I recently placed an online order with Target. I'm not sure if I wasn't paying attention during checkout or if they tricked me into coming into the store for "curbside pickup". Either way I had to go to get my purchases. This Target is located in Windsor, there's a substantial parking lot. I was here on Black Friday weekend, surprisingly there weren't many shoppers. This is a much larger Target than the one I typically frequent in West Hartford. There's a Starbucks and a CVS inside. Some of the isles could've been a bit better organized and better stocked, but not bad. At the customer service counter I showed them my bar code and gave them my name. Back to school dorm shopping at it's finest. I'd feared that we were going to have to hit up multiple stores to get everything my incoming Sophomore (being on campus for the first time) would need for her dorm room. I had heard things were picked over at many stores, and when I'd looked on the Target app for a different location there were no mini fridges available so I had anticipated a trip to a separate big box store for that. But we found literally everything she needs, including the fridge. You can tell there's been a lot of back to school shopping been done for all ages but there was nothing we couldn't find. Today I purchased a package of Atkins bars at this store and ate one as I was driving away. It tasted kind of bad so as soon as I could I stopped and checked the expiration date. They had expired September of 2022! Nine months ago! I turned around and went back to the store -- no apology, nothing. The store is the most messy disorganized under Stocked and understaffed I have ever seen! Especially the grocery area where shelves are bare and what is there is not in the right spot and there's big carts full of boxes and items in the isles making it difficult to get around. read more

Now don't laugh, but I needed to get a cowboy hat for a specific reason for something this summer. I went to the Goodwill store in Bloomfield yesterday to see if I could scoop something at a low price, but I was surprised to see they had shut their doors. My wife happened to see in the paper that Target had some sort of cowboy hat for sale for $16 - that's probably more than I envisioned paying at Goodwill, but at least this one would be new and lice free. I rolled into Target around 12:30 today, the store was a ghost town, and lo and behold I got a nice cowboy hat for $16. I might even wear this for fishing or lawn mowing too. I like this Target because I can pick up my prescriptions while I'm there. Today I got off work early and had an odd experience at the place. Firstly, I came here looking for a few things. Some pants, shirts, shoes, and a new purse. Unfortunately everything was so disorganized I spent 2/3 of my time just looking for what I wanted, and ended up with very little. The options were also very limited, not what I'm used to for a target. Secondly, when I went to the fitting rooms I was looking for somebody to tell me how many items I could take in with me. I didn't see anybody except for a woman exiting the dressing room, and I almost asked her for help (because she was hanging up some items) until she looked at me, shoved something in her purse and walked away. (-.-) When I finally got to the self checkout, only two of the 4 machines were working. Somebody needed assistance with one of the machines and I guess nobody came, so when it was my turn in line she popped over with her kid and stepped in front of me. When I was finally able to use the self checkout it told me I needed assistance for an item that apparently didn't have a price (even though it said $5) so I waited a few minutes before I started to pack up my stuff to find another checkout lane, at which point a worker walked over telling me she'll fix it. I love target, but this was seriously off par. I can only imagine the amount of shoplifting that takes place here with the lack of supervision. Yikes. read more

Employees are completely unprofessional at the customer service desk, would not do a receipt look up, apparently have no way to do it. She even said I can only do it when you're doing a return, which is exactly what I was doing. She said I need the exact time you purchased it. I showed her on my app what day it was but it doesn't say on there what time. I know for a fact they could find it by inserting the card she could pull it up. She simply didn't want to. I've never had such a horrible experience at a retail store than that. They were extremely combative, wanted my name " doing what they could to help me", ya ok, I don't believe that for a second. I said it's fine I'll just take a hit on not getting my money back. So she slammed down the paper she was going to write my name on, ripped it up and mumbled something as I was walking out. I will never shop there again. They had the worst attitudes. If I were the manager there I would absolutely have a talk with them, because that should never happen. read more

I placed an order online which was supposed to be ready within two hours but wasn't ready until the next day.They didn't have the sense to up the amount of staff they have on hand for the holiday season so when I arrived to pick up the items I ordered online, the line was out the door - they should have a separate area for online pickups like walmart does. The website claimed a number of things I wanted were available in the store but yet again, they had not restocked anything. I noticed that two people commented on parking. Really? They have a lot for about 1,000 car spaces that typically fill up at most to 200 during any point of the day or week. Plenty of open spaces, if you want a spot right by the door, well then yea, you are probably not going to get that. The access road alignment that goes around the building is a little weird but that is more an issue for pedestrians getting into the store than it is for parking. Most of the reviews that I read for this location speak of a comparison between WalMart and Target in general. Let's discuss instead the value and character of this specific location. Like any other big box store you will be asked (sometimes) if you need help finding something if you look lost but in most instances if the store is busy or if the employee is busy you probably wont interact with the average employee on the floor. This is a smaller Target than most, not by a lot, like 75% the size and select on the Target in Enfield. I have had on more that one occasion a trip to this location only to find out they didn't have what I needed. You pay more at this location than the same item at WalMart, the benefit is that the store is cleaner and the clientele is more bearable. The biggest complaints that I have about this location is that people at the check out are 50/50 rude and or short. The wait to check out is sometimes painful as they seem to have just enough people up front so that you are always waiting regardless of when you go. Once in a while you will have someone who isn't running a register who probably should be tell you, you can check out at Starbucks, when you have more than a small basket of stuff this becomes an even more painful experience given their small counter space. read more

