I was in need of gas and a 'pick me up' . I went to one of my favorite places all town fresh. I love the country store feel with a modern twist. I had coffee and avocado toast. What's unique about their toast is you can customize it to add more or less toppings to your liking. Now to get micro cilantro from what's technically a gas station blows my mind. They have little touches that scream EXTRAORDINARY! They always have samples. Today I'm so happy they offered their soups. The brisket soup is phenomenal. By the way they smoke the brisket on site!!! A perfect treat for a cold, winter day. So rich in flavor. I finished my meal with self service coffee. I had accumulated points by downloading their app taking $5 off my order. The app is great, you get coupons for discounts and the points add up quick. Definitely worth the space on your phone. read more

It's a Boston based radio and TV show that visits restaurants and food shacks across New England. It's a very fun show and I love their hosts (especially Leigh!). So we're watching a few weeks ago and they did a report on "some of the best barbecue we've had in a while". Now if that wasn't even to grab my attention, what they said next sure did -because this barbecue came from a gas station. Or rather a gas station/convenience store. There are 14 Alltown Fresh stations sprinkled across New England and four of them sell Barbecue. Once I discovered we didn't live too far from one, that sold barbecue (in Waterbury) I bookmarked it and we visited yesterday. It sure resembles a Cumberland Farms/Pride convenience store, but the distinguishing difference is they cook up fresh barbecue dishes to order. We got our barbecue fix with a big barbecue plate and a big barbecue bowl for around $20. They will give us four portions. My wife ordered a pulled pork plate that included bread and butter pickles, a big hunk of cornbread, and a choice of 2 sides from this selection - bbq baked beans, black bean salad, coleslaw, corn chow-chow, cucumber salad, mac n' cheese, macaroni salad, and potato salad. She went with slaw and mac and cheese and with my own eyes I saw their cook whipping up a fresh batch of mac and cheese in a saute pan behind the counter. I went with a BBQ Pork bowl with slow-cooked bbq pork, queso fresco, avocado, pico de gallo, and cilantro on a bed of shredded romaine lettuce and latin rice. The food was terrific and very reasonably priced at about ten bucks each. We had half of our orders for dinner last night and will finish them off tonight. read more

12.8.22 This is truly one of the greatest gems hidden in plain sight. It is one of the absolute best kept secrets in Waterbury, by far. They don't even have good lighting at night on the building. The gas pumps are all well lit. Brightly lit up, but not so much for the store. The outside front of the store at night is dimly lit at best. . I'm very surprised because this place is free-kin incredible. Outstanding. Totally worth a stop at least once a week if not more. . It's an upscale gas station taken to a whole other level. This store seems like it's plucked from a more affluent area like Wilton or Greenwich and placed in Waterbury. They have so many specialty drinks that they sell. They have an abundance of drinks from smoothies to fresh organic drinks like cardamom to fresh made sodas like sarsaparilla. Oh yeah they have fresh kombucha drinks too. They have pre made food in addition to freshly made food also. They also have anything and everything like any regular convenience store gas station carries. Any & all regular snacks like all convenience stores carry. They also sell a variety of coffee. The store is always clean. The pumps are always well kept and clean around them. The gas prices are average for the surrounding stations within a stones throw. Inside the store is where it's at though. I've been here umpteen amounts of times and continue to frequent the place. Anytime and every time I've been here regardless of which associate they have working on whatever shift have ALWAYS been very nice, kind & courteous. Very friendly even during a midnight stop. They're always so nice and helpful. Big reccomendation from me on this store. Do yourself a favor and stop by. You'll be glad you did. You may even become a frequent flyer like me. Sure they have your typical gas station snacks, but there is a whole other side to this place that takes it to the next level. @fairfieldfooddude The first thing you will notice is the wonderful smell of the giant smoker outside preparing fresh BBQ. Alltown Fresh is also a gas Station! Once you walk inside this place transforms to an upscale convenience store. There's not many coffee shops where they grind coffee beans right before they brew your very own personal cup of coffee, but here they do !! There's choices light, medium, or dark brew, plus more! Well I love dark roast coffee, so the worker helped me with the machine. That's right I'm tech savvy & still needed help !! As it's brewing I can smell the dark roast from where I'm standing...omg sooo good you can taste the smell !! & my Bf picked light roast but we were all learning the machine so we had 3 tries (lol) to get it right & by then coffee was on the house! Everyone customers & employees were so nice! I assume bc were all experiencing this new & different place together ! There's the all town fresh market food that makes all kinds of healthy made to order drinks, smoothies , sandwiches, wraps & salads. As u walk around they had different samples of just about everything that they make. I tried the smoothies. The one that had ginger as an ingredient. Now ginger ale soda is fine but the ginger root vegetable for me smells & taste gross !! Just Not in their smoothie. It's as if it wasn't even in it! Who would of thought ginger, avocados & pineapples can go together & still taste delicious?? They also sell lots of organic choices in chips, drinks and cheeses. Organic cheese is expensive in any supermarket, so expect the same here. I only point it out bc did I mention...this is still in a gas station. They also sell fresh whole fruits like apples, pineapples, bananas & a variety more. Everything else is just like your basic store cigs, OTC medicines, drinks, ATM, & bathroom. read more

This is the most upscale gas station convenience store we've ever been in. The place looked new, bathrooms were nice and snacks and convenience items were appealing. The small food kiosk inside offered great food choices and made while you wait. There's even some nice seating inside. We got the Wagyu beef burger, Wagyu Barbacoa bowl, and the Steak and cheese sandwich. All were excellent and a cry above and fast casual restaurant. Wish they'd open up in Northern VA as we're just passing through to southwest, MA. Prices were great. We opted to eat at the nearby Lakewood Park Beach for a nice outdoor picnic. read more

What a nice clean place to poke your head into and grab a quick drink or bite to eat. It's one of the few healthy options in this area and the people working were friendly enough. It's definitely on the more expensive side for the food ($9-12 for a sandwich/wrap, $7-9 for a smoothie, $5 for coffee) but when you're tired of McDonald's, paying an extra $5 for a fresh sandwich doesn't seem so bad. We got two sandwiches and they were great! I had a lemonade and a ginger lemonade from another location and those were delicious and refreshing too. read more
