I went into Walsh's on impulse. They seem to have been a grocery store since 1949, when they were an IGA. Their parking lot is a good size - unless there's an obscene giveaway I can't imagine it getting full. Inside is a little dark instead of bright florescent lighting, but everything you can want from your groceries. There's beer, fruit, a sushi station, and that's within fifteen feet of the door. In back there's a salad bar and freshly made bagels. In front are "make your own soup kits". In between are aisles and aisles of neatly arranged groceries. The store is very clean! Check out was quick and with a real person, who was amiable and personable. It was a great experience, and I came away with great new and different products to try. Their garlic knots? Great with most dinners! The bagels tasted fresh and non-plastic, and the mass produced cheese wraps are perfection on taco night (but not to be found at my local Stop & Shop). Yea, it's a grocery store... a small community grocery store. So, what's so special you ask? The Deli! This little IGA market has an OMG deli. Amazing cheeses, and meats. Plus, a great salad making selections, as well as, hot meal selection. I didn't even mention the really tasty breads. Oh the breads...These people make you feel welcome. The place is small, so your jammed up with others and suggestions are flying from behind the counter and in front as well. You are family! I'm sad I don't live close by, but it will be on my list to make a stop whenever I'm close. read more

Very good local grocery store with a solid deli. Regularly stop here when I need a quick grocery stop or lunch. While their hot food buffet is not to be mistaken as gourmet, it is solid nonetheless. Very good antipasto and cold salad options. Really enjoy their baked wings. They wont win any wing contests but they are good. Love the family feel of this store as the Walsh family is lical royalty in this small town. Great service and attention to customers needs is what makes Walsh's a great place to shop. read more

An IGA Store that's within a few miles of two others that come to mind. This one is the best of the three and the one I've always come to doesn't hurt that its closest to where I grew up. However, I'll judge fairly. It's clean! Very important. The prices are well ... it is an IGA but is competitive with other IGA markets. The aisles are well laid out and marked. Produce and meats are always fresh. Great baked good section. Fairly decent prepared foods area. The parking lot is entrance on one side exit out the other so be sure to try and follow this as it can be an issue. read more

just a few miles up the hill and up the road from TOPS IGA - Walsh's is another small independent grocer. I think Walsh's is a bit cleaner and nicer than TOPS, but overall they are very similar - a good local place to go when you need to pick up the basics, easy to get to and has a friendly and helpful staff.. IGA prices always seem to be on the high side, but not crazy. read more

When faced with an unexpected family emergency necessitating us to have to feed 30 people without too much notice, I contacted the Deli at Walsh's for ideas !!! Was I glad I did !!! The meat and cheese platters were expertly prepared and of great quality .....they even made sliced tomato and lettuce platters so I didn't have to do a thing !! Very clean, friendly IGA. There are other stores closer but because of the friendliness i rather go to Walsh's IGA. It is one of those smaller stores that people know everyone from being a regular customer. The staff including the owner are so helpful but not pushy at all, it actually makes shopping when you do not want to a pleasure. I see the owner Sam, doing many things from picking up a paper off the floor, to stocking shelves, and walking around making sure everyone is finding what they are looking for. read more
