I come here once or twice per month. Usually it's to pick up certain items I buy regularly but it's fun to see new items on display as well. The associates are friendly and helpful. This place is always clean and orderly. It can get crowded especially on weekends so I try to go during the week. I have been a member for many years and just renewed again. The cost of membership is absolutely worth it to me!

I'm not from New England so I had heard the hype of Costco but was always a Sam's Club goer. When this Costco opened up I was excited to be part of the hype. With gas prices nowadays I am always grateful for the reduced price. I always find lots of great things every time I'm in store. The bakery items are great, but you've gotta be careful with the serving sizes in those mini cakes. Over the last few months of being a member I have eyed the taco dinner kit in the prepped food section and FINALLY I didn't let myself walk past. I am so glad I picked it up for a quick dinner because it was sooo delicious! My partner and I had it for dinner one night, I had some for lunch today, and there's still a little bit left for another meal--all for about $15! The slaw and cilantro lime sauce were my fav parts. I will say I like how at Sam's club I can buy a store made refrigerated pizza and bake it at home. I was disappointed that this Costco didn't have that option. I know you can buy prebaked pizzas in the food court and also they have Kirkland brand frozen pizzas. I wasn't going directly home so I didn't want a cooked pizza to get cold, so I grabbed the frozen ones and they were just meh. Hopefully they'll have the refrigerated options at some point in time. Looking forward to the next time I go in and see what new things I buy!

Some people will say it's just a Costco, but it's a super nice connivence. They keep it well stocked and very clean. I go in for just a few things and always walk out with more. They say that's their trick, but I love to be tricked with new, fresh items that I finding myself happy with my purchases. The gas prices are reasonable and there's lots of value throughout the store. My only constructive comment is that the checkout lines can be long, but I end up shopping during the popular times. That can be annoying especially if I just have a few items.

Consistently low prices for gas. This alone makes the membership worth it! In Vernon where we live, gas is 20 cents per gallon higher than Costco. We like saving money! $$ ka-ching We visited the store for some bulk items. They had samples available throughout the grocery section which we walked past a few times without so much as a glance. BUT.... one of the employees was heating up garlic, ginger and soy salmon. Aromas were wafting here and there. As we were getting ready to leave, I just HAD to taste it because it smelled so good! And yes, we bought some! Freezer section - you'll be glad you did! #getsome

The Battle of Wholesale Stores.... The last of the big 3 (Sams/BJ/Costco) wholesale store is finally open for business in our town. We have it all here now, don't we! This is my first time at a Costco, I've been a BJs shopper (mainly for gas) for over a decade but I had to come check them out on their grand opening... that and also coz everybody's always raving about how good Costco is and especially how the free samples made it particularly a memorable trip for them. This store also includes a food court, gas station, pharmacy, optical department, and hearing aid center. Basic membership at Costco comes at a premium price of $60 when compared to BJs at $55 but with a coupon that could be as low as $25. The choice is pretty clear isn't it!! On the first look it seems like they have a few more products to offer, prices too are very similar to BJs. So why Costco?? I can't wait to find out and I'm sure I'd come back soon to find out. Meanwhile please leave comments, what do you like about Costco??

Costcos Tempura shrimp baked in the oven.

I shop regularly at Costcos and continue to find great buys on everything I purchase. I recently decided to try the Tempura Shrimp after trying a sample in the store. It was absolutely delicious, crunchy, lightly battered and the size of the shrimp with no shrinking was phenomenal. I purchased a frozen box containing 30 count that comes with packets of sauce. The shrimp are large so I baked about 4 in the oven. They were filling and as delicious as they were in the store. I shared some with my friends at work and they too were equally impressed and wanted to buy them at Costcos.

Finally the wait is over. Now Costco is open in South Windsor. After shopping is over, they have a small food court. Prices are unbeatable. Hot dog plus refillable drink for $1.50. Cannot go wrong with that. Pepperoni or cheese pizza slice for $1.99. Single slice will fill you up. Menu items are limited, but very reasonable and delivered very quickly. Fruits, veggies, meat everything looks fresh here. Also there are some interesting items to try if you are in the mood. My Mochi ice cream was my favorite here. I never knew mochi ice cream could be this good. Langers Alphonso mango nector was another stuff worth mentioning. This is the first time I am seeing an Alphonso mango drink in US. Brown sugar bobba popsicle is another great product. Meiji Panda chocolate cookie was something I haven't seen in many years. Finally found in Costco.

It's a pleasant place to shop if they have what you're seeking (which, fortunately for me, they did).
