Nice cozy party atmosphere in here
Doug B.

Great place for a party! The service was top notch and the food was delicious. We had my retirement party here for 35-40 people and it was cozy and comfortable for everyone. The charcuterie platter was enormous and filled with Pancetta, many cheeses, fresh fruit, and summer sausage with crackers of all shapes and sizes. The brisket was tender, and pulled chicken was perfect. The macaroni and cheese was spectacular! One compassionate thing our server did was to bring out nice plastic to go containers with lids for our team to load up on what remained to take some home. We had excellent care and service the entire night. Lots of draft beer to pick from and they had a few good bourbon selections. We all really enjoyed the night here. Try it you'll like it!

Korean Burger with side of French Fries

Decided to tried this place for the first time on Friday night. The food is delicious. We ordered a Korean Burger with fried egg and kimchi, and a Hawaiian Burger, they were cooked perfectly. The cheese steak is delicious as well. We ordered an Orange Crush and Peach Mule for the drinks. We sat by the bar outside, the bartender/server did a great job with the service. She was friendly and tentative. We will back again for sure.

My family and I came here this past weekend to try something new, which I found via OpenTable. It was in a beautiful setting, which was setback in a secluded area. There was a driving range, a mini golf course, and a barn where they conduct events. Upon arriving, there's a huge parking lot. I would give it a 3.5. The staff was incredibly friendly and we were quickly seated upon our reservation time. They had live music in the main room. We were sat in a booth that was spacious. However, there was a table about 1-1.5 ft. away making it a bit difficult to get out of our booth, especially because there were people sitting there. The server was super nice and did a great job answering all of our questions since we had never been there before. We ordered drinks, which came quickly! However... our major issue was that it was in a plastic cup. Felt very cheap and just wasn't the best impression. We ordered the wings and Brussels to start. The wings were excellent and cooked perfectly. I loved the Brussel sprouts and the lemon vinaigrette that they were tossed in. However, there was no "shaved" Parmesan on them. Even still, they had great flavor. We each got a cup of the chowder and it was fantastic! It had excellent flavor and came out hot. The boys loved their kids meals and the portions were bigger than most kids meals. The fish and chips was awful. The breading was bland and just didn't love the texture. It also wasn't cooked all the way so we opted to not eat it. We upgraded to the truffle fries and they were some of the worst truffle fries I've ever had. Very oily and just lacked flavor. Overall, I would come back and try some more items on their menu. I think the prices were good given the portions we received. Service was excellent and we'd love to check out the mini golf.

Tuna Tataki Flatbread

This place is hit or miss for me. I've been here more times than I can count and you never know what you're going to get. The patio and casual ambiance is what brings me back. The location is perfect - accessible within about 20 minutes from just about anywhere in Lancaster. Plenty of outside seating and waiting areas, the garage door opens to bring the outside in and you can even mini golf while you wait. Often times on the weekends they have live music. This was my first visit back since COVID and I was actually surprised at how much the menu had changed. The salad options have been paired down and the entrees were much more elevated and the prices have increased. Despite that, the Tuna Tataki Flatbread was probably the best meal I've ever eaten here! Different than there usual bar food and very well executed. The tuna tasted fresh, perfectly rare, the soy ginger glaze added just a taste of sweetness cut by the pickled shallot and wasabi creme fraiche. My one suggestion, which has been the one constant, I wish the craft beer menu was more robust.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!

Big Sigh... An attempt to create something good, unsual, but…read morenot only falls short in doing so, the inflated prices were enough for you to rethink your groceries for the week. Maybe what I smelled upon walking inside Mad Chef, were hops; I'm unsure. There was a lingering, unpleasant scent (hay/old peanut shells, an earthy staleness). When my food arrived, the scent dissipated. I purposely took a picture of the fish, on my fried fish sandwich, to illustrate what $17 and some change, looks like - very thin. The fish fry was tasty, slightly undercooked, soft crusted and soft bun, fresh condiments and those "pickles" were stellar. They were the best part of my meal. I would seriously purchase a jar of those pickles. Was wary of how hot honey would mesh with a pepperoni pizza, but surprisingly, the sweet heat and the savoriness of the pepperonis, worked well together. The only miss and it's a pretty big "miss," was the paper thin, tasteless crust, acting only as a vehicle to hold the toppings. Suggest you improve the crust and then, you'll have a stellar pie. Loved the peach bread pudding with brown sugar ice cream, but once again, for the price; the portion was skimpy. Liked the touch of homemade whipped cream, but it was overly whipped (stiff and tasteless), making it actually, impalatable.

They do this mystery beer thing which is just a cheap beer but it's fun and feels on brand for the place. Food wise the beef tips are the move. I would honestly go back just for that. But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.
