The weather was perfect, so the four of us opted to eat on the lovely patio. We all enjoyed our leisurely Saturday lunch. Three of us ordered pizza, each a different kind, and they were all excellent. Thin crust with plentiful toppings. One was on the gluten-free cauliflower crust, and my friend said it tasted better than most other cauliflower crust pizzas she's eaten. One of the guys ordered the French hamburger and fries and said it was just as he liked. Ate every bite. The pizzas were filling, and all three of us took slices home. Our waitress was efficient and had a sense of humor. Not a big dessert selection, so we didn't opt for any. But the beer and wine selection was very good. read more

As a native, I try to visit local restaurants and businesses. Stone Soup did not disappoint. Place was clean, staff was extremely courteous and the food was wonderful. Took guests that were staying with us and everything ordered from pizza, salad, soup, etc. was great! We enjoyed our meal so much that we bought food to go to enjoy another meal at home. Worth the trip! read more

Apple Maps listed this place as a suggested lunch place along our route from Myrtle beach to Asheville, and it DID NOT disappoint!!! Sooooo good! Pizza! Soup! Quesadilla! Even if you are too full for dessert, get it TO GO! the peanut butter pie and the key lime pie are sooooo awesome! read more

Such delicious food. Never had a bad meal here. Service is good. A little pricey but worth the quality. Ambiance is alright.

The.food is high quality at a reasonable price. The Brussels and the ahi tuna are amazing!! I love the laid back , friendly atmosphere. I've been twice and will definitely go again. It's a must try! read more

Great place to grab a bite after a horse show or for a nice place to grab a drink with friends. I love the look and feel of this resturant with all of the equestrian decor or the walls. The chicken corn chowder is the best soup I have had in a very long time. I could go on and on but to end I just want to say give this place a shot. Oh yea, they have an awesome outdoor area! read more

The food here is great. We love this restaurant but the hours aren't great. They open late for lunch and close early for dinner. We were turned away for dinner at 7:45. read more

Had the stone burger with a soup and half sandwich. Meat was cooked perfectly. Absolutely fantastic taste. The sauce adds a mighty touch to an already great burger. The BLT sandwich was also stellar, chicken was well prepared and seasoned. The beef and potato soup was also delicious. Overall great place if you're looking for quality food. Has a really nice home-like vibe all throughout and service was notably quick. High recommend if in area. read more

Very nice small upscale casual restaurant with a variety of eclectic choices and excellent pizza! Tables are spaced apart well for social distancing. Masks are required to enter the restaurant. They also have pre-prepared entrees frozen that you can take home. We got two and can't wait to try them. read more

As locals we are so lucky to have this gem nearly right in our own backyard :) We love bringing our friends and clients who are in town visiting us to Stone Soup- we always feel right at home with all the horse related items and photos on the walls. The service is great, the food is fresh and we always have a wonderful meal here ! The deserts are quite good too!! Our favorite appetizers are the artichoke dip (which is amazing!) and fried green tomatoes - we always look forward to dining at Stone Soup - read more

My introduction to Stone Soup was not the best. Although the other ladies in my group were pleased with their orders, I obviously chose the wrong item. The menu listed "Nutty Chicken Salad." Well, I love trying chicken salad at restaurants and decided to order this. The menu also listed a salad that one could add chicken or other items to. What I got was a large plate of lettuce with lots of nuts, a few grapes, dried cranberries and thinly sliced, very overdone chicken. It was not chicken salad! It was a salad with added chicken. I ate about half, ate one slice of the overcooked chicken and did not take any home. What a disappointment! And then to add to my dismay, our "checks" came on a computer screen and the only choices for a gratuity were 18% and up! I resented being told the amount I should leave as a tip! So, just beware that titles can be misleading. read more

Great food, and friendly service! I haven't been there in a long time but the food was great and we had a lovely waitress. We will be coming back soon! read more

Found this great place last night. So welcoming, great food and service was good. They sell pre made dinners also to take home

