Still up to the same tricks...these all expired in March, it's April 3rd
    Valerie R.

I agree with prior reviewers. I only shop here because it is the closest store to my house, and I regularly find moldy/expired food on the shelves. Nearly every week. Last week, I was going to buy brussel sprouts for Easter. I was there last Sunday. Half of the bags were already expired, and the rest expired 1 - 2 days later. People want to shop for Easter ahead of time, they're just trying to unload their expired food. A couple weeks earlier, I found the brussel sprouts were all expired and I told someone who worked there. He did remove them all, but they didn't have any newer ones that they could sell me. That same day, I went to buy feta cheese, 75% of the packages had expired one month earlier. A whole month!! How does no one catch this? There was no one around, so I sequestered them all in one area and put a piece of paper on top that said "expired"...at least I can hope I prevented people from buying them inadvertently. My favorite was last night, there is an open refrigerated case across from the cheese bar, that has seafood related stuff in it. My husband was looking at it and noticed about 10 tubs of various seafood dips on top of the case (where it was not refrigerated). They all said "keep refrigerated" on the containers, but they were warm. I hope no one bought them, they'd almost certainly get sick!!! The loose onions in the produce department always have fruit flies swarming around them. I've also come home with moldy bread, moldy yogurt, sometimes milk seems to turn only a few days after we buy it. It's a nightmare. Check everything you can, buy the latest dates possible. Don't assume it's fresh!!

    Frozen together! Stupid packaging.

I'm reviewing the new nature's promise turkey sausages . S&S stopped carrying the Jones brand so they could sell their own. So far they're all frozen together and broke apart when I tried to separate. Really annoying especially when they keep discontinuing other brands to push their own!! Also the veggies at S&S are sub par to other stores.

All I know is that my daughter and son-in-law got food poisoning from the mussels they purchased here.

The next day 2 more were rotted, leaning all over the counter smelling sour I contacted the store but this was 4 days after the fact and ALL have been discarded because they are rotten. Of course you can't do anything without the packaging or the receipt. Didn't think I'd have to save it with their "fresh produce"

Be careful to double check some fruit. There have been a few times in which I purchased strawberries or blueberries and such and there were a few moldy pieces in the package! This is not the norm though. They have some big name products and the ones that aren't are still great in quality and the cheaper price makes it even better. I love that they have a section for household products (pots, pans, utensils, rugs, candles, etc). They also have a pretty good desserts selection. The double chocolate creme cake is to die for. Big parking lot, Bright aisles, shelves are nice and neat. Con: Sometimes the cashiers through your items in the cart especially if it's busy. They are timed but I don't care about time when my yogurt bursts open and I have to go back and get new ones. :-(

There is so much to choose from; hair care, prepped food, snacks, dog food and snacks and they are all organic and naturally made without cruelty or any additives. The woman here (I wish I didn't forget her name cause she was the sweetest and very helpful) gave me holistic suggestions to my inflammatory knee swelling and pain. I have tried everything over the counter, prescription, orthopedic medicine; nothing helps but natural and organic medicine!!! It's time we start using what Mother Nature gave us! I've also come here in the past after some physical agility fighting which left me SORE and didn't want to take a bunch of over the counter meds. Arnica gel and tabs are great! As well as the natural Joint formulas

There's everything in this store, organic produce, juices, vitamins and supplements, chocolate and candy I've never seen before, they even have a little section where you can get a fresh smoothie or a sandwich. There's an area where you can sit with your food. They even have a post office in this little grocery store. But it is expensive.. a box of cereal is $7.49, and it's not even a large box. They had a 5 pound jar of local honey for $50.00. I stopped in to pick up some crackers for my guacamole, I picked some really nice ones for only $3.29, but half the bag was air. This is not the fault of the store of course. It's a lot of fun to walk through a store where everything looks new, and innovative. If you're in the area stop by, always shop smart, not impulsively.

Ortiz is long gone, but it's former shell is still operating as "Los Primos" Yes, I said bodega, because essentially this is what Los Primos is. Not only can you get the most incredible latin food, but you can also buy Faygo soda, Lottery Tickets, Cheetos & a "Loosey". Dont be "scurred" by the appearance, and don't let your apprehension stop you from enjoying some of the best latin food around. You'll undoubtedly have to bypass the riff-raff that congregates near the front door, but once you get inside the smells of sweet plaintains and freshly cooked pork waft through the air. A steam table near the back is filled with the delicacies of the day. Roasted Pernil, Chicken Legs in Adobo, and Steak simmered in peppers & onions. Yellow Rice & Beans, and Sauteed Plaintains. Fried Pork, Empanadas & Renello De Papas are in the warming cabinet up front. Lunch containers come in 3 sizes ($4 for small, $6 for medium & $8 for large), and come with rice, beans, plantains and your choice of meat. You can also buy meat by the pound ($6.99). Trust when I say this food is addicting. You WILL crave it again and again, and find excuses to make your way back to middletown for lunch time. Keep in mind that it's lunch time only, and they only make a certain amount of food, so once they're out, you're out of luck. I'm also not sure if they cook on weekends, or if they accept credit cards (i've always gone on a weekday & paid with cash). You can easily get away with lunch for 2 here under $15 and be completely stuffed. Go and enjoy a place that I used to keep in my secret stash...

Particularly during the holidays, where he is talking about how to prepare your holiday meals. Second, my friend from New Jersey is probably the Duchess of Stew Leonard's and I had to see what this was all about. Here is my story It's like going to a Trader Joe's if you're on the West Coast, BuCees if you're on Central and southeast part of the country or I don't know I suppose a typical local giant supermarket. Here are my observations. They accommodate the local people they have so many things you can do with your children. If you're shopping in the store, they have mascots and different games you can play. The store is clean and organize organized There are many local products, they support the local community Would I go back? Probably if I lived closer, I would love to buy their vegetables which was very neatly displayed and priced. They were busy! That says something right?
