appliances the heaviest piece was an empty china cabinet me and my elderly mother could move, nothing crazy or anything and there was no way the weight was 2500lbs more than what we calculated. Even if every single box was overweight and every item over estimated and we added a few hundred lbs. My husband is a trucker and asked when they fueled up the dispatcher laughed and told him he didnt know and that doesnt matter, it sure does as it adds 800lbs so as a dispatcher billing by weight you should know that. Even with all that extra over estimated and added there was still 1 ton unaccounted for. Did not provide us with the scale ticket despite asking for it and demanded payment as the movers were already on route. No way to prove it, we had to suck it up and pay it before the movers arrived to get our things. Boxes were busted open and furniture was not wrapped properly, so there were scratches and dents all over some of the furniture and even a crack in my solid wood desk. $350 deductible for claims wasn't worth dealing with them again. They talked real good and sold a smooth stress free move before moving day and promised things they couldn't deliver. NEVER again, I would recommend avoiding these crooks. It will cost you!

UPDATE***Owner's name is HOFIT AZUELOS. She's from Miami and her family owns many moving companies…read more They ARE NOT "family owned" in Boise for generations like they'll claim on the phone. They scam everyone. They will charge you double what they tell you your estimate is, charge you in increments and demand cash for the last payment. WALK AWAY. Complete BS. Get a quote in WRITING on paper before you agree to any moving company contract. This company is doing ILLEGAL business. LIES from the beginning. Don't fall for it. Taking to small claims. DO NOT use Western Van lines. They quoted us $6500, walked us through each room and item twice. Also said they compensated extra in the quote. Claimed to be family owned in boise. Once the truck was loaded at 9pm after 8 hours they said the cost was $12k+!!!!!!! We were livid! Not how we wanted to leave our home. They're now telling us at least 13k. We aren't done moving with them but we were extremely upset. Next time we will research better, if there's a next time. Had i known we'd be grossly taken advantage of, i would have sold everything and bought it new in idaho! we are a young family with little kids. So upset they're taking advantage of people like this. Edit to add** they emailed us a link to the quote which has conveniently disappeared. Also they worked this system well. They charge us increments as we go and the last payment is cash only.

We were given an estimate for about $3,300 based upon an estimated 534 cubic foot move. We were…read moretold we'd get a Friday afternoon pickup and then weekend delivery. They gave the contract to Mosley Van Lines who picked up our furniture on Friday night. While loading, Mosley said that the estimate was probably too high and that we'd owe less than the estimate. After the truck was loaded at 1:30 a.m., we were told that our furniture took up 1400 cubic feet, the cost would now be about $6,400, and that we would lose our $1,600 non-refundable deposit if we backed out. We had no way of verifying the 1400 cubic foot representation absent removing everything from the truck, which would take hours and it was already 1:30 a.m. On Saturday, we called First United & Mosley to get a delivery ETA. Both companies told us to our surprise that they never deliver on weekends. On Monday, Mosley delivered the wrong furniture. Then, the following Saturday (notably, on a weekend), Mosley delivered our stuff. When Mosley delivered the furniture, it was clear that our furniture took up only about 720 cubic feet on the truck. I measured. Mosley refuses to refund the excessive charges that are clearly based upon fraud. For their part, First United claimed that they would be an advocate for me, but I don't think they have actually advocated for a refund. In fact, they seem rather defensive of Mosley's fraud or, at best, neutral.

Short version: Do not use First United Moving and Storage. You will regret the decision for the…read moreduration of your move and for months afterward. This is the worst company I have ever worked with in any capacity. Do not use their services. What First United sold as a product was miles away from what was received. There are some positive reviews of the company, especially for local moves in Florida, I cannot speak to that, but as a long-distance mover, the only advice you need is to stay far away. The key service a broker should provide in a long distance move is arranging the transit and hiring good local teams---First United fails on both fronts. They ended up charging 150% of the original quote ($3000 vs $2000) and the contractor they used (Energy Moving) was horrible (look up their reviews). As I said, this is the worst company and worst service experience I have ever had---worse than cable companies, worse than used car salesmen, worse than any customer service experience you've had. It is actually difficult to find reviews for First United, but look at their Google reviews (search First United Moving and Storage), and My Moving Reviews if you want more confirmation to stay away. If I could only preserve one review on the internet, it would be this one. Working with this company is the worst consumer choice you can make. Additional Info: I was initially sold the product by a "manager" Travis Scott. If you read the reviews on other sites, you will see his name come up elsewhere. Below is the letter I sent to him describing my issues. In addition to what is discussed below, he also did the trick on me of promising it would be by weight then charging by the sq. foot instead. I assumed that was a confusion on my part, but it seems to be his standard practice based on reading other reviews. So, I probably gave Travis too much credit for honesty. The email is attached as a picture if you want more information.
