This is by far our favorite Whole Foods location. New, modern, well-stocked, and MASSIVE! We travel further to this store because of how much we like it. This location is spotless and clean, well-organized, and well-staffed. All of our main staples can be found here. Staff are always willing to assist, they are kind, and they are helpful. Shelves are always well-stocked. The sushi counter is to die for, as is the fresh bread. Parking can be challenging, so be prepared for that. read more

This is a very spacious Whole Foods, I must say. There are two entrances for this location. Enter from outside through the front door or from inside the mall area. If entering from inside the mall, it's a straight walk down the corridor. I came in to get something to eat because the pickings are slim when it comes to food options at Bergen Town Center. I couldn't go wrong with the shrimp tempura kabuki roll. Aside from a few shells that were left in, this roll was fantastic. The brown rice was actually great together with the spicy mayo, brown sauce and gari. Soy sauce wasn't even necessary. I only wish there was a little more gari on the platter. For $11.49, it was a deal. If eating food inside Whole Foods, there are numerous places to sit as well as a lounge area right outside. I found the associate I asked for help sourcing a product to very helpful. She pointed to the area where she believed the product was. After I had been standing there clueless still looking, she came back over and asked me for more details. Unfortunately, they didn't carry the brand. The queue for self checkout went by fairly quickly as there were so many kiosks. I'd recommend this Whole Foods location many times over! read more

Love this particular Whole Foods. Due to the sheer size it carries a lot of items that the other local Whole Foods such as Ridgewood and Woodcliff Lake don't have in store. They also have alcohol which the other stores don't. In addition to their inside isles of non-perishable items they have a plethora of amazing cheeses, seafood and meats. Their produce selection is extremely reasonable, and if you are a prime member, you can take advantage of all their sales. I enjoy various of their items from the deli and hot food selection although I do wish they would replenish it a bit quicker than they do as sometimes it looks thinned out, and as if things have been sitting a tad too long. read more

Stopped by WFM to get some food for the day. We have become fan of their rotisserie chicken. We get a whole cooked chicken for $8.99, and $12.99 for organic. One chicken lasts us over 3 meals. Also got freshly made mac and cheese, samosa and vegetables. Love their hot bar. I love the lobster bisque soup as well. Having it getting frequently. The place was clean and tidy. Located in the Bergen town center, this Whole Foods has met the needs in terms of selection, size and ease of getting in and out (even though parking can be annoying). Being an Amazon Prime member is key to taking advantage of their sales, which are pretty good given that regular prices can be pricey. They have a good hot bar and prepared items too. They have a decent number of self checkouts but if you have coupons you have to go to a regular checkout. The employees have also been helpful when I've had questions. read more

Want to be treated like garbage, and buy a rancid rotisserie chicken that is inedible--throwing your $10 away in the process? Then this is the place to go...or better yet, avoid like the plague. Rotisserie chickens are a mixed breed of passable to mediocre depending on the chain, but this has to be one of the worst we've ever purchased--despite the ripoff price. SALT, SALT and more SALT is doused all over the chicken, to the extent that no other taste is even discernible. As for the chicken itself, the size and texture are more akin to a pigeon that was confined to a bad cage, begging the question as to why a high-volume chain with buying power can't buy higher quality chickens for its customers. The drumstick bones cracked in half, the meat portions of both the thighs and breasts were extremely dry, and the wing was so overdone and tiny it was impossible to eat--if one could tolerate the dangerous sodium level. But that's just the beginning of the miserable customer service experience at Whole Foods Paramus, because when we attempted to report the substandard chicken purchase and were told to ask for the manager, the GM--said to be named "Paul"--would not speak to us, relaying through associates that he does not talk to customers!! Really? If a GM doesn't want to hear from and interact with customers, make a bad purchase right, replace a substandard food product, or give one iota about customer service, how does this person hold the store's GM position to begin with? Money wasted...terrible prepared food...and a slap in the face attitude towards customers by the store's management. This, on top of an extremely dangerous, accident-prone parking lot full of drivers clamoring for scarce parking spaces. After going to this miserable excuse for a Whole Foods, ALDI and Foodtown never seemed so appealing! read more