My friend and I attended the Landrum Quilt Show and decided this looked like a great place to have lunch. Location was great and we loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. There was a waiting line as we arrived a little after 12. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The waitress seated us. After around 20 minutes we noticed other folks that came in after us had their drinks and one table was already enjoying a pizza. We also noticed whoever was seating the clients seemed to be the ones bringing their drinks to the table. We tried to get the attention of the waitress that seated us - she promptly turned her head when she saw us motion her our way. We decided we would try another waitress - she too make a point to look away and to never look at us again! Finally I saw another waitress and I got up from the table and asked if she could find someone to help us. She said I literally just got here but I will get your order. She promptly bought our drinks and our food arrived a short time later. I'm giving the place a rating of 3 - mainly because our salads were not that bad. We both had the Southwestern Salad. The salad dressing was very thick and not that tasty. The shrimp was ok and the greens were fresh. It's highly unlikely that I would ever eat here again. Mainly because the service was so terrible. I wish I knew the name of the waitress that finally helped us. She does deserve some recognition, but the others need training or another job not dealing directly with people. Not recommended. read more

Fantastic! Wonderful food and service. A fun place worth good food and very cool photos on the walls.

Shrimp and grits for breakfast? Yes please! We also enjoyed an amazing lemon curd cake with the most amazing whipped cream and fresh berries. The food here is very fresh and absolutely delicious. Nice variety in the menu. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back as often as possible read more

Yummy homemade deserts the food was great. Welcoming staff here. Will be coming back.

The food was great, restaurant so cute and comfy. Great menu sure to please anyone! The only constructive criticism I have: waitstaff shouldn't smoke during shift. The smell was overwhelming as she walked by-- and you could tell she went out several times throughout my visit because just as the smell became less, the next time you saw her it was super strong again. read more

It was a wonderful dinner, beyond our expectations. Beautiful place, wonderful music, and the food is scrumptious! We were seated in the garden, and the weather was awesome! Maybe on another trip, we can try breakfast!! read more

Stone Soup - Chicken Parmesan - New American Near Me - Landrum, South Carolina

This is my favorite restaurant in the Landrum, SC / Tryon, NC area and on par, food quality-wise, with The Purple Onion up in Saluda....another top pick but a different crowd with more casual food. Stone Soup is small and has a casual elegance that pays homage to the local equestrian community with walls and walls of pictures of local riders doing their thing. Just about everything on the menu is really good. Sometimes, the pasta dishes can be a bit mundane but there are some really stellar choices here like the Asian-inspired Tuna Tower app, the steak of the day and the hazlenut / cilantro encrusted salmon. Sides are great too like the fried potatoes with parmesan and truffle oil as well as the roasted veggies. The service is attentive but can suffer when they get busy. But, it's a place to sit down for dinner and conversation...not a quick meal. Come early if you dare bring the kiddies. We usually go early or get a sitter for Thing 1 and Thing 2 or get carryout. Yes, a little pricey for the area but the $$$ keeps the riff-raff out. Oooops. Sorry. That was insensitive....didn't mean that. Oh, wait, yes, I did. It's good to have a big-city-worthy dinner place out here in horsey country amidst the plethora of really mediocre restaurants. One great story about the service at Stone Soup...my daughter was playing with a doll at the table while we were waiting on the food and caught the dolls' foot on fire from the table candle. I quickly put it out (dunking the dolls' foot in my water glass) but it did stink up the place and left my 4 YO daughter crying. The waiter realized what happened, came over to console her and offered to take the doll to the doctor, saying he would be back in a second. The doll was returned moments later with a band-aid over the "injury" on her foot.....nice touch. And, he didn't forget to bring me a fresh glass of water either. read more

We came in and ordered burgers and waited over half an hour. The people who came in after us got their food before us by at least 5 minutes. My sister ordered her burger medium and it was overcooked. When the food finally got there the fries were hot but the burgers were not. We had ordered pizza to go also and they did not put the order in. We had already been there for over an hour. We did stay and eat because we were hungry but we were really not happy with the service. read more

Our group had the burger, chicken BLT and the farmers market skillet- and all of the food was really great! The service was great, and our waitress was super friendly, helpful and quick! Would love to come back when we're in town again! read more

undercooked noodles, wrong order, tough steak, unorganized, mediocre service. this place had been excellent in the past, but it has a new name now and the quality was just not there. read more

