Took my car in for an issue with the traction control after another shop replaced the axles and the problem started. I took the Sequoia back to the other shop 3 times and was months without my car and they told me they couldn't figure it out. Once I brought it to John he called me the same day and said it was a bad sensor connection and that he wasn't gonna even charge me. Gotta love an honest mechanic. I brought my car in because of an issue I was having with my brakes shuddering. John took a look at it, determined that the problem was a minor warp on one of the brake rotors, and said it wouldn't be unsafe to drive. He told me, "We can replace this, but if it was my car, I wouldn't bother at this point." Didn't charge me a dime for his time, either. vehicle was 2014 Ford Expedition XL 4WD. Got new struts on each wheel. Owner is very well informed on struts. Even Ford had a hard time figuring out which struts fit this vehicle and screwed up twice in a prior replacement. The guy at the counter is the guy who does the work which means nothing gets lost between the counter and the repair. Based on my experience I recommend this place for suspension and brakes. This place is FANTASTIC! I had a fuel gauge problem, and John and Brian took my entire back seat out just to check it out. RUDE. Unprofessional. I walk in and wait to get help. Some employee asks if I need help with anything already giving me an attitude. I literally describe the issue that I'm having with my brakes for no more than 20 SECONDS then asks me if I had them done at this shop. I said no, I had them done elsewhere and was looking for help. He said verbatim with an attitude that I wasted "10 minutes of his time". I asked him if there was any help I can get from this shop and asked me to go somewhere else. All I remember was his last name being "Dover" on the business cards presented on the counter. Here goes: My truck kept turning over but would not start. I called John at Stop Brake Shops and he gave me some helpful tips to see if I could trouble-shoot it on my own. Unfortunately, the fuel pump went out, so no can do and had to get it towed to the shop for a repair. I called AAA and they towed it, but I was over on the mileage for the free towing. John offered and paid the difference! He had it repaired within the time he promised and it's been running like a champ ever since. He was honest, came in under what the estimate was, accommodated and paid for the difference in the towing, arranged for me to be picked up from the car rental agency when I returned my rental car, and he had my truck back to me on time. If that doesn't demonstrate good business, I don't know what does or what Yelp wants. It seems their filter keeps hiding all of the good reviews and kept the one negative one. Needed to get my brakes checked out before a long road trip to Utah for the holiday . They checked them out and called me to let me know they were in good shape and they would check all the fluid levels in the car also. When I went to get the car they did not charge me a cent! So I haven't had time to get back to Yelp about my first review on Stop Brake Shops, so here goes. Yes on August 20, 2015 John at Stop Brake replaced my husbands window in his truck for no charge. This was a kind thing to do, and we appreciate that. I didn't sign up for yelp to say intentionally say bad things about companies, but I felt we were being mistreated when we changed the fuel pump by ourselves and found out what part it was. Let me tell you a little story. My wife was driving our 2007 F150 when it started shuttering and missing. Upon taking it to a (will remain anonymous) shop they called me and said we'd been driving it with no oil in the engine and somehow we needed a head gasket. They quoted me a price that was way too low for a head gasket job. Something seemed fishy so we looked around at more shops by my wife's work and found Stop Brake Shops. Took the truck in. Got a call back from John who promptly said it wasn't a head gasket - it was a bad intake manifold! I said nothing to John at all about the previous shop when I took it in to them. John then quoted me a very reasonable, honest price for the work to be done. Bottom line - one shop lied to me to make about $1000 more off of us and John at Stop Brake Shops gave me the truth. They did excellent work and our truck runs like new. To top it off the guys are all great people. They are old school, honest mechanics who know everything about every car. THAT is hard to find these days but there's one right there in Diamond Bar. Kudos guys. You have a customer for life. Just got back from seeing John at Stop Brake Shop as I was referred by Hami from ATC next door. I told him that my 2014 Chevy Volt was making a grinding sound from the brakes , but that something could have been caught inside as the grinding noise stopped as I was bringing the car to his shop. He spent time and checked all my brakes for me, and informed me that the pads were nice and thick and there was nothing wrong with them. I am so grateful to them as many shops are not honest and would have done the repair even though it was not needed. My rear bumper was misaligned and popped off while I was driving along the freeway on the way to a dentist appointment. When I arrived I told my dentist what had happened and she recommended I visit Stop Brake Shops around the corner. She said the men who worked there are two very kind and honest gentleman who have done a lot of work for her in the past. I took her advice and and she was right. I was thrilled with their service and kindness. They spent 45 minutes in the 100+ heat fixing my bumper and ended up not charging me for it.
