My husband and our kids(3 & 5) made a quick stop here before heading on a hike at Multnomah Falls. It had such a cute comfortable atmosphere and the girls that worked there were super nice & helpful. We sat on a comfortable green couch and it had a homey feel. We ordered the cheddar bagel breakfast sandwiches, a latte and a coffee cake. Everything was delicious! It's rare for me to give a 5 star review but Stomping Grounds on Halsey deserves it. Being a non-local I always look forward to coming here. They have decent tasting espresso but their ambience is cozy and their customer service is fantastic! I can't express enough how great the service and staff is. Kudos to management and the staff, every single time I come there the staff is extremely friendly, they try to accommodate our every requests and do it with a smile. Keep up the great work! What a delightfully eclectic sort of place!?! I loved the place from the moment I opened the door. The place is full of people from every walk of life: students, parents with children, friends visiting, people reading or on the computer. After 2 years of living in a pandemic, this place feels like a breath of fresh air. And then there is the coffee and food!! Delicious!! I had the cinnamon rolls and French toast chai. I tried this coffee house with my family today. My son ordered the cinnamon roll and he's usually a picky eater, but he loved it. Unfortunately I didn't get an opportunity to try it because he devoured it before I knew it. My daughter ordered the lemon poppyseed scone and it was full of flavor, but left a dry feeling in your mouth. The dry was easily refreshed with the feature here; their coffee. My wife ordered the Maui mocha and I ordered their salted caramel cold brew. Personally I was not a fan of the Maui Mocha because it was a little too sweet to my liking, but my wife loved it. The cold brew however, had the perfect mix of flavor and brew; it was dangerously delicious. I left here satisfied as did each member of my family. Definitely recommend! read more

I live very close to this coffee shop and I moved to Portland about 3 months ago for work from Georgia and I love how easy and accessible this cafe is. Coffee tastes pretty good and the people are always nice and helpful. I prefer coffee shops like this instead of Starbucks because the quality of the coffee seems much better. Rude! Unbelievably Rude! and Overpriced. Sells Coca-Cola products and... Gatorade? OMG. And, located in a strip plaza/mall - not a stand alone shop. First and last time here. I stopped in, as it was one of the only cafes in this little stretch of 'road'. Soup costs about $7 USD?! Coffee drink was made ok, but overpriced - over $5 USD for a latte with non-dairy substitute. Atmosphere is a bunch of West Coasters - Different colored haired monsters frequent here. Dogs in the facility etc. For what it's worth, the space was clean. Also, had a drink in hand and had eyeballed a place to sit - one of the only places available. Guess what? Someone who had not yet even ordered a drink SAT DOWN right there. If everyone did that, then the people who actually ordered drinks and desired to sit wouldn't get a place to sit! Fits RIGHT IN with the whole "me, me, me" culture of the pseudo city, Portland, Oregon (ORE-GONE) USA. To a T. I got sandwiched in a corner where I didn't want to sit, at all. But, it was kind of a last resort. This place is located in Polly Prissy Pants "Fairview." Again, only caters to locals. I've traversed much throughout the US and beyond. Stumbled upon little towns galore in US and other countries. Most people take pride in their work, and accommodate for guests, and are extra kind and helpful etc. Here, if they know you won't be a 'regular' the service is half-arsed, and you don't get your hard earned cash back, either! so here's the deal coffee is good! way better than dunkin or starbucks, but the coffee doesn't stand out to me. Tastes same as every other coffee shop, that being said in no way am i a coffee expert. Yesssss! On a scale of 1-5, this place is awesome! Seriously though, I frequent a lot of the most serious coffee places in Portland and Stomping Grounds is right on par. If I didn't live 30 miles away, I would probably live here... I mean IN the shop. As soon as I walked in here, I felt like I could take a deep breathe and just relax. But, what about the coffee?? I have to admit that I was a little skeptical because, lets face it, I'm in Longview. Plus I noticed the "premium coffee" sign out front. Usually when a coffee shop doesn't name drop their roaster, it means they're not brewing anything that you've heard of before. After talking with the super nice barista (right before closing time too) who happened to also be the owner, I found out that they use Portland Roasting! My quiche last few x's was smaller sized, too much chewy like bubble gum cheese. It was almost tasteless n crust I use to love was Uber bland n chewy. But not in a good way. Very disappointed. Not worth it any any price imo. Service was o.k. but told they were closing in 15 mins so I would have to take it to go. I ate it in my car as others lazily sipped their tea n coffees n visited. This is hands down my favorite coffee shop in the area. I drive past 5 other shops on my way here and it's worth it. Coffee is amazing and the options for food are great. Gluten free options available. I'm dairy free and appreciate the various alternative milks. Tea options are delicious, I highly recommend Warm Hugs. Their monthly deals are always great and they have delicious seasonal drinks. The staff is amazingly kind and friendly! There is plenty of indoor seating of various sizes - couches, chairs, big tables, and small. I do all of my homework there and have never had a problem finding a seat.
