Well, as I thought they were getting things on track, it only takes one department to make you wonder. Got my produce, made my way through the aisles, stopped at the deli department, only to have the lady putting cheese in pre-made packaging look at me several times without even acknowledging my presence. Then the gentleman looked at me and asked me what I wanted. I indicated thinly sliced with no response. Truly disappointing that neither of them smiled or acknowledged my presence. They truly need to work on that department, as it truly takes away from the rest of the departments. read more

I am absolutely livid! I go to this Stop & Shop regularly, not because I want to or that the selections are so good, but it is the closest one to me. I picked up a few items and was waiting on the express line to pay. My hands were full and I was having a hard time with items falling. Aisle 6 had a person standing in the aisle. His name is Zach. Well Zach watched me struggle but did not call me to his register. In fact as it was going on he turned away. Since he did, I thought he was not open. Shortly, a youngish lady walked in front of me and got behind me for express too. I guess Zach liked the way she looked because all of a sudden, his register was open. He called her over and left me, THE PERSON IN FRONT OF HER, struggling to keep my items from falling. That was inappropriate and I can only assume this was racially motivated. That is unacceptable and this location needs to speak with its staff about treating ALL customers with respect. read more

I was shopping in the Bellmore stop & shop. I was at the deli and although I'm not a big fan of the deli mgr I had a very polite young man named Shaolin. He was extremely conscious of customer service. When I asked him to give his name so I could leave this review he told me this was his first deli job. I was shocked. As a veteran deli mgr I have to say that this young man should be groomed for a future mgr. great job! read more

They suck. I ordered early and they show up at 10:30 pm wo my Order. Driver shows up, rings my bell. I did not hear them. My dogs barked. He says his manager said not to deliver my food. Never again. I rarely speak out. 0 star had to give a star or my review was nit accepted. read more

Employees don't know or care to help customers find things, cashiers few and far between, they often don't help bag and don't have a bag person. Store busy means you wait, was just there, only one employee in the front with customers everywhere, it's a total sh*t show that screams "we don't give a sh*t". read more

Mom always said, "If you can't say anything nice... don't say anything at all." Well, uh, this girl never really liked to listen to her Momma... If there were an award for the most frustrating, soul sucking grocery store, this stop and shop would take the gold medal on a pedastal with freaking streamers and ticker tape flying everywhere. The following factors work against this sad excuse of a neighborhood supermarket: - Corner lot on two extremely busy streets. Holy congestion just trying to pull in/out of lot. - Two entrances on both sides. Sounds conveient but it is actually confusing. - Much smaller then all nearby S+S, which translates to a smaller selection. - Narrow aisles, lower ceilings and the overall lack of natural light make me feel a little more stabby than ususal inside. - Produce is iffy quality and limited quantity. - Hot and cold staff. Most will never make eye contact with you. - Packed like a sardine can most days. Not sure why folks go here, but I suppose the merrick store is equally as frustrating. Avoid at all times before 9pm if you dont want to deal with invariable feelings of depression or anxeity. If you do have to stop and shop: Massapequa, Farmingdale and East Meadow are all better stores within 8 miles. Otherwise, there are other specialty markets in the area. read more

This store is just awful. Nothing ever works in this store. Bottle return machines won't accept store brand bottles. Brought them inside for the lousy 15 cents. Was told they don't accept bottles in the store, I would have to use the machines. Told them machines don't accept three store brand bottles. Told me I had to go outside and wait for maintenence. Like I have 20 plus minutes to wait for 15 cents. Problem is nobody at the store cares Wanted to buy fish today. Waited 10 minutes at the counter. Asked a worker if anyone worked at the counter. He said he'd get someone. Another 5 minutes, he came by again and said someone is coming. 5 minutes more (20 minutes in now), nobody shows. Couldn't wait any more. No fish today. Bathrooms are vile. Grosser than a gas station bathroom in the South Bronx. The touchl pad to get a self-checkout gun has been hanging by a thread for over a month without repair. You should all know that Stop n' Shop ADJUSTS their prices to the incomes of it's areas. What does this mean? YOU are paying more here- than I do (my local Stop n" Shop is in Huntington Village- prices are LOWER here-- I have NO IDEA WHY? Huntington Village is attached to mega-RICH areas like Lloyd Harbor and Cold Spring Harbor! ). The prices here in Bellmore were like 10 to 20% higher than most other Stop n Shops ! Which tells me that you people in Bellmore make a lot of money AND STop n Shop knows that. How does that make you feel ? P.S. The shitty Pathmark that was formerly here was super expensive too. This is not a great stop and shop as the store is small and crowded. Long lines for check out is common. And every time I shop here they are always blocking the aisles with pallets as they stock the shelves. Soda aisle is often decimated and they're always sold out of diet coke. The staff is a bit off and not too friendly. They closed for a renovation last year and when it reopened it looked the same they just moved stuff around. I like stop and shop and this is the one closest to me but unfortunately this one sucks. read more