I've eaten in dining twice and take out (both fresh and frozen) multiple times. The fresh/in dining has been fantastic food, particularly the pizzas and salads. The precooked/frozen we've had less success with and won't purchase again; just too much heaviness, butter, salt for our taste. The tipping thing is uncomfortable. You are presented with a tablet "here's your total" which I know a lot of places do for convenience and speed now, but some of us like to take a minute with the bill and figuring tip, not given "tip this" options (especially for take out frozen foods)! When dining in, I really did not plan to tip 35% (nice service, but that's a little much), but when server is standing there taking my cash and asking "do you want change?" it is intimidating and embarrassing to say, umm, yes, I do. Why not just make the change (which she had in her hand) and let me leave the tip I want? read more

Awful, run in the mill menu, FOR DINNER ! $100 check for 2 people. This place has slipped to say the least. Used to be a wonderful experience, last night I would have enjoyed Burger King more... My last time to visit this establishment. read more

Excellent service and great food! Very impressed with everything. I got the hummus plate and loved it.

One of the only places that require masks to walk from hostess stand to your table. Once you're at the table you can remove your mask. Yeah that makes sense. Sat outside, had to wait for my fries, no refills. Then they bring out a tablet to pay and the waitress literally stands over my shoulder to see what I put as the tip. So I'm pressured to tip more even though the Food was decent at best. Waitress was forgetful and half the food was late. read more

Wow! Cutest place around! What a find near TIEC!!! Great menu and farm to fork selections! We will be back!

We were just looking for a quiet place to eat. Then we came across this gem. For starters we had a roasted beet salad with fresh goat cheese and candied pecans. This was our favorite part of the meal. Everything blended perfectly. For the entrée I had trout with brown butter sauce and toasted almonds and roasted potatoes. Everything about this meal was excellent. My wife had one of the specials. Chicken Breast breaded with panko, served with pasta and tomato sauce and a caprese salad. Finished off with some bread pudding and ice cream topped with caramel sauce. Our server was great too! read more

We have enjoyed lunch here before. Dinner , however, was a 4/10 at best. To top a mediocre meal off, hostess sneaked in patron's TWO lap dogs and had the nerve to ask others sitting close by if they minded "diability dogs". Mind you, these were definitely NOT SERVICE animals. Beware the dog hair in your stone soup. read more

This was our second visit to Stone Soup. The food was just as delicious as the first time we visited. I had the shrimp tacos and my friend had the tomato pie. Both were generous portions and I cannot say which one was the better of the two. The tomato pie was flavorful, creamy and rich and the tacos were just spicy enough with shrimp so plentiful they couldn't stay in the tortilla as I tasted it. The coffee was hot and fresh and our server couldn't have been more efficient and friendly. It was a great experience and we will surely be back again! read more

What a great find a little off our beaten path! Great service and atmosphere! Fun grocery area with take home meals, bakery and unusual items. We were too full for desert but we will definitely be back! read more

Picked up takeout - my daughter eats here frequently and likes their vegetarian and vegan options. This time was disappointing. I stood at the counter for probably ten minutes with multiple employees walking by me, not asking if I needed help. The employee who did finally notice I was there was very helpful. We ordered ahead for takeout. When we got home, the Caesar salad had no dressing, the Brussels sprouts were roasted beyond recognition - they looked like a pile of charred leaves. The flavor was okay, but they were nearly inedible. The parmesan fries were literally fries with shredded Parm from a prepackaged container that doesn't melt, not freshly grated. The caprese salad was pretty good but needed a lot more basil. I'm sure it was just an off day, and I could tell by the variety of desserts displayed and prepared refrigerated and freezer meals that this is a place I'd like to try again, but only because my daughter frequents it and really likes it. read more

Nice atmosphere, staff was helpful and friendly. Food was good, my wife loved her soup. I had a fried goat cheese salad which was tasty though I feel that it could have had more goodies on it for the price. I will definitely go back though! read more
