This location is one of my favorite supermarkets in the area. This store is well stocked and clean. The staff is helpful. If you don't watch the ads and use their rewards, it is quite pricey. I typically buy my cupboard staples and home goods because of sales. I rarely buy meat because there expensive. Nope. Extremely annoying checkout. Their management should be terminated. If you scan an item (only one) the screen will display help and not slow you to progress (pay or scan next) without the item being weighted/verified. They may save money from theft but I left without buying anything and in future will ovoid this chain. read more

Horrible delivery service through instacart! do not use them! They fail to follow delivery instructions. They dump your groceries wherever they can find especially in building lobbies. They fail to bring deliveries to your door like you pay for! The drivers are rude and catch an attitude when you give them instructions. And INSTACART does not have CARTS!!! So they want you to carry your own groceries after you've paid for delivery and given a gratuity! read more

When I first moved to Jersey , Hackensack from the Bronx I would shop here and at the PathMart because they where opposite each other and was so easy to get the weekly specials at each one. I moved away a long time ago but I still once in awhile still come here. It's a good market, fresh produce and bakery. Boar's Head at the deli and plenty of parking. Plus the entrance to route 17 is right there. read more

Front end manager Yvette Veloz lacks any customer service skills. Clearly needs retraining as a managerial representative of store shows poor taste in people they choose to run front end. She is rude and talks down to customers. Should do her job without a chip on her shoulder. She should know if item is marked incorrectly that customer should get at advertised price. If stockers or service people of store made a mistake do not take it out on customer bringing it to your attention . Customers are the people who shop to buy items keeping store in business. Being nasty to customers does not promote good continued business to store. read more

I was having issues with my debit card and I asked the cashier to let the person behind me go. I called the bank and resolved the issue. I told the cashier that I was going to back in line and started pushing the cart to the nearest area where I can turn, but this store never has any registers open and they are always chained off. she started chasing me and screaming that you cannot leave the store with the groceries. I once again explained her that I was just trying to get back in line, but since all the registers are closed and chained I have to go to end of the store. Once that I was back in her line, I emptied the bags in front of her and she demanded to check the bags to make sure that I do not leave anything in the bag. Agin my cad gave another issue and then accused of using a stolen card. I was not using a stolen card and I have more than enough money for a $62.00 grocery bill. I confronted her accusing me of calling me a common thief and she denied it. I spoke to the manger and he was just as useless as her. I was a very goo customer and I will never shop there ever again. I ended up ordering from shop rite online and the card worked. The ironic part is that I have never stolen a thing in my my life and have worked for everything that own. read more

Still BEYOND skeeved out about the completely moldy waffles I opened for my kids yesterday. I don't even understand how this could have happened. In order to grow mold, these would have needed to be defrosted for a lengthy period of time before being returned to the freezer to achieve FROZEN mold status. They stunk so bad that I feel like the smell is still stuck in my nose. I can't stop picturing everything on their shelves just rotting away. Thanks, but no thanks. I won't be back. read more

Decent grocery store, it is on my way home from the gym, so it is convenient for me. They have a little better than avg produce section, good weekly deals, and I like their self checkout that seems more updated that some other stores. I feel like the store is a bit unorganized though, and some items seem like they are in the wrong aisles. Either way it is normally a pretty quick in and out for me here, and it never gets that crazy packed. read more

My first time here. A very nice, clean store. The produce section was immaculate. It looked as if it was the grand opening.....everything was neat and fully stocked. They also had some produce items that my regular Stop & Shop ( Carlstadt) didn't have. Overall I was impressed, this was a very well kept store. I wish the carlstadt store was this nice. read more

Butter croissant is always fresh. Has the right amount of crispness all the time. If it matters- the size of the croissant is inconsistent but it does taste good. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Clean store. All self checkouts are always working. I am in and out! love it! read more

I usually only shop here when I have to pick up prescriptions which I did this morning. This store is price gouging. They are charging $5.79 for a case of Poland Spring water when the most it usually is $3.99. Also they are charging $7.39 for a 12 pack of coca cola or Pepsi when the usual price is $4.99. I also was charged twice for a package of paper plates and I was refused my money back when I only purchased one. Now they decide to rearrange the store but not enough employees to help you find anything. This store should be closed. read more

I really wish management read these reviews & would fix the problems with this store. At 11am I needed scallions and of course they didn't have ANY. This is NOT the first time I've had problems w/their produce department, but far too many to list.. Same day I needed ice cream for my granddaughter, BUT the ice cream was melted, ALL OF IT {are you kidding me??} They had NO fresh PARMESAN cheese This trip was totally unsuccessful. Ended up at Lucky's green grocer up the street then went to Shop Rite for the rest. Not good guys. Spoke to the manager and got ALL excuses, PRODUCE DELIVERY DIDNT COME IN, FREEZER ON DEFROST MODE & PERSON IN CHEESE DEPARTMENT HADNT GOTTEN TO CUTTING PARMESAN..Get it together cause you charge enough for the products. read more