I'm so upset about the reviews that I have read. I have been shopping there for many years and out of all there stores in this area they are so very kind. I have to tell you it's from the customer service desk to the produce and every isle. They truly go out of there way for there customers. I almost feel like I know them personally. So please sometimes people are upset because they are out of stock or just having a bad day and that's ok but please try to be mindful, they are and have been open and trying to navigate this new normal and I applaud each one of them. I'm not a big fan of super markets in general. This place is smaller than most Stop and Shops. The parking lot is small and tough to navigate because of all the cars coming in and out. There never seems to be enough cashiers to ring you out so you will have to wait on long lines. If you shop here on a weekend or near a holiday you won't be able to avoid crashing into other carts because the place is small. They have a pharmacy, bakery and a deli. The deli is great because they have a touch screen where can order your cold cuts and you can come back later and pick it up. I had to buy a cake from the bakery once and the service was very good. The person behind the counter was very friendly. The prices are ok if you shop the sales. The regular prices are a bit high. read more

I have to admit that I'm not crazy about this specific Stop & Shop, although I do love this chain of grocery stores. It's a small store & the parking situation is not the best. I am bitter that they were completely out of salted Breakstones butter. How is that possible?! Seriously?! I stopped in for three things & one of them was not available! How annoying!! The produce here is usually very nicely displayed & there is always at least one person in the produce section putting out more veggies & fruit who is friendly & fairly informative whenever I've asked a question about something. This is such a strange little grocery store. It feels just as small and cramped as some of the ones I frequented in Queens, yet it's out in the suburbs. The aisles are tight and the layout is strange. They are sort of trying to follow the traditional procession from produce, through deli, to frozen, but it just doesn't work in this store. Even the layout of the store entrance compared to the parking lot is strange! On top of all the general discomfort from the strange layout, the selection of items is severely lacking. The worst offender is definitely the produce section. You can get a hundred different kinds of specialty cheese, but you might not be able to find cilantro. What? How does that make sense? Despite the fact that this store is in the middle of my commute home, I stopped using it after three tries. I always leave there feeling off and I'm usually missing an ingredient from the trip anyway, so it's just not worth it. read more

On second thought, let me knock off that star! This place is beyond garbage. The avacado selection are never pickable or ever ripe, and I mean NEVER, ripe! The green plantains are never good to buy and cook the same day, either too young or too soft and yellowish! The yellow plantains are always sick looking. Let's start with the parking lot...hard to navigate and made harder by people just being overly pushy. Then you walk in. I felt like I was on the LIE in rush hour...way too many carts and people just trying to push around them and you. Then you get to checkout. I was lucky in that I only had a few items....the 12 item and fewer line still took 20 min with 3 people ahead of me. I have one word. BAD. RACIAL PROFILING AT PLAY HERE: I use the Scan It in an effort to save time at the register, however my intentions have been undermined on more than one occasion due to their "auditing". There has never been an occasion where I have witnessed any other customer being audited other than myself, which is quite unfortunate, as I am left with no other choice but to conclude that there is profiling in the works here. Needless to say, all items are always accounted for when they audit. Fortunately for me, Stop and Shop managers and owners, I have a choice. I will go spend my weekly $200-$300 elsewhere. read more

So far the best stop and shop I been to. The bottle collection area is always clean. The bathrooms are clean. The shelves are always stocked and the fruit section is wonderful. The area is really easy to get to by car. The people that work here are nice as well that's always a plus. read more

I was in stop n shop today and I had to write a review on this. I needed to use the bathroom and was mortified. Their was poop on the floors, dried and smeared which means it was there for a long time. Their was also poop on the garbage .. I had an emergency so I was forced to stay and go.. I washed my hands and walked on my tippy toes hoping my pants didnt touch the floor. when I went home, I took my shoes off and soaked them. This is nasty. As soon as I came out, I told an employee and he seemed to have brushed me off and started addressing staff on another matter. I mean, really? Keep your store clean. read more

I really am a Stop & Shop fan... This was one of the smaller stores but had packed shelves, clean surroundings and a friendly staff.

I'm surprised to see the negative reviews for this store. I went here to pick up a few things and was really happy with the store. Deli counter was nice. Fish was fresh and delicious when we cooked it. The vegetables were good and I found the meat department to be excellent! When I made the skirt steak my husband thought it was from the butcher. I'm glad I found his store. It's a little out of the way but I will be back! read more

For some reason this store just is bad. Unfriendly staff and management. The only good thing are the cashiers. The bottle machines never seem to work. The person whose job it is maintain them complains about his job all the time. He says bring them inside the store. When you do the front end people don't want to deal with you. I complained to the manager on duty about the machines not working one totally out the other getting Jamel every few minutes. He called me a liar because he has a trailer out back filled with bottles. I'm a customer and I'm lying? How dare him. Another customer was next to me and complained how dirty the men's room was with non working fixtures and graffiti. He compared it to a gas station rest room. The manager said nothing he could do about it. The store doesn't stock many things like woolight and they are always out of stock on many things. I give credit to the fish monger and the cashiers they are always friendly. I would go to the Merrick store or shop rite before I go back here. I went shopping here with my minister for some well-needed groceries. Got some juice, coffee creamer, sugar, Goober-grape, special K berry cereal, two fish frozen dinners, tomatoes, chicken cold cuts, and finally bread. This is one if my favorite places to shop. read more