I grab food from the hot bar at this Whole Foods every now and then, and it's consistently solid. They usually have a wide range of options--something for everyone, whether you're in the mood for comfort food or something on the healthier side. Stopped by around 12:30 PM on a hot day hoping for a light and refreshing salad. Unfortunately, a lot of the salad bar options were already empty by then, which was a bit disappointing considering it was peak lunch time. That said, the food that was available was fresh and well-prepared, as usual. It's one of those spots that's super convenient when you're looking for a quick but decent-quality meal. Just wish the salad section had been better stocked, especially on a hot summer day when that's what everyone's probably craving. If you've never been to a Whole Foods you really should check one out. If you know the chain, then this store is a very good. It's in the Bergen Towne Center so plenty of parking & easily located. It is very clean, fully stocked, and has a nice staff. It has the best of all foods health-wise. We shop here for a lot of our meats & vegetables as it has the best quality around. Pretty solid Whole Foods, large and a big space up front for people to sit and eat. The parking lot is a little tight but inside you can also find an Amazon return and package spot on the other side of the self checkout area which has a lot of self checkout lanes. I am a fan of this suburban Whole Foods located in Bergen Town Center. It is convenient and always well stocked with a great selection of food and products. Parking is plentiful and it never feels crowded even when it is. The bakery carries a variety of tasty desserts and pastries at a reasonable price point and they're delicious! Their floral department regularly maintains fresh bouquets/plants and best of all, offers complimentary floral wrapping. Just bring your receipt after you purchase your flowers and they will wrap up your bouquet with tissue paper, cellophane and ribbon. Voila! A beautiful gift ready to be given. The wine selection is great, produce is fresh and checking out is a breeze. Plenty of lanes and self checkout too. Added bonus if you're an Amazon Prime member, you can get additional discounts on sale items and this location has a drop off hub for any Amazon returns. My one complaint would be the annoying ordering system if you're purchasing food from any of their food counters. You have to place the order at a kiosk, pay, then pick up your order from wherever you ordered even if there is a person working right in front of you. Ridiculous! What happened to being able to order directly from a live human? Other than that minor gripe, it's a one stop shop for me here when I'm in the area. read more

Officially my favorite Whole Foods....by far...and I completely agree with all of the past rave reviews about this location. OK, so I haven't been to a whole lot of Whole Foods around the country and, to be fair, a majority of the ones I've been to were in NYC (Manhattan and Brooklyn), but I know an amazing supermarket when I see one and this Whole Foods is AMAZING. This Whole Foods is really a grocery shoppers dream - extremely organized aisles, incredibly spacious areas to walk around, a crazy number of options for everything and a huge parking lot outside. OK, OK, I know most Whole Foods meet a lot of what I just said, but, seriously, I've been to other Whole Foods and they just aren't even close in size or spacing. This place is like an airplane hangar that could fit multiple jumbo jets inside. Not only does all of the above exist, but everything is always in stock - including their brick oven pizzas and, probably the reason I come here the most, their cakes. Other locations tend to run out of cakes at some point in the day, but I've been here in the morning, during the day and in the evening and somehow they still have a few in stock of the most popular ones (e.g. Strawberry Shortcake). As for the pizza, they have many different selections (Cheese, Pepperoni, Mushroom, Bianca, Buffalo Chicken, Margherita, etc.) and, shockingly, the prices are very reasonable (in 2022) for a slice, 2 for $7. As for everything else, lines are always organized and there's a single self-checkout line that is always monitored by an employee. Simply put, there is absolutely NOTHING to complain about here. I was very surprised today when I went to Whole Foods to return an Amazon package. This is the first time that I greeted the person as usual I'm always friendly and very polite and the worker wouldn't even return a greeting of the day which in my book is automatic dismissal From the job. Most businesses are demanding that the workers greet the customers just walking through the door, not even the ones that are working behind counters, but then again this is an Amazon employee, and they are known to show distain for customers. read more

