Had a great experience here last night. Service was great, food tasted great, drinks were tasty ! We got the grilled octopus (a favorite of ours) and it tasted great! We also had the salmon and rib eye. Both came with a side and a salad. Both entrees were great and cooked well. The clientele was a nice crowd. They had a lot of options on the menu. They do offer a gluten free pizza but I did not try it. Def recommend this place and recommend the strawberry jalapeño margarita ! read more

Stone Tavern - Salmon and garlic mashed potatoes - Pizza Near Me - Alpha, New Jersey

If I could give this place a negative star rating I would!!! I ordered a ribeye steak and after 20 minutes was told sorry we are out of steak. My daughter and husband ordered burgers and they each got the right bun but wrong burger. Management and waitress were like we have a large party and the only option the manager offered was free dessert. Why would I want dessert when I have even had dinner!!! Then paid 100 dollars for incorrect / bad food!!! Don't stop here drive to a better place!!! read more

This is my absolute favorite restaurant!!! A local restaurant with GREAT service! Servers/Bartenders are great and always efficient; happy & very polite. Food is absolutely tasty & amazing!! Amy & Steve's priority is to make their customers happy. They offer the best quality. Karaoke Thursdays are so much fun!!! Great place to hangout, chill, or go out on a date. Do yourself a favor & visit this lovely restaurant when you're in the Phillipsburg area. Hiighly recommended! Definitely a lifetime customer! read more

Stone Tavern - a glass of whiskey and a glass of lemonade - Pizza Near Me - Alpha, New Jersey

From the two times that I've been there and my friends consensus, The review is not good. The place is way over priced. For lunch... two salads, a shimp cocktail one drink, . With tip it was over $80 I wouldn't be complaining if it was good. They're not gonna make it through winter if they keep this up read more

White Castle or Wawa or Walmart is your best bet before coming here. My partner and I came on Friday night. After waiting about 30min our food came in pieces. I ordered the salmon, sweet baked potato and garlic spinach. Salmon very bland, no seasoning and it wasn't wild caught. Sockeye salmon is the only wild caught salmon. Spinach was ok littler watery. My partner ordered filet mignon medium. The steak didn't look like a filet Mignon and it was cooked all the way. Dry. Waste of time and money. They did take off the steak and the waiter we had was vey nice he had been on the job for 2 weeks a and tried everything he can do it make it right but the food was just horrible. I never write reviews but i just had to. You would think this place is good from the outside but inside was dirty floor wasn't swept. They sat us at a dirty table it was just a mess. Don't waste your time. read more

Visited for the first time last night. My wife and son have been there while I was away. First of all the environment is way better than when it was the lube. Darker, nice bar and better acoustics. They have a large craft beer selection, but unfortunately nothing I was crazy about. They need to get some Invertase, Sunken Silo and Czig for locals. Had the blue burger, was very good. Roll was not huge, just enough to keep it together. Could use an upgrade on the fries. Fresh cut would be awesome. My wife had some pizza with arugula on it and she enjoyed that. read more

The reviews worried me but we finally tried it. Sat outside at the bar. Food was very good. Beats the shit our of Applebees and the pricing is not ridiculous like others would lead you to believe. The kitchen still has a rough tine getting orders out, timely, and accurate but, be patient. Owner could be a bit more personable. Willing to give them another shot. read more

Tried the stone tavern last night and we won't be coming back. Our waitress was nice, but not particularly attentive. The food overall was bland or overcooked completely. Unfortunately the worst part about it was when we brought this to the managers attention we were highly displeased, as he was not apologetic and his solution was to take 20% off of, ONE, SINGULAR, entree. Not worth the money spent. read more

Food was Ok , but they charge a fee for using a credit card, and up charge to grill some onions for the hamburger, which already has onions. If you ordered the next level burger with grilled onions and bacon they would not credit you the bacon. There whole approach just causes you to be pissed off. Is this a sign they are not doing well. We will not be coming back. read more

I like the clean vibe when you enter the restaurant. The restaurant wasn't that busy but it did took awhile for us to even get a drink. I ordered lobster ravioli and it was really creamy but I think it could be better taste wise. I was told beforehand that the waiter/waitress tend to bring wrong order to your table and it did actually happen. But that is not my problem. Overall we enjoy our family lunch here. read more