i feel like the cart retriever; old man with gray hair, a thick mustache and glasses, shouldn't be working there. had 3 encounters with him on different days and he made it seem like he had an issue with me and my family. we're a mixed young couple with 2 young kids first, he bumped my pregnant wife in the back with a long row of shopping carts as we were taking a one out of the same row at the inside front entrance. as we grabbed the cart and put our kids inside and i look out of the corner of my eye, he comes out of nowhere and approaches the other end of the row of carts and just pushes the whole row forward. he could've just waited a few seconds longer for us to completely walk away, but he didn't say anything clearly knowing we were at the other end of the carts, as we look back at him waiting for an "excuse me" or "sorry" also another instance where he speeds walks and loudly drops off a stack of baskets at the entrance near the $5 items and didn't say excuse me, as he was inches away from behind my wife going around her. lastly, as we were outside in the parking lot, he comes up to us and waits for the cart as we were putting our kids inside the car along with the stuff we bought. we felt rushed so my wife said, "it's ok we can put it back for u", so he walks away to retrieve other carts but as soon as he sees us finishing up he comes back to us and takes the cart, my wife says, "thank you" knowing we had other encounters with him and thinking maybe we did something wrong and didn't know, so we decided be nice, but he doesn't say a word back and he takes the cart and spins it around almost hitting our car and just walks off. i think he takes the cart retrieving too serious and should be reviewed by management. we live close by and we now contemplate on going to this target and think about what times he might not be working so we can avoid him. let me know if anyone else has had an issue with him. an old man with gray hair, a thick mustache and glasses. read more

Went in to get a couple of items for dinner and of course all the registers were closed except obviously self check out and there were a ton of people wanting in line to use them. This target has the potential to be a great store if maybe they left at least two people at the register or installed more self check out kiosks. read more

There's often an outrageous line, and employees milling around. It's not often you see one take initiative to open a register to get the line down. Also it's often difficult to find a member of staff if you need assistance. Otherwise the store is super clean, products are typically well stocked. read more

I visited the Windsor Target today in hopes of finding a reasonably priced power bank for my cell phone. I recently purchased a 10,000 mAh power bank that has a digital display that tells you your battery percentage and was a bargain at $25, but had left it at home by mistake. Being that I was going to be away (In Windsor) for the next 3 weeks, I decided to buy another one. I found a similar product in this target, which was also 10000mAh but it lacked the digital display (instead it only had an led meter that showed how full the battery was. Despite having inferior features the device listed for more than 3x the price of the one I purchased a week earlier on Amazon ($79.99) Thinking there was some type of error I asked for help from a nearby associate. He informed me that the price was accurate. He said I should speak with customer service, they would be the only ones who could adjust the price. When I arrived at customer service I was greeted by a young man named Ben. I explained my situation. Ben informed me that if the product was not exactly the same one, he could not adjust the price. I asked if there was a manager I could speak with. Ben called over a manager named Sarah who he took into the back room to "help him unlock something" before she approached me. Sarah walked upto me and asked how she could help (despite the obvious explanation she had just received from ben in the back room) she stared unemotionally as I described my situation, only to repeat the same policy Ben had told me minutes ago. Upon coming home to write this review, I searched Target's website to find the charger as a reference, only to discover another 10,000mAh power bank at a much more reasonable price. ($30.99) It's infuriating to me that none of the associates I spoke to recommended this perfect alternative to my situation Overall I simply have to say this was a very unpleasant experience. I'm with Ronald and Frenchelle on this one. I always thought Targets were pretty much all the same, but this one really is a step above. From the staff to the store itself, this location is on a different level. First, they keep things in stock. This should be a gimme, but I've grown accustomed to seeing big, empty spaces on shelves. They also have a grocery section. I only bought a bag of ice, so I can't really comment on much. But, yeah, it was frozen and cubed. So, A+ on the ice. Another plus with this location is that they had just about every register open. All too often I'll see a row of 20 registers at a store, and only two are manned, creating long lines and waits. I'm a fan of appropriate staffing levels. As far as Targets go, this is the best I've seen. If you need...well, just about anything, check it out. read more

I second Ronald S. The best Target there is. Tidy allll the time. I go there often and I've never seen this place look anything less than perfect. Shout out to the Starbucks girl, don't know her name unfortunately (brown skin, short hair?) who is amazing and so friendly with my kids! The african-american hair section is ridiculous. They sell hair products specifically for naturally curly hair that you'd otherwise have to buy online. Such a genius move on their part as many black women frequent this particular Target. Everyone there is so friendly, all the cashiers are talkative and have pleasant personalities. My friend and I make it a "thing" to go here with the kiddies and spend hours upon hours, it's that great. Target will always kick Wal-Mart's a$$ but this Target is exceptional. Whoever manages this store needs to make his/her way over to the New Britain Target near Westfarms, what a sh!thole. Sorry, the truth shall set you free. read more