I'm not gonna lie, I don't usually do my grocery shopping here. Most of the time I'm here it's for their Amazon drop off but the few times I came in with a purpose was for their bakery items. My last two visits were for that purpose. I came in to place a pre-order for a cake. Everything went smooth there. I paid for the order and off I went. The problem was with pick up. I went straight to the bakery section as that was where I placed my order. I told them my name, they got my order, and gave me my ORIGINAL receipt as proof that I purchased these items. I said thank you and that was it. I walked out of the store and not a second after was followed by what I assume was security. He asked for my receipt and I gave the one I had. He continuously asked me if I was sure it was the receipt they gave me and I said yes. I explained that I picked up pre-orders and for me to have placed the pre-order I needed to pay for the cakes and that was the receipt I was given back for "proof of purchase". He asks me to come back in to their Customer Service area and asks for my ID. He asks whoever is there if my statements were true and the lady there was unsure so a manager was called. The manager have "heard of that before" but was unsure if she was 100% on their pre-order policies so off she went to the bakery section to confirm my order. While I waited the security kept telling me how "it was proper procedure to go to customer service to pick up items" and so on and so forth. During the times I placed the order or even during pick up I wasn't told of any of this. And I mentioned that in any other markets the bakery department deals with the orders and the pick ups and that was it. No other departments involved. Manager finally comes back and confirms that hooray I'm not a thief after all. Security gives me back my receipt but not before taking a picture of it and telling me that he "didn't need to take a picture of my ID". Is being made feel like a thief ever pleasant? No. But I guess that's what they have to do. read more

This has got to be the worst location by far. The store is always out of everything and the people running it are just as bad as the sparse selection. I was just there this evening to pick up a few items and it was really empty. Upon checkout, the cashier didn't even attempt to help bag the few items it had. Behind me at the managers station (if that's what it's called) were a bunch of employees screaming and laughing, speaking inappropriately all while I'm there with my two kids bagging my own items. Service is so dead here. What a disgrace. I remember years ago when Whole Foods was an experience to be had. Now it's unfriendly staff and cashiers throwing your groceries down the conveyor belt while the customer scrambles to bag their items all while the cashier stands there drinking their coffee. Awful. I love the fact that there are vegan options here! A couple of employees didn't really know where the vegan parmesan cheese was located - they sent me to the cheese deli, but the item was on the other side of the store. This is definitely one of the biggest Whole Foods that i've been in! During this pandemic, I've really been taken care of my health more and eating a more organic, plant-based diet whenever I am cooking. Whole Foods has been my go-to grocery store especially because of their fresh quality ingredients, extra discounts because of Amazon prime, and it is not overly crowded like other supermarkets. There is nothing more frustrating than going a super crowded supermarket navigating around shopping carts even pre-covid and having to wait forever on line. For the most part, I can complete all my groceries for the week at Whole foods. I usually go to Whole Foods closer to my home but when I am in Paramus, i'll definitely be stopping by this location as well. They have a great variety of healthier, organic alcoholic beverages compared to any other liquor store I've been to. read more

I appreciate her knowledge of the coffee, it's always hot fresh, and it's way better than Starbucks! Not only is Janelle's coffee better, and fresher, she treats all of her customers exceptionally well. I look forward to coming to Wholefoods just so I can have my dose of the best tasting coffee I have ever had outside of being in South America. If you go to Wholefoods Paramus ask for Janelle, she is absolutely the best! I order the Americano Decaf, and O-M-G it is the best morning treat ever. Be careful of this branch. They practice bait & switch tactics. Example: the Aerofarms microgreens are marked on the shelf as $3.99 but are marked up to $4.49 at the register - and that's AFTER scanning your Prime membership! Every single time I've purchased the microgreens I have to point this out and they give me the marked price - yet they never fix the price on the shelf. So that means they purposely keep the fake price on the shelf to get you at the register, I mean how many people are gong to stop the purchase and put back the product on the shelf? I went to whole foods to get some oysters and the guy working the seafood counter said he had already put them away even though the store wasn't closing for well over an hour. I then go to ask an employee where the horseradish is and he just shrugs his shoulders and says "i don't know" and walks away. All i wanted this evening was oysters. read more

