Dr. Thai has been our pediatrician since my 14 year old was a baby. He's seen both my girls since the first check up. We were going to see him since he had his previous office here in Frisco. Things we love as a family: Dr. Thai's humble attitude towards the parents and the kids. There are very few doctors that take the time to listen and to explain in a understandable manner to those who do not know about medicine. He sits down asks about our latest vacations, jobs, moves, etc. He even has an open mind when dealing with teenagers, now that we have one, he took the time to talk to her and provided her with options about dealing with teenage issues. We've even seen him outside the office and he's the same cool, laid back humble guy. I also like his nurses. They are so sweet and they know my girls even when I call on the phone they know who am I talking about. I love the fact they will see your kids the same day if they are sick. Plus they have extended their hours and even open on Saturdays. We also appreciate the fact that he's always been the kind of Dr that likes to be on the safe side. He rather be thorough and have the kids get some extra tests, blood work or scans to rule out any major problem. Which for me that means a lot because as a mom all we do is worry about our kids. Another thing I love is his after hours on-call phone service. No matter the time you call and he will call you back and tell you what you need to do and give you a piece of mind until the next day. His office always has available parking, it's pretty looking, clean and organized. It has many room to see many patients plus they keep up to date with computer charts instead of folders/papers. Now you can sign in with an iPad in the front desk. Each room is decorated by painted murals of exotic animals to attract the children. They have a bathroom with a changing table and they even provide diapers and wipes for the little ones. They also have the waiting area divided by sick/non sick children. Now this is the only issue: the waiting. Yes it's a long wait. Partly because he does takes his time with all the families, which I really appreciate. So I already know that when I go I'm going to be there more than an hour. But since I love everything else I don't really care waiting because I know my girls are going to get the best care possible. Also I know I am waiting because he is with other patients and not just because he is out of the office or simply attending other matters besides his patients. I know everyone else is getting his attention and care that he's so famous for! This is the reason I will bring my oldest to see him until she turns 18 . We love Dr. Thai! read more

This is one of the best pediatricians I know. Dr. Thai is very knowledgeable, professional, and excellent in quality care. He does not just tell you anything to rush you out of the office. He has a genuine concern, compassion, and thoroughly explains everything to the patient/family. I don't know why he has such low reviews; he was phenomenal to us. The office staff that we encountered were good. One lady didn't seem certain about everything (she may have been new), but another lady stepped in and was very pleasant and friendly. read more

While most of the staff is friendly, and the doctors are knowledgable, the wait time to see a doctor, with an appointment, was extremely long. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because everyone has busier days than others, but this was consistently a problem. Was here over a year ago and loved it, but unfortunately had to switch insurances that didn't cover this place. We never truly got the same care anywhere else. Fortunately, insurance switched again and we're able to see Nicole Lynch, a nurse practitioner. She was wonderful...did a thorough examination, was very knowledgeable, and listened attentively to our concerns. So happy we could get covered here again, because we know our children will receive top notch care. read more

Dr. Thai is very konwledgeable and he explains everything in detail so I can understand what to expect or what is going on with my baby. He is caring too. The wait time is still long especially when you come for a sick visit. The last time I went, I met a different doctor...dr. Hawk? I was a little frustrated to see the doctor touching my baby's skin covered by hives without wearing gloves because the doctor's finger nails were so so long, sharp and yellow. Sorry. Be prepared to wait and wait and then wait some more. We've been faithful patients of Stonebriar Pediatrics for 4 years. My most recent visit (a well check visit scheduled 1 year in advance), my son and I waited 40 minutes in the lobby and another 40 minutes to see the doctor. By the time the doctor arrived in the room, my four year old son was anxious and unhappy. By the time the nurse arrived with the vaccines, it had been an 1hr 40 minutes since our arrival time. This is not a unique situation. Wait times have gotten progressively worse each time we visit the office. I am searching for a new pediatrician who has respect for parent's precious time. read more

This is the way a pediatric practice should be run. For starters, Dr. Thai is fabulous- I don't think it gets any better. He is highly knowledgeable, thorough, kind, understanding and he doesn't push medicine unnecessarily. His office is so efficient and the staff is very friendly. You may have a little bit of a wait (especially for well child visits), but he always takes his time and answers any and all questions when it's your turn. If your child is truly ill, they almost always find a way to make sure that they're seen that day. This pediatric practice really is a first time parents dream. Today was my second and last visit to Stonebriar Pediatrics. Having just moved here, I went on the recommendation of a friend. However, as mentioned by others, the wait time for an appointment is ridiculous. Both times I've been in the office, I've seen people go to the front desk to complain about the wait. Twenty minutes out front, then an hour in a small room with two boys under the age of two is a prison sentence! This was a well check scheduled a month out, not a same day sick appointment. I am now a stay at home mom, but if I had to put up with this while I was working, I would be furious. Who can take a whole day off just for one measly well check?!! Dr. Thai is fine, but not the most knowledgeable or personable physician I've met. His staff is just about as friendly as they have to be and no more. The patient rooms don't seem very clean; I certainly wouldn't want my child playing with the bedraggled books stashed in one corner of the room. It is very easy to get an appointment; I'm assuming because the office overbooks, hence the wait time. Bottom Line: DFW is just too big of a place to have to put up with a sub par pediatrician. Dr. Thai is a knowledgeable, caring, and friendly physician. I feel comfortable with my child's well being and health in his hands. However, recently, I've noticed that despite having an appointment, his wait times are increasing substantially. The nurses call you into the back room late, and once you're in the small room you wait even longer. I recently took my little girl there and waited for over 45-50 minutes to see the doctor. Despite the wait, the only doctor that I would see in this practice is Dr. Thai. I had the misfortune of taking my daughter to see Dr. Haq once. She was horrible and I swore that never again would I see her. Dr. Haq was very cold, detached, and couldn't get out of the room fast enough. Being a first time mom, I had a few questions and concerns, but Dr. Haq made me feel rushed and genuinely seemed disinterested. Her bedside manner was lacking and her overall demeanor was arrogant and condescending. Overall, I go to Stonebriar Pediatrics due to their close proximity to my house and for Dr. Thai. read more

Finding the right pediatrician can be such a difficult and emotional process, but we were fortunate to find Dr Thai and his staff before the birth of our first daughter. Now two years (and another baby) later we are so happy with our choice. We have absolute trust in their decisions which is a must for us. If you are looking for a pediatrician in the Frisco/Plano/NDallas area, this is the practice. We moved here 3 years ago and switched pediatricians after reviewing many in the area & I drive out of the way to go here. Here are a few points to consider: 1- This is a locally-run and owned practice, not a conglomerate or franchise. 2- Having two children, we have visited this office many times over the past 3 years for sick and well visits, using both same-day and scheduling ahead appts. Dr. Thai is very knowledgeable. In fact, he spent more than 40 minutes with us during one visit to talk about some concerns we had for our daughter. He also requested a separate parent meeting, which we did and he was very thorough in his diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr. Haq is a blessing. She is the first pediatrician who has asked my child direct, yet simple questions to get answers I was unable to get. She also contacted me the day after seeing my child to check in on them. 3- Dr. Haq, Dr. Thai and PAs give antibiotics carefully and sparingly; they treat the whole child and not just a symptom. 4- Saturday hours. Yes, I said hours on Saturday!!! 5- ***One of my children has sensitivity issues, and finds it difficult to go to the doctor, but the staff knows this and works to make it quick and easy for her. Both PA's also do a fantastic job, and also have called me directly the day after seeing my children to check in. These are two examples of care that you cannot buy.
