I've been for breakfast twice and food is really good! There are not many diners here in Sallisaw. This is by far my favorite for breakfast. I suppose sooner or later I need to try it for lunch/dinner. Not much to look at inside in the staff is fairly friendly, but it is quick service. read more

Went there yesterday for our first and had the chicken fried chicken because their chicken tenders were frozen. It was a very small piece of chicken and it was not a real chicken breast but a frozen patty. The pinto beans and mashed potatoes were homemade and wonderful. The gravy was delicious! The fried okra could have been more crispy brown for my taste but I will ask for that next time. My husband enjoyed his mushroom burger and onion rings. I'll try the breakfast next time. The food is never hot if they even have it. I've ordered their special only to be told after I ordered and was waiting for at least 10 minutes to let me know they were out. Ordered a BLT and there was no bacon on it. Our server complained the whole time we were there. read more

I ordered this through door dash so I have not visited the location yet. You may order your two eggs any way you like them so I requested over medium and that's exactly what I got. The biscuits and gravy were amazing, the hasbtowns were fresh and hot. I really enjoyed this breakfast. read more

Like stepping into a movie set for anywhere USA! The decor and atmosphere is very '88. "How are you doing sweet pea!?". "Would you like some more coffee Hunny?". This place is personal and welcoming. The food is very good. This is my second visit in 3 year's traveling across the country because the pancakes really wowed me! How do they do it!? I don't know, but I will be back again. Sadly, the Blue Jay Inn & Suites stopped offering a breakfast here with a room rental, but the business, the retiree fan club with their heater-year banter, make this a real Gem right along the highway. Pancakes were edible, that's about it, waitress seemed dry and seemed like she didn't want to be there. steak was undercooked Tables weren't clean and there were crumbs everywhere on the table. There was nobody here and now I see why. I better not see this place on a kitchen nightmares episode, yet I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Pretty dang good little hole-in-the-wall diner. Can't remember our server's name (don't even know if I got it), but she was as nice as could be. Didn't seem fake about it either, just good ole southern hospitality. For 11 buckaroos I got myself an ultimate omelette with toast, gravy, and hash browns. Made with three eggs, veggies, a heap of meat, cheese, and a dash of love, this omelette was well worth the money. Stuck to my ribs and considering I had a late lunch, I'm figuring I'll be full until breakfast. I love finding little places like this. Down-home cooking served hot and real quick like. I only gave it four stars cause my wife is kind of picky. She ordered a hot ham and cheese with onion rings and mozzarella sticks. She said everything was too salty and the ranch was "chunky". Don't let the size fool you! This was our first time to eat here and we totally enjoyed our breakfast.! Their traditional eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy was so good. This is a great spot to stop for lunch/dinner if traveling I-40. A very nice gentleman who owns the motel and diner let us park at the motel and walk over. He was so friendly and welcoming. We tried the catfish special. $6.99 for a 2 piece catfish, 2 hush puppies, 2 sides. The cat fish was perfectly fried, very light coating and not greasy at all! So flaky and light. The hush puppies were huge and crispy. We picked coleslaw and pinto beans for our sides. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp. Not sweet at all. The pinto beans were some of the best beans we've tasted. Very good flavor and texture. The servers were attentive and helpful with menu questions. We brought the leftovers with us and they were just as good the next day. The place is just a small dinner off the highway, but don't be fooled by the outside appearance! The service was fast and friendly! They serve breakfast all day. They also have down home daily specials, such as beans, corn bread and fried potatoes. My other half ordered 2 eggs over medium with chicken fried steak with white country gravy, hash browns and biscuit and gravy. I ordered a single biscuit with sausage gravy and a side of sausage. Both meals were very good. The sausage was cooked just right as well as the eggs. The biscuits were light and not too big. The chicken fried steak was fork tender, but not the best one we've had in our travels. This was the best breakfast value we have found on our travels, less than $20 including tip for the 2 of us. We're on a road trip to Arkansas and wanted to eat someplace local - so we tried out Blue Ribbon. It definitely has a small town, kind of hokey style to the food but it was good. We got a breakfast burrito that was served flat and griddled, a little weird, but full of good toppings. They did forget the egg at first but then brought out scrambled eggs to add to the burrito. We also got the chicken tenders plate with mashed potatoes and green beans. The potatoes weren't instant (yay!) and were pretty good and the chicken was hand battered and very crunchy and very tasty. The chicken tenders were the best thing we ordered. Not the cleanest place but serviceable. A good option close to I-40 if you're driving through. read more

Ate here Labor Day. It was not too crowded, and was not our 1st choice. We came in from out of down, as we pass through Sallisaw several times a year, and typically stop at Charlie's Chicken or Wildhorse Mtn. BBQ. Both were closed, and we were so hungry and popped in to check out this diner. BEST IDEA EVER! there were 5 of us-- and we all were extremely satisfied! Catfish was amazing, BLT was deeeeelish, and chef salad , omelette and patty melt ... well, there were no crumbs left I assure you. DEFINITELY recommend it if you want good home cooked food ... but not greasy. read more

AOK! Greasy spoon diner food with gems like fresh, fluffy biscuits, handmade pie and crispy waffles. We didn't try the pie, but I was impressed with the waitress's enthusiasm for the baker.
