Stuffed lobster tail
Rich R.

Delicious as usual, we go here regularly, always friendly staff, food and drinks are great.

Diablo chicken pasta. It was very good

I have been to this restaurant a few time each year over the past 10 years. I have never had an issue with any of the dinners I have ordered. The decor is a little dated. I always hope that things get better for this restaurant. Maybe a facelift for the restaurant and better advertising will help this place gain more customers.

Pleasantly surprised by how good our meals were. This place has been around for awhile and started out as a nightclub. Now it's a restaurant/bar. We had a party of 8 and everyone loved their meals. My husband got the 16 oz. lobster tail paired with the 10 oz. fillet. It's not on the menu, but they said they can pair any steak with any size lobster, etc. Both were cooked to perfection. I had the maple glazed salmon, also perfection. Many desserts to choose also. We'll definitely be back again

We had an enjoyable time here at Stoppers. Sat at the bar on a Sunday at 4pm having a few drinks and grabbing a bite to eat. Sat at the bar for almost 4 hours relaxing. The restaurant is decorated in a really warm and welcoming way with something interesting to look at almost everywhere you lay your eyes. The bar was mostly empty which was good, we had the whole plamostly to ourselves. The guy behind the bar was extremely friendly and polite which was a pleasure to be around. The food was most delicious too! We ordered wings, 2 orders of stuffed mushrooms, a cheeseburger and a crab cake sandwich (See my pictures). The food was great. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars was that the delicious crab cake was a lil smaller than normal and my awesome cheeseburger should have been on a brioche bun and not a reg .99 cent bun. With that being said, at that point eating I really didn't even care about it because I had really enjoyed my stay there.

Yum

Nowhere in Berks County can you get broiled haddock like at Stoppers... It flakes off in big chunks and the sauce is incredible!

Service was trarible. Never even said hello. Didn't want to move our seats. Then no table manners at all. And no subing on menu.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

Outstanding experience. (Hope this review makes up for minor squabbles about Gracie's, which I too…read morelove!) Located a bit out of the way in the Flying Hills golf course, but worth the drive. Sports bar- Eagles vibe w/ a decent draft list. The kegs weren't working (seems to happen at every bar we attend these days) but still enjoyed a Mike & Merrill Philly Hazy IPA. Wings a good size, crisp, you know, the way wings used to be before everyone started charging an arm & a leg & serving broken pigeon wings. Classic "Buffalo" sauce & blue cheese dressing were good. FINALLY tried famous Caramel Burger (which I missed several times at the Hamburger festival). It did not disappoint. Good size, flavorful patty, & what these people do best- the bacon jam & caramelized bacon. The sweetness of the onions sings thru. Order it! Husband ordered seasonal special Frikadellen/Bratwurst Smash Burger. Skipping right to it- the cottage fries. (Gracie's/Louie's if you had this all the time we'd have no beef! LOL) INCREDIBLE! Crisp, thin, tender, amazing. If you follow me you know I am over the frozen fries served at every eatery in this country. Finally, amazingly pleasant, genuinely happy, server- Reese. She was on my side throughout this whole foodie journey, even the beer & burger mishap (initially burger served w/o cheese sauce). She's a keeper! We'll be back & will spread the word! Till then, stay on your toes! Thank you Louie's for a great meal.

The range of available beers will suit everyone in your group. I am a local. This is my regular, go to spot and I've been to every craft brewer in Northern Lancaster and Southern Berks Counties. The staff is exceptional in helping people select beers. The food compliments the beer offerings. The rotating variety of egg rolls is unique. If you remember the former brewery, which shall remain nameless, forget it. Rural City will blow it away. Drop in and say hello to Ben and James (the owners). You can sit wherever you'd like and there are games and stuff to use while you're there. For a beer company, the selection was fairly small. They did have canned cocktails that were local though!