Had a birthday dinner here. Made a reservation for 18 people and the owner didn't believe 18 people were actually coming. Unprofessional. Weird vibes whole time, owner kept peering over at us while we sat a table with no food menus for the first 30 mins of being there. Getting a drink was a challenge on its own, having to reorder some multiple times, and some people even just got up and went to the bar. Not the waitresses' fault though, it was one waitress for 18 people. Should've been more prepared (again why I made the reservation). The icing on the cake was when someone ordered sweet potato fries and just got a sweet potato. Lol. Have not heard any good things about this place and have had multiple friends get food poisoning from it. Unfortunately, will not be going back. Also the google maps phone number is not even the right number. You have to click into the website and you can find it there. read more

Great interior. Positive upscale change from the prior restaurant. Service... 1 star Sat at the bar, received first drink. Was slow rolled for second round. Another couple sat 10 minutes after us, left after 15 minutes... bartender was too backed up trying to cover the bar and make drinks for the restaurant. I understand being short staffed. As an owner/manager you then need to only seat people that your bar/wait staff can handle . Still waiting on food... will update after that arrives...... Never received my salad before or with my meal. On the food side, halibut was great, risotto was great as well, both worth a 5 star review. Wife's chicken sandwich and fries were also very good. The food is why I gave this review a 2 star, and wasn't 1 star. Charged .50 for side of honey mustard for sandwich, yet never received my salad... with honey mustard dressing. Lackluster experience tonight, first time for us having dinner here. The few times we've stopped mid-day for drinks, the service/experience was nothing but great. read more

Nice spot. Clean. Bartender and wait staff did a great job. Great burger and nice selection on tap.

The ambience is nice. Very factory like. Tables arent crowded together. Server was very accomodating, almost too accommodating. She did refill our drinks without us having to ask. We both had pasta dishes. He had the carbonara. Sauce was very thick and really rich. I had this burrata vodka penne dish. My question is how do you eat a pasta dish with a thin sauce served with penne? Honestly, it hasnt improved too much. Ceasar salad was great but only because the server put extra parmesan in it. I want to love this place but I dont. read more

Food was pretty good. Our server was great (baddie) but he seemed fruity but that's not my problem. They should give that man a raise. The first time I came here the service was terrible and they gave our pizza to the wrong table 3 times but they have gotten much better since. read more

Solid menu and service. Food is good, but not spectacular. I recommend the flatbread pizzas. Big reason to visit is the patio seating in nice weather. read more

My wife and I went for lunch - 1st time . There must be 20 EMPTY tables . The host seats us literary next to the kitchen and wait staff station - I looked at this guy and told him if I wanted to eat in the kitchen , watch the dirty dishes go in and out and the musical symphony of banging glassware I would have made a reservation for that spot . With almost every table vacant why would you seat us here ? Looked at me like I wasn't speaking English. The server was very professional (Jessy ). The burger was excellent The place is filthy - it took 5 tries to find a clean chair - crumbs , smears of food , found a dried onion etc The floors - OMG ! Looks like it hasn't been swept in days - seriously it's not acceptable . I recognize your a Tavern but your prices are that of a top restaurant. Clean up your act and use some common sense when seating customers. Steven & Robin Tarnoff Branchburg NJ read more

Was at the store and had skipped lunch so I was hungry. Kept it simple and just ordered a cheese burger No lettuce, medium, Swiss cheese and red onions. Like I said I was hungry so when I got the burger and bit into it I realized it was , not Swiss , had lettuce and jalapeños , avocado and was medium rare. So I just shut up and ate it. BUT I will never go back to a place that cant get a simple order correct Sorry, big disappointment. read more

Meh, not impressed with the food or the wait. Wings were blah. I guess I was hoping for wings as good as the Quaker steak that used to be there. Not for nothing but the pricing is too high as well. We don't mind paying $50 a plate if the food was good but being is it wasn't anything special, and being it's located in the poverty stricken area like Phillipsburg, the thought that this business would thrive where nothing else does is shocking to me. Here's phillipsburg's top businesses. Shoprite. Walmart, chik fil A., and a hospital. Everything else is dying. read more

Honestly.. Not good. Atmosphere was very nice but didn't enjoy the food. Got a chicken parm meal and there was about a tablespoon of sauce on the pasta and I hate dry pasta. (Wish I took a picture.) and didn't really enjoy the chicken but maybe that's just my opinion. Another kicker was that my wife ripped her pants on a nail sticking out of the booth, wasn't expecting anything for free but not even an offer of a free drink or anything. If so the $20 tip would have been a $50 for the good service. Unfortunate for the server we didn't receive any drink/dessert or anything for the inconvenience. read more

