It was everything I wanted, and it was seamless from the time of ordering until it ended. I got rave reviews about the food and the two young gentlemen, that did the grilling and serving. A special thanks to Mike, manager of the catering department for making everything so easy, delicious and stressless for me. Great guy and delivered everything he promised.... I also like that I can get fresh clams already in a container so I don't need to shuck them myself, which is very easy for the clams in white sauce. Staff at the fish section are always friendly and if I am not sure about a fish/shellfish, they point me in the right direction for what I need for whatever recipe I am making. Meat section is expensive, but I like the cuts and the freshness of the items, they have fresh rabbit which I am huge fan of eating in stew. Lamb is also very much a staple so they have plenty of options, bone in, bone out, chops and legs. Produce is everything I need especially hard to find items like lemon grass. I do like the pre cut fruits so they have watermelon and mango which is perfect for lunches and after dinner dessert. Deli section the guys are very nice and always slice what I need, sometimes I ask for the end pieces and they are ok with weighing and wrapping it, I have been to other markets and they give attitude or refuse to weigh and wrap it for me. If it is the case, it can be sold!! So, is Wegman's a little pricier than other markets, yes, but you really can't surpass the quality and variety of items. I shop here twice a month and on average spend between $250.-$400. depending on shopping needs for the weeks food items. I also have to add a comment on the restrooms, I can only comment of the ladies, once I made the mistake and went to the staff ladies lounge restroom.. but both the public and staff are clean and well stocked with the basics.

Updated review: ;26 Sept 2024…read more Aldi in Europe is an entirely different matter. It is more like Trader Joe's in the States ( no surprise since TJ owns it and Lidl). In Portugal, Aldi is my favorite small supermarket, with quality merch and low prices. Ignore my review from 5 years ago, as it talks to a 5 year old start up Aldi in the US . I suspect the US. Concept has improved to keep up with its European heritage. Aldi is better in every respect in Europe, especially on the Iberian peninsula. For example, their flash frozen shrimp 12-15 size at around 12 Euro a kilo is worth twice the price. Same is true with specialty items like wine, liquor, cheese, and amazing breads. Some Trader Joe's items (nuts, candy, chocolate) are repackaged and bear the TJ logo. So .... I hope the Rte 9' Aldi has grown with the European parent. If so, it is a bargain supermarket that cannot be best //even by Costco standards.

This Aldi is in the same shopping center complex as Costco and IHop. It's really in Morganville but…read morethe Yelp address read Old Bridge. As you walk in, it's a fairly large and clean feeling supermarket. In addition to food, they also carry miscellaneous household items such as an electric hand vac, decorative baskets, scratch posts for cats, and other knick-knacks. It's a very odd feeling as you walk around. Dare I say, almost like a general dollar store vibe. There is no charm or warmth to it whereas Trader Joe's oozes with it. The only workers I deemed truly friendly are the cashiers. I went there on a whim and found their alternative milk sells for $1.99/half-gallon. Their Oat Milk sells for $2.99, by the way. Things on sale are mostly their own brand but they do carry some name brand items. They also carry some organic items but their selections are limited. They do carry a fair amount of vegetarian-based frozen prepared items, though. Be aware, if you use their paper bags to hold your groceries, it will cost you 6 cents for each bag. If you want to use their cart when you shop, have a quarter. Your quarter will be returned when you bring the cart back to the designated area. This is how they cut down on manpower and have the carts more organized and not all over the parking lot.

Not only will you see one brand or type of Chorizo, you will see several! Prices here vary! Like all places it depends on what you get! I thought I stepped into the Bronx when I saw 3 boxes of strawberries for $5. That's a really great price, especially in the winter! There is a huge amount of items not seen in other neighborhood supermarkets! The plantains are of better quality and value than what I have seen! There were even pre-weighed bags of green plantains! Lots of root vegetables and fresh, waxy skinned yuca! The supermarket can look busy because there are so many products of which I cannot fault the store for! It's great to see so many things! There is even a shelf for Mexican breads! I have never seen an International section with Peruvian spices! This place is like a gold mine! In the back there is a butcher and coming soon, a place to get hot food! Yeah! They have so many types of imported Latin crackers! I even found star anise! Besides C-Town, you can get chicken cut up into pieces in the chicken meat section. I have never seen boxed churro mix but found it here! Bags of rice lay on shelves as you finish paying at the cashiers. I found this market endless in surprises and most intriguing.
