We went here to celebrate our anniversary. It took a while to get our food but it finally came. My fish was cooked wrong and they brought me the wrong side (and the other side was cold). Someone else brought the food to us so they didn't know what we ordered. My husband ordered a salad for his side, they brought mashed potatoes. He kept it (didn't eat it) and got his salad. They took my fish back to cook it correctly and brought me the correct side. The manager Landon came by and said my fish would be brought out shortly (didn't apologize). It took at least 15-20 minutes to get my fish back, and by that time, my husband was done eating. All in all, it was pretty disastrous. The food was delicious! The salad dressing on the house salad was amazing, I wish I could buy it by the gallon. The rolls were spot on. My husband had the 10oz filet and baked potato and I had the filet medallions Oscar with au gratin potatoes . Everything was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be returning very soon . I got the meatloaf sandwich and my husband got the prime rib with mashed potatoes. Mine was salty I had them pack up over 2/3 of the plate. I thought it was just me. My husbands dish was delicious. Tonight we ate left overs and all of mine went in the garbage. The sodium level was intolerable. Hannah was an amazing server and this review has in no way any reflection on her service. Very disappointing experience. My party arrived on time for our 5:30 PM reservation, yet staff could not find my reservation and initially seated the wrong party in the area prepared for us. Management was combative and refused to take responsibility, even implying my guests were late, which was untrue. Our waitress was kind and apologetic, but overall the customer service was poor. New clean nice setup. Sufficiently staffed. Holds 262. Now for the review. Had a reservation a brunch on Sunday. Upon arrival waited maybe 90 seconds with a fully packed house to be escorted to my table. (Note: booths are large with plenty of room.) Our waitress greeted us quickly to take our drink orders. Ordered the deviled eggs (yes we thought we ought to order them before you can't get eggs). They were very good and didn't last long. Ordered a 7 oz filet cooked to order. Don't want to say it was good, but it was gone in 60 seconds. Ordered a Cobb salad and a wedge. Both were big and delicious. Ordered the hot chicken and waffles. Both were excellent plus you get bonus bacon. Ordered crème brûlée, but they were out so ordered the chocolate cake. It was moist not too sweet and hugh. Go but make reservations. read more

First time visit, not impressed at all. Service was good. Waiter was prompt and attentive and did not hover. Food-subpar. Meatloaf i order was good but not great or hot. Slightly above room temp. Tuscan Chicken ordered by my wife was simply "gross". First complaint was it was not hot. She picked at the food during dinner, thinking the issue was the temparature. We brought her Tuscan chicken home and I warmed the food up in oven, she tried it and it was a solid No. I tried it and immediately had a gummy taste from the batter/coating on the chicken. The texture was bad. Spicy margarita was a good drink if you like spicy drinks which I do. The sides delivered to table were incorrect and quickly corrected by staff. Restaurant was clean and new. Ambiance was casually sophisticated. Food was average with certain dishes being impressive. Service was pleasant and attentive, but could be improved. His lobster bisque was excellent and my Caesar salad was as expected. For the main course, he ordered the ribeye and baked potato, which was average. The cook on the ribeye was on point but the flavor was lacking. I had the bistro chicken which was very tender but somewhat bland. Portions were large. Martini was perfect. Crème brûlée was delicious. Service was attentive, but timing was off as some dishes arrived together making us feel rushed. Silverware was taken, but not replaced until requested. Water was not automatically served. Server was not knowledgeable about chef's selection of the day. These of course are small details that might not be mentioned at more casual restaurants. Pricing was good - entire meal was just under $150 for 2 before tip. However, with the overall experience, we do not expect it to become a favorite. Fist time eating here and was very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. The steak was cooked perfectly the meat was tender and of great quality. The dinner rolls are fried and very good. The appetizer's (steak egg rolls) were great and promptly presented. Overall it was a 10 out pf 10. Will definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