I went with my wife and 2 kids we had pizza and I ordered the lamb it came with some mint dipping that my wife informed was normal first time trying it gotta say it was refreshing but I just like the lamb as is but still worth a try. Very surprised at not only the service but the food was good and the menu was wide ranging. I'll go back. The only small negative was the surcharge for using a credit card. I know why they do it but I haven't seen that in this area. read more

Nice decent place to have the drinks and spend the quality time with friends and family. The Veggie Pizza is 10/10. It's well cooked and tastes amazing. They should have some options in their appetiser's . The service is great. read more

The place is nice. Good spot to have a casual dinner with family. Been there a few times and will be going back.

Great food and really good service we order food at lease once a week & has never been disappointed.

Thank you Brianna that waited on us she was helpful and great service . Nice place also .

Excellent dinner as always at Stone Tavern tonight! The calamari appetizer was perfectly cooked and tender. The burgers are the best around! Our waiter Tom was attentive and very friendly! This is our go to spot after a long day at work! read more

Finally a decent place in the area! Places needs some aesthetic inside. I really was impressed by how many beverages they have on tap. Prices are average, not the best I've seen. Food is pretty good! read more

The staff is very friendly, they could not be nicer. The burgers are unbelievable cooked right every time. I've tried the stuffed mushrooms and could not taste any chorizo. The house salad was very fresh however for $11 you'd think it would be more than a few cucumbers and a few cherry tomatoes. I had the ribs they were supposed to be dry rub. They came lather in barbecue sauce. They weren't bad they just weren't what I was expecting. All in all I would suggest burgers, hands-down. read more

Id prefer zero stars but Yelp wont allow it. Went in on a Friday night with my husband and son. We were seated rather quickly and after a few minutes the waitress took our drink orders. 10 minutes later our drinks arrived and she took our dinner orders. Nearly 30 minutes went by and our entrees were delivered to our table. No salad, no soup. Waitress was sweating profusely and seemed confused or detoxing, she apologized and left. A few minutes later she returns with a 2 soups and a salad. We were already eating our entrees so we refused one of the soups. Everything was cold and mediocre at best. After we were done eating we couldn't wait to leave so she brings our check and tells us she took off the drinks for out trouble. We only had three sodas. While we were waiting, we got a chance to take in our surroundings. Walls were baron and bland. The room was loud and echoey, like a school cafeteria. My husband noticed walls plumbed for switches or outlets , but not finished. I know they opened quite a while ago but it seemed unfinished. Also while we were there, a woman came in with her dog, service dog? Im not sure, but the owners wife seemed more interested in petting the dog than running the restaurant. The next day I messaged the restaurant to share my experience rather than blast them on social media. 2 days later, I received a response. A heart emoji. Wow! Yes, a . What a way to listen to your customers. We wont be back, nor will we recommend them. We looked forward to having a good local restaurant, this wasn't it. read more

Bad food. Came out cold and bland. Had to send it back several times. Better options in the area for sure

Went out last month with my mother and boyfriend. Had to wait for a table, no big deal. But to have to ask the waitress if our appetizer is ever coming out shouldn't have to happen. We received one of two apps. Second never came and we were billed. My mothers main dish was a salad that came 15 min after we received our food. Server was aweful. Food was ok. Will not be back. Many other tables were having issues. read more

The staff was really sweet but the food was not great. The fries were not cooked all the way and tasted freezer burned. The salmon had no seasoning and was dry and over cooked. The southwest burger was fine but I wouldn't order it again. The spaghetti and meatballs tasted like the sauce came straight out of a can, nothing special read more

Just horrible. The owner iF he's around is just not going to give you the time of day unless you tell him his crappy restaurant is awesome. He takes advantage of his staff. You know, some of his staff are absolutely spectacular. But they'll see the light and leave . Shame on him for the way he treats his staff, AND his customers. This venue will fold as his at least 5 different businesses. Sucks for him, but I'm shaking my head, for all the employees that gave him their all. He's not a good man. read more

We stopped on our way home to New York at this Resteraunt for a quick bite. The waitresses were friendly they even brought my little dog a bowl of water we sat on the patio. I was nervous from the reviews but the food was good. I had the coconut shrimp and my husband had a chicken sandwich. My husband used to be a cook and we both agreed the food was good, cooked well and there were no issues. Nice place to eat , friendly staff would eat again if we were in the area. read more
