$10.55! Pancakes Eggs and Bacon
Daniel W.

Like stepping into a movie set for anywhere USA! The decor and atmosphere is very '88. "How are you doing sweet pea!?". "Would you like some more coffee Hunny?". This place is personal and welcoming. The food is very good. This is my second visit in 3 year's traveling across the country because the pancakes really wowed me! How do they do it!? I don't know, but I will be back again. Sadly, the Blue Jay Inn & Suites stopped offering a breakfast here with a room rental, but the business, the retiree fan club with their heater-year banter, make this a real Gem right along the highway. Cheers!

Chicken fried steak was tasty, as were the beans and roll. The gravy was also good, but the mashed potato's seemed like instant.

Just off I40 in Sallisaw, worth the little detour. Very clean and friendly little country diner. Good service. Both our dishes were really good.

A really nice and welcoming lady helped us with our meal!!! She is awesome and set up the tone for this very good breakfast experience! It is worth the detour from I40 to eat at this gem in eastern Oklahoma!!! Chicken fried steak is super good!!!

2 eggs, hash browns and chicken fried steak with white country gravy.

The place is just a small dinner off the highway, but don't be fooled by the outside appearance! The service was fast and friendly! They serve breakfast all day. They also have down home daily specials, such as beans, corn bread and fried potatoes. My other half ordered 2 eggs over medium with chicken fried steak with white country gravy, hash browns and biscuit and gravy. I ordered a single biscuit with sausage gravy and a side of sausage. Both meals were very good. The sausage was cooked just right as well as the eggs. The biscuits were light and not too big. The chicken fried steak was fork tender, but not the best one we've had in our travels. This was the best breakfast value we have found on our travels, less than $20 including tip for the 2 of us. We would stop again if we needed to get fueled up again.

Trivia part of table. Cool.

Nice, homey restaurant. Good basic food, cream pies for dessert. Friendly waitresses. Definitely would return if I am in the area.

The service was bad, the food was barely edible but the worst was the flies. They were swarming everything and everyone inside. Disgusting.

We had to try it! We both had the steaks, my wife having the ribeye and I had the New York strip. We both had the fully loaded sweet potato. I had the salad bar and she had the corn. Everything was incredibly tasty. The owner was very friendly unhelpful and it was fun to read up on the history of the railroad car. If we are ever back in the area, it is definitely on our list of places to visit again.

Dinner last Friday evening at the Southern Belle in Heavner, OK. The restrauant, or at least the…read moredining room is in an old, 1905 refurbished passenger car with a rich history. It provides an unique environment with a folksy vibe. The railroad car does not look as clean and crisp as their web page photo and it's been painted what appears to be a dark burgundy. It was dark and raining so it's hard to say on the color. Inside is cozy and comfortable. It's a neat venue. The menu consists of typical American comfort food, at least for the south. Three of us us ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, cream gravey and fried okra. The outlier ordered fried chicken livers with French fries and fried okra. All four of us were pleased with our meals. The chicken fry was good as were the potatoes and cream gravey. The fried okra was excellent. The chicken livers were excellent and begged for mashed potatoes and cream gravey. The French fries Ken ordered weren't very good. I think they were under cooked. We had a nice, enjoyable dinner. The service was excellent and the prices moderate