We went to Stoney River for our anniversary, the good was that the server was attentive and ambience was very nice. Unfortunately one of our dishes, the steak medallions with crab meat, the crab meat seemed like it had spoiled. We let our server know and her response was to say she didn't like the crab and ask if we needed a box. Other entree was ok, but steak quality wasn't great. There are a lot of better options in Huntsville. For me, Stoney River is on par with Outback, but at Ruth Chris prices. I would have appreciated at least an apology for bringing out spoiled food. We are not complainers or expect free meals, but not addressing the issue was disappointing. read more

Pretty place but horrible service and food. It was packed so we sat at the bar. It took a while for us to finally get somebody's attention. After we finally got our drinks it took about 30 minutes before we got our food. I ordered the steak and biscuits and the biscuits were all raw inside. So I sent it back and finally got corrected food about another 30 minutes later & we had to leave. Got all my food to go immediately and they did not want to comp my meal. Management doesn't know how to run a restaurant. We came in just before 4pm and were told we could not be seated without a reservation. I asked what the wait would be and the hostess said she didn't know what the wait would be, just that she was told not to seat anyone without a reservation. Half the dining room was empty, as it was before 4pm. This is not how you run a restaurant. If Stoney River doesn't want business, I'm happy to go elsewhere. read more

This is possibly the best fancy restaurant we have gone to in the Huntsville/Madison area. Everything about the experience from the food to the service, even the ambiance was perfect. All of the staff were extremely kind. The poppyseed rolls and honey butter they serve are INCREDIBLE. Tasted like french toast! We also got the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer and loved it- perfectly made. We got the bistro chicken and the tuscan chicken for our entrees and both were fantastic. The garlic whipped potatoes are truly one of a kind. We ended with the four layer chocolate cake (a huge slice!) which was delicious. Definitely recommend!! read more

This was our first time dining here and I picked up a business card at the front desk to remember the name of the place while we waited for a greeter to seat us. The greeter came and as she was escorting us to our table she asked if we would like make a complaint. I thought I heard her wrong so I asked her to repeat what she said and she repeated the same question to which I answered that we were fine. The service was very good but the food was EXTREMELY salted, so bad in fact we returned the mostly uneaten food. A supervisor came to us and inquired and we told him the problem. Service was good, but the table arrangements were awkward. The end of the table was against a wall with a partition on one side. The waitress couldn't reach all of us. The a/c was on and blowing directly on my head, with no way to get away from it. I ordered the coffee soaked filet and loaded baked potato. Steak was very salty and the potato was lukewarm. Took a long time to get our food---sat down at 5:45 and got food at 7:00. Such a downer for me as it was a birthday dinner and I felt bad that my daughter and son-in-law spent $$$ on something that I didn't enjoy (I lied and said it was delicious). Stoney River is open. I visited yesterday and I am extremely disappointed. 1. The waiter said they serve lemonade so I ordered an Arnold Palmer. Another server offered to bring a refill; since that Arnold Palmer wasn't good, I told her I would like lemonade. She said "I'm sorry, we don't have lemonade!" so I got a Sprite. 2. The spinach dip was cold upon delivery so the server replaced it. 3. The meatloaf sandwiches were warm but the mashed potatoes and corn souffle were cold. We were "done" at that point so we decided NOT to send our sides back. 4. The free rolls were the only hot food items we got. Stoney River has got to get it together! I know they can do better! My wife and I are snow-birding and have been in Madison since November. We anxiously waited for the opening of Stoney River Steakhouse restaurant. We finally got reservations for four and I am sad to say that we were very disappointed. We ordered the Mahi, the Flounder (market fish) and two Ribeye steaks (one medium and one medium well). The Flounder and the medium Ribeye was delivered to us cold (fish, steak and rice). We informed the waitress and she apologized and had new meals cooked. A manger came to our table and also apologized. The medium well Ribeye was also over cooked but wasn't sent back. When the new meals came, the Flounder was replaced with Mahi. At this point, two of us had finished dinner and we didn't want to send anything back again. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable of the food and how it is prepared. That is the reason for the two star rating versus a one star. For a Steakhouse, Stoney River didn't meet our expectations. read more
