He would wait until the wee hours and feast in the pantry... leaving droppings and crumbs inside the cabinet (inconsiderate)! I called my condo building's vendor for pest control--they said they were not available until the next week AND would only lay bait traps in my house, not try to find the source of the problem. I asked one of my friends for a pest control referral and they too weren't able to come out for a week. After searching online, I decided to call Diamond. They were able to come the very next morning (a Sunday) and I asked that they come as early as possible. Brian arrived on time at 8:30am and took the time to investigate the problem by moving my appliances to find the source of the problem. The culprit: a hole around our oven's gas line providing access to our kitchen and ultimately, to the pantry. Brian sealed it immediately (as well as patched some other potential problem areas) and the price was extremely reasonable. Its been months and we haven't had a problem since. We appreciated Brian's work so much, he will now become our entire building's pest control vendor (we fired those other guys).

I thought that when they came back in 10 days for an inspection that they might offer some more advice. Guess what? They never came back. To add insult to injury they then sent me an email weeks later saying my bill was past due. I had given them my cc number to charge, but for some reason it didn't go through. They said they had called me about this, but I never received a call or voicemail. This was also the first email that I'd received about it. I was told to call and give them a new number but they never accounted for the fact that half of the services agreed to in the contract weren't provided. I still have rodent activity. It was set up very poorly and unprofessional, and we later found out he was in violation with the way the trap was set up. There was nothing to protect our roof shingles from the animal if the animal was ever caught, which in our case, the animal was NEVER caught. He placed a can of cat food inside the trap and then he returned without our knowledge and placed another can of cat food and left the old can of cat food inside the trap that stood inside the trap for over two weeks, so you can only imagine the insect maggots that accumulated. He never returned our phone calls. He took our money and we never heard from the guy. ***** WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. ******

He was almost immediately able to figure our where our unwanted friend was coming from and also pinpointed some other spots that he would seal just in case. He also did an external check of the building and is working with my landlord to address the issues outside. Ron was informative, sensitive, and 100% put my mind at ease in this extremely unsettling situation. He explained everything he was doing and why and was sensitive to my situation as a dog owner. He did not use any sort of poison and was careful to put traps out of reach to my dog. We caught a rat the first night and was on call night and day to dispose of the dead rat and investigate any sounds or issues. Ron will be the first person I call for any pest related needs moving forward and I would recommend him to anyone in a similarly disturbing situation.

He presented a contract for 5 -7 days of trapping (for $598), sanitizing treatment (for $495), and exclusion fencing around both the crawl space and the adjacent deck (for $1,999). I then called Animal Trackers Wildlife Company. Their agent was every bit as thorough and competent. He set a trap at the entrance of the skunk burrow (for $135 and with an additional $95 if he needs to reset it). The Animal Trackers Wildlife Company agent gave sound advice: 1. Block and cement the perimeter of the crawl space. Use garden pavers and concrete. Don't worry about the area under the deck since it's never been a problem. Clearing out the entire area under the deck wouldn't hurt. 2. Don't waste money on sanitizing. It doesn't help. "If there were some treatment to sanitize the smell away, we would be using it too!" 3. For forced air heating systems, change out the furnace filters every few days so that the order isn't forced to move all over the house. After spending $135 on trapping, I feel confident that the problem is well under way to be solved. The odor is nearly gone already just by ventilating the crawlspace. This is not the first time I have gotten extraordinarily expensive advice from Orkin or Orkin affiliates. My motive for posting this review is, in fact, to save other customers from needlessly expensive treatments when less expensive and equally effective alternatives are available.