This is not the most convenient location for me, but it beats the ShopRite that is closer to my home. I will return, it's worth the extra 10 minutes. I found the selection and variety of products excellent and the produce extremely fresh. The shelves were well stocked. Their premium paper towels are as good as name brands, by the way. The cashier was friendly and another employee came to help with the bagging (not my experience at ShopRite) so that was helpful. The only reason not to give 5 stars is that they didn't have sanitizer at the exit as most stores do. I think they should. read more

I can't remember how long I've been going to this location. It's been through several chain changes but it's always been a bit upscale as far as items. They carry items other stores don't like Bell and Evens chickens. Once you come here, you won't go back to Pathmark. I know Nino, who is a good guy, said we shouldn't by produce at the supermarket but a lot of times I don't have time to go to another store and the produce here isn't bad at all. Now the staff could be a nicer...don't you love it when you just finished emptying your cart and the cashier says "Stop & Shop Card?" then just stands there staring at you as you fumble through your purse trying to find it, AND she won't start ringing things up until you produce your card......weird. read more

If it hasn't been made obvious to you already, then allow me to enlighten you. Produce should never be purchased at supermarkets. Their markup is much higher than farmer's market because they have a lot more overhead. You should be purchasing your produce from Lucky Farm across the street. What you should purchase from Stop & Shop is most everything else. But if you're like me, and don't mind making a day of it to shop, then you should purchase bathroom items at CVS or Target because they're generally cheaper. Meats and grocery items are better quality at Stop & Shop when compared to the selection at Pathmark. Stop & Shop is also much more organized that ShopRite and generally less crowded. Clean well stocked store. I'm a regular customer, the store has a nice deli dept and I get service pretty quickly, All the employees are polite and helpful. I always find what I need and use the pharmacy for my family's prescriptions. the store is slightly more expensive than others but I find you get what you pay for. Never long lines, helpful employees at self check out. It's nice to be acknowledged and greeted when I pass someone working in an isle. Any of My questions are always answered politely. My only complaint would be they do not have a seafood department but do sell freshly packaged fish (which I have purchased because the product looks good) and they don't ever seem to have many carts inside when you walk in. I always see carts scattered in the parking lot. I have a newer car and sometimes park further than I'd like just to avoid a cart rolling into it. Sometimes there's shopping carts blocking numerous open parking spots right in front. read more

I go here mostly because it is in a convenient location for me and tends to be cleaner and more organized than the Pathmark located directly behind it. The deli carries boars-head coldcuts which in my opinion is always a good sign. You can select a fresh loaf of bread and have a STACKED sandwhich prepared for $5.35 including tax. They seriously do not skimp on the meat or the cheese!! They have a small but good selection of organic foods that are well priced. (for example: Organic eggs vs regular eggs appx $.35-.50 difference) They also have their own organic brand called Natures Promise. While it isn't the absolute best, the price is right. read more

I purchased expired beef patties on one occasion and a few months later i found mold growing on a cheese platter. All withing 6 months-- so i just cant shop here any more. I've also witnessed a few other issues of concern, but no need to rehash the past. Avoid it. read more

very nice store - always very clean and usually well stocked. They have some very nice friendly and fast cashiers at this store. Also very nice customer service people behind the customer service desk. I do wonder why no fresh fish in this store, usually previously frozen fish - maybe the fresh fish is not a big seller for this store. I do remember one year around Easter (I thing on Good Friday) - they did have some fresh fish that was brought in - but, again maybe it was not a big seller at this store. The deli departments is good - however, they could use some more help behind the deli coutner especially at lunch time. I work in Lodi and do alot of my shopping during my lunch hour and it does annoy me when I see people in the deli dept, but they are not helping customer waiting on line. They say that either they are doing roasted chickens or are helping from the computer orders. Customers are waitng - do not let us wait. Overall, a pleasant shopping expereince (except for the wait in the deli dept). I work in Lodi and live in Ridgewood and I do not find that the prices on certain items in Hackensack our lower than the Ridgewoods store. I guess this is demographics and most chain stores probably do the same thing. read more

I have bought red meat here several times and either it stunk or i bought chopped meat that was grounded with something else, i think plastic. I would just toss it out and not bother returning. Overall a good grocery store, fair prices, but could have some better sales here and there. Good cold cuts, nice selection of Gluten Free products, and a the pharmacy staff is nice too. Now for the downfall, the company is loosing perspective on family morals and values, opening the Pharmacy on Easter? Really? I'm sure you'll get some action, but in my opinion it is almost a reason for me to want to boycot the company. People go to church and actually do still have faith. There are holidays that should not be taken away from families and it is trudging into bad territory to take this away from your employees. Cashiers in the morning are so rude. Don't even pick up their heads to tell you your total. With all the other shopping options close by like Pathmark and shoprite, I would rather pay a little bit more and have a pleasant shopping experience. Considering several morning cashiers are so rude it makes you wonder about the management. They act like they are doing you a favor by shopping there. Too bad because the produce and bakery are good but with 2 walmarts and shoprite and Pathmark so close who needs to be aggravated by rude cashiers. My last experience with a cashier named Vivian was the last straw.
