I would give them 10 Stars if I could! I called STL beds the night before I had to move as I was having an issue draining a waterbed. I was using the drain & fill kit but when I turned the water on in my bathroom sink to create the pressure to suction the water out, the pressure was too fast and was going to overflow so I turned the water pressure to medium. I couldn't tell if it was draining the bed, so I found STL online (I'm in FL), called, and got Doug. He let me know the bed would not drain at half pressure and I needed to buy a Drummond Transfer pump which I could get at Harbor Freights. I went into a panic because I needed to drain that bed as the movers were going to be at my place the next morning. STL was closing in a few minutes and I had never used the pump before. I was half in tears because where could I get help if I needed it? Doug assured me I could use the chat message link on their website even after they closed and went on to give me his personal cell number "just in case" and assured me we would get my waterbed drained that night. I hurried up, got to Harbor Freights, (Doug even recommended I check online at the HF close to me to make sure they had the pump in stock, which thank God they did!) got the pump and everything went as Doug said it would. He explained to me how to connect the pump and what to do. I did call him upon my return to let him know everything was working as it should! We originally came to check out SavvyRest's latex samples, assuming it was cheaper to buy one of their beds online versus in a showroom. Fortunately, we encountered Michael. He helped us take a more informed approached and walked us through the process of customizing our bed. He was extraordinarily patient, accommodating, and knowledgable (seriously...we joked he deserves an honorary PhD in Mattresses) throughout the entire experience. My bed was about three months old when the flimsy wooden support straps broke in the middle of the night. To say I was mad was an understatement. The company I bought it from wanted to replace it with the exact same crap. No thank you. So I did a search and came across this company and I'm so glad I did. After looking at a few different options, I landed on a metal job that looked sturdy and fairly easy for me to assemble. I literally ordered it online in the middle of the night on a Saturday. On Monday I got a confirmation email telling me it would be delivered by Thursday. I then got a follow up email with an assembly video. I watched the video and it all seemed easy enough. I ordered a handmade insert mattress for my super single waterbed frame. It was a great piece of furniture and I wanted to keep it. The mattress was to be shorter than the length of the frame and 1 in shorter on the sides so you could tuck in sheets and blankets. When the mattress arrived and I put it in the bed frame it was very tight on the sides of the frame, with no room to tuck in bedding. It was 2in too wide. I talked to Doug and spent quite a bit of time discussing the issue with him and sending him a lot of pictures to document the issue. Finally they decided to send a replacement mattress made to the correct dimensions. It arrived and fit perfectly. Doug was always helpful and worked hard to resolve the issue. The mattress manufacturer will now measure these mattresses before they are shipped for quality control. I was happy with the outcome. read more

We found out the hard way that our wooden bed wasn't strong enough to hold up our extraordinarily heavy latex mattress, two big adults, and two little kids. We needed something that could easily handle 1000 lbs. I found STL online and contacted them with questions about their products and how best to work with the unbroken parts of our bed. Needed a very heavy duty bed frame as me and my partner are big men, We have a memory foam bed which in itself is heavy.I found STL on line and called them. Joe was very helpful on the phone and assured me that the bed frame could support the weight. I got the King Steel Super Duty or Waterbed Frame - K43 K43WB, it was exactly as Joe described it to be. It arrived in the time he said and it was VERY easy to assemble, took less than 10 minutes. So far it was done it's job, not a single creak or any movement when we move on the bed. My wife and I couldn't be happier with our experience at STL Beds in Arnold, MO. We went in at 5pm on a Friday (they closed at 6) and were there over 2 hours and not once did we feel rushed or as if they wanted to close. They were so honest, up front, and informative. Everything you look for in someone to do business with. We came in not knowing much about the different types of beds aside from a little online browsing, but when we left we had a PHD in beds. They took there time and helped us find the perfect bed that compromised between my desire for firmness and my wife's desire for softness. After a little while, before we even discussed pricing, we knew we wanted to do business with this local company just bc of the way they treated us. Naturally, we favored the new latex beds which are not cheap but they worked with us considerably on the price since he knew it was way over our budget. I happened upon StL Beds while searching for an organic mattress. Why organic,you ask? I am trying to eliminate/avoid toxins that I can personally control. Many of the materials in mattresses are cause for health concerns-do your research. The organic brand I purchased is by "Savvy". It consists of 3 seperate layers of dense latex foam that are soft, medium or firm. You can mix these 3 degrees of firmness to your comfort. What I love about this is each side of the bed can be customized. We purchased a King size bed; my husband liked his less firm and chose to layer his side of the bed with firm on the bottom layer, medium in the middle and soft on top. My side of the bed is more firm; firm, medium,firm. Another great thing about StL Beds- it is a family owned business. No high pressure sales here. They are patient and helpful while you test out the different degrees of firmness- and there is a 90 day return policy (not sure about restocking fee). My husband needed to exchange 1 of his foam layers for a softer firmness and they had no problem with that. My husband and I are very happy with our purchase! read more

I've now made 3 purchases from STL Beds, Doug has helped me with all 3. When my wife and I got married we were in a rush and strapped for cash not only for the wedding but to get into a place and get our bed. Both of us are bigger people but I'm a bit larger than life at almost 400 pounds, unfortunately my weight was too much for the frame we were given and the box spring also broke. My first purchase was a new frame made for supporting a water bed but very adequate for obese people, the difference it made even with a broken box spring and our piece of crap mattress was insane. Our next purchase was going to be a box spring (it's all I've ever known) Doug talked me out of a box spring and got us setup with a forever foundation, it was easy to put together (easier than the bed frame actually) and yet again the difference it made even with this god awful mattress was incredible. Unfortunately for the 5mos we've been living in our apartment my back has hurt every single night, there are nights I go out to the living room and sleep on our oversized chair because it's more comfortable than the mattress. Today I pulled the trigger on a two sided medicoil HD 1500 a mattress made for obese people to avoid the very problems I've been having with our current mattress. I feel confident that in less than a week I'll be able to be very comfortable in my bedroom again and it's all thanks to Doug who has been extremely patient taking his time to help me via email and ship things almost entirely across the country. Doug is extremely knowledgeable and the fact that they serve the obese population makes me eternally grateful. With able assistance from Joe, we're now completely satisfied and resting comfortably every night. I was searching the web for a low profile box spring. We had just purchased a new bedroom set for our guestroom that my 87 year old Mother sleeps in when she visits. The sales person that sold us the new bedroom set also sold us what was supposed to be a low profile box spring let's just say it wasnt.
