A double back to Big Red was an excellent play. Catfish was the special today. I'll take that. A burger and tots for my wife. The waitress, Lisa, took care of us. She is a lively friendly outgoing young lady. A real "corker!" Excellent service. Great Burger, the catfish was amazing. Check the pictures. I liked the slaw. Comfortable seating. Rustic wood everywhere. Football is the theme. Next time you are in there, ask Lisa if she still likes Coleslaw.

South Fork is no longer open. Closed permanently in 2019. Excellent food and terrific service,…read moreSouth Fork delivers more than expected. The food is typical of lake country favorites but with an unexpected higher level of seasonings and preparation skills not normally encountered in small town cafes. Multiple daily specials and menu staples combine to offer something for everyone. Servers are energetic and very friendly, making sure each patron feels appreciated. The buffalo chicken sandwich, a recent daily offering, was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Fried in a light, crispy coating and topped with blue cheese crumbles on a real brioche bun the 8oz chicken breast was juicy and succulent. Fries wee fresh cut and abundant! My wife really enjoyed her Ruben sandwich on marbled rye. The strawberry walnut salad was outstanding as well. The bottom line is having a professional chef behind the menu and kitchen prep is a departure from the typical "head cook" of most small restaurants and it shows in every dimension. South Fork is closed for the winter

The server was very patient when we were ordering our food. The restaurant is very cozy and extremely clean. I felt at home and we were extremely happy with our visit. I did see one person on Yelp who continues to go back to this location and gives the restaurant poor reviews. Which makes no sense to me. If you don't like the food or service, stop going back. Plus, don't use a fake name on all the reviews . Very sad when people can't be honest and tear down small businesses because they have nothing better to do. Again, thank you for such an amazing time and food. We look forward to our next visit.
