He says it like it is, a 'no-bullshit' kinda guy. So when your talking price for granite countertops, a vanity, shower surround, fireplace hearth & surround or whatever you may need...you won't find much haggling going on. That's why customers & contractor's alike love him and he gets repeat business. One of the most genuine business owners you will likely ever meet - his character and witty charm is unforgettable, and just a really personable guy overall.....I like to call him 'joeybaggadonuts'...(get what I'm sayin?). This is a small outfit - only a couple fabricators & installers, and they do quality work. He only uses top stone importers, inspects every slab (no fishers, imperfections, cracks) seams are flawless and has a good selection of remnants in his warehouse for smaller jobs, so you don't have to waste $$$ on extra material you don't need...unless you want to, of course. I've used Joe for various side jobs and personally for my parent's kitchen and vanities. There was a little hitch with the undermount sink, but he quickly took it off the balance, no drama to deal with & this speaks volumes on how this guy runs his business and takes care of customers. He serves the Chicagoland area (city & burbs) and even parts of WI. His crew is pretty creative too...there's virtually nothing they cannot accomplish with stone. When we started our renovation project I looked on yelp for a granite installation company. When it came time to actually get the counter top installed my husband received a recommendation from friends of ours, but I was starstruck by the solid 5 star rating JC granite had, and I insisted that we needed to get quotes from each (that's never a bad idea anyway). I was not home when Julio came to measure on a Sunday (A day or two after the original time we agreed on...he flaked out). He said he would get the stone warehouse information to my husband. By Wednesday/Thursday I hadn't heard so I called. His rational was that we were not going to go look at stone until Saturday, and he had been very busy so he figured he had some time to spare with getting us that information. I'll give him that, I believe him. After going to the stone-mart I sent him an e-mail on the first of the month with our choices. (We wanted to know the price difference before choosing). He immediately responded asking me to call him, so I did right then. I AGAIN gave him our stone choices. (This wasn't a big deal but I want to emphasize it...). He then called back 10 minutes later asking if we had chosen a stone color. (As in, "Wait...I forgot to see if they had picked a stone color.) I actually thought maybe this was a joke. But I provided him the information again. I e-mailed him on the 3rd asking if he was able to get the pricing. His response: "I need stone color." The stone color I e-mailed and told him over the phone twice within 20 minutes of each other? (Three times total within an hour time span) I responded back on the 3rd that I provided this information three times. I got my quote 3 days later on the 6th. We had already decided that we would go with the friends recommendation. He hadn't been anything but professional, and prompt. ....His quote was lower than Julio's on top of that. Now, I can say nothing on his stone cutting abilities. Only on his interaction with a potential customer. I honestly do believe he was busy. But there is something to be said for just telling the customer you can't handle the business right now. If he could get the stone choices 3 times in one hour and still not think he has it, that's not quite the attention to detail I would hope for/require for my project.

We live in a high-rise, and, for example, they communicated with the HOA so we didn't have to (insurance, freight elevator, loading dock, etc). Great experience overall, haven't had another re-modeling project done in such a professional and (to us) easy way.

When StoneTek installed our new kitchen counters about 3 yrs ago, they had a remnant piece that…read morewould fit into our laundry room. It was laser measured. We made it clear that the counter had to be lifted at anytime if a repair was required on the washer or dryer. Upon install, they glued the counter down. Shortly thereafter, they had to remove the glue. Since the wall was damaged at that point, they tried to cut the stone down some. We just had to lift it again yesterday and now the wall has to be repaired again.... And I need to find someone to grind it down. I reached out to them another time in the recent past about it still not being the right size, but didn't get a response.