Expensive but conveniently located. I go here for special items, not regular groceries. Most of the baked goods that are made on the premises are very good & fresh. They do get baked breads from Balthazar which is excellent. Fabulous cheese assortment along with special crackers. I've found the meat to look great but not the most tender upon eating it at home- maybe a bad piece. Unsure as I don't buy meat often. Fish, however , I buy almost daily. I always ask what came in that day as I am very particular when it comes to fish. I've had good experience with their fish & bad as well. Today I bought catfish for $12/lb and when I got it home it smelled really bad & was slimy. It was returned no questions asked. Certainly didn't cook after getting back late after work etc & returning the fish. I always ask what came in that day & I'm told it all did but that's not the case. I'll be more specific in my future requests. Prepared food is pretty good for a quickie. Great selection of gluten & dairy free items which can be hard to find but becoming more main stream. 365 Italian Olive Oil is one of my go-tos. Olive oil today comes from Spain, Thailand, you name it, but Italian is the best & so is their 365. Also like 365 natural ice pops- Mango is a house favorite. Don't forget if you're a prime member to show your in-store code to get a discount. This is a much smaller store compared to the one in Paramus. The Paramus store is like a huge warehouse with so many more options. I enjoy shopping there but not thrilled when I pay the bill. You can't beat the pick up or delivery options- or get your groceries within 30 minutes for $4.95! I love that. Have also had delivered for free. read more

Here we go again! Shopping at this location for 10 years. This is by far the worst condition I have ever seen it in. If I was the VP of operations and walked in this store manager would be gone. Expired food everywhere!!! I mean expired by a week. Desert area is gross. Stuff spilled and 3 days later I still see the same spill. No one cares anymore. Shelves empty. Bakery empty shelves. The fish department has gone through a bunch of people in the last 6 months. I had to return sword fish it was old and smelled horrible. It should be called the farm raised section. Very few fresh wild caught options. How about shrimp from the gulf ?While foods use to be healthy but not anymore. Better selections at your local supermarkets. I come here very frequently as my family loves this store. The store is always crowded and there are instances where there aren't enough carts. There is a vast vegetables section but there are times when there aren't enough vegetables that I need. The dairy area is similar as there are times when I can't buy coconut and dairy free products. I do like the diet supplement section as there a wide variety of them and there are always people there who can help. A+ for the diet supplements section. If there are a few suggestions I can provide it is to improve the stocking so there is always produce available and for better cart collections so there are always carts available. read more

I take my mom and I here quite often now! They have everything between vegan alcohol, sweets, organic fruits and veggies and even vegan bakery stuff! Compared to all the other Whole Foods we've been to in New Jersey this is one of the largest ones in my opinion. I love the fact that they have so many options for everyone! This location apparently no longer offers hand baskets for shipping, only carts. What a horrible time to manipulate your customers into buying more. It's proven that shoppers spend more on impulse items when shopping with a cart rather than hand basket. Prices are already higher than usual, the store is always busy and you need to be sneaky with the psychological shopping nudges too. This has to be one of the best whole foods that I've ever been to on the East Coast. It's huge, spacious, and has a fantastic verity. If you need any specialty, they have it, well... excluding Swedish farm cheese (I'm a little obsessed and can't find it anywhere :( The salad bar; it's stocked and has a huge array of additions and sauces, if one is out just ask and they will be more than happy to bring it. Food bar; this had to be one of the best, the primary reason I even frequent Whole Foods. They had great options that were freshly made, from my favorite Yuka Fries (why doesn't any other Whole Foods do this?!?!) to awesome chicken and falafel. There are meal deals (two sides and one entree) for $9-12 that beat any fast food. Then, there are dedicated hamburger and chopped salad stations that will do everything you need for those two options.