I don't think I've ever been to a target that I didn't like. Target is practically a black hole for me. I always end up coming out with more stuff than I planned on getting. I love how this location even has a Starbucks inside. My usual routine is to get an iced coffee before I start shopping and then getting my free refill once I'm done shopping. The customer service here is great too. I am a couponer and sometimes the registers don't take off all the coupons I use in combination with cartwheel so they always help me out without making me feel like a nuisance. The only con about this location compared to the one in Enfield is the lack of groceries. Sometimes cartwheel will have Suja cold pressed juices for 10-50% off but this location doesn't carry the full range of groceries like those super targets. read more

Really love this target location although it's not the closest one to me. Always well stocked and clean which goes a long way when you are in a hurry to get what you need. Located off the exit in a lovely plaza across from stop and shop with plenty of parking. The only downside is that unlike the manchester location this one does not have a veggie/fruit selection, of course they make up for it by having a Starbucks in store right by the entrance. UPDATE: Blue Mountain Cards says they will refund my money. Because of my experience I told them their partnering with Target may not be a great idea. I'm not prone to writing negative reviews. But here's the thing. I feel Target programs shitty software in their cashier system; this can end with putting the onus on the consumer to prove they purchased a Gift card, because like most consumers, we're spending our time reading french novels and eating bon bons in between shopping trips to a store where corporate can't provide their employees with an intuitive software system. I purchased a Gift Card on Blue Mountain Cards, for 15.00, when my husband received the email with gift card there was no info on how to use the Gift card, do we print it out? Is it only for use online? We opted to print out to save on shipping fee and visited our local Target. It printed out fine with all info clear. I presented the Gift Card print out with scan code and info on it to the cashier, the digital software claimed it "invalid" the store manager was called and she said it didn't have a "VIT" (WTF?) number and I would have to call Blue Mountain Cards and sort this out. Awhile back I remember Target had trouble with a simple coupon and another time gift card I had offered through an online purchase, both times store employee finally got the cashier system to take it. It also seems I am often behind someone in line who has issues with a coupon or other payment transaction. MORAL OF THIS STORY: DO NOT PURCHASE TARGET GIFT CARDS, they take your money then refuse it in-store. OR if employee is able to solve problem it's still an embarrassing inconvenience. read more

When it doubt, you will be able to find it at Target. Problem is, you can't always be sure of the quality. That said play it safe and try not to get your electronics from here. We bought a coffee pot that brewed the coffee out the bottom. Hrrrmmmpphhh, well that doesn't work!!! Also bought and returned 3 faucet water filters because as soon as I put them on the faucet and turned the water on, they popped right off. This isn't entirely Target's fault though, they aren't the manufacturer, they are are just the retailer choosing the poor quality product. Great for the run of the mill stuff as you can imagine though. It is tough to not find what you are looking for as their selection is pretty expansive. I do frequent the store often. They keep their place clean and organized, which is always nice to see, and not common among large retail stores. It typically isn't that hard to find someone when you are in need of help either. On most days they have several registers open and you can get out in a decent amount of time. The cashiers are always super friendly and they actually know how to operate their machines which assists with the length of time you are waiting in line. They certainly aim to please. They offer a limited food selection such as hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, etc., at a food counter and even have a Starbucks if you are craving a a coffee. Nice and convenient for those who are looking for those types of things while visiting Target. I appreciate the location since they are next several other stores we frequent often works well for us. This Target location is very nice, it's very dead even on the weekend and get around the store very easily (maybe I'm just so used to ghetto fight at NYC Target) It's nice to see that there's no merchandise on the floor, everything is organized and I find them where they are supposed to be. Parking is semi large, but space itself isn't large enough as I noticed many car doors hit the other parked next. Staff here are helpful and I had nothing to complain. read more

Extremely poor customer service and the employees get away with it. I had a rude disrespectful cashier argue, curse and bad mouth me to other customers right in front of management and a line of customers and nothing was done about it. Instead of pulling her off the floor, talking to her and getting her under control they ignored her behavior and continued to let her work as if this kind of behavior is business as usual. read more

I live down the street from this location so I naturally have a lot of exposure to it. THIS DOES NOT mean that I am bias towards the location, I refuse to go to the Stop N Shop in the neighboring plaza because it is a joke. I go to the South Windsor Stop N Shop instead. All of this considered I do like this location a lot, and I frequent Target quite a bit. It is not super busy, the staff are generally knowledgeable and polite. I even have grown to be strong acquaintances with some of the staff. The Customer Service reps are as good as Target CS Reps get, they actually are HUMAN and instead of instantly trying to tell you what they cannot do for you, will sometimes go the extra mile to see your demands are met. THAT is customer service. When I go to other Targets Price Matching is like a high stakes poker game. My only gripe is that they do not have Grocery, but I mean with how low-volume this store must be in comparison to others you honestly cannot expect it to be. This store always has the item I am looking for and then some. If I go in looking for one item, almost always do I not only buy that item but end up buying a lot more items that I realize I need or items that I see that I feel I could use too. They have never been out of stock of any item I was looking for. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and the prices are the lowest around. Great Target! read more
