I was using the drain & fill kit but when I turned the water on in my bathroom sink to create the pressure to suction the water out, the pressure was too fast and was going to overflow so I turned the water pressure to medium. I couldn't tell if it was draining the bed, so I found STL online (I'm in FL), called, and got Doug. He let me know the bed would not drain at half pressure and I needed to buy a Drummond Transfer pump which I could get at Harbor Freights. I went into a panic because I needed to drain that bed as the movers were going to be at my place the next morning. STL was closing in a few minutes and I had never used the pump before. I was half in tears because where could I get help if I needed it? Doug assured me I could use the chat message link on their website even after they closed and went on to give me his personal cell number "just in case" and assured me we would get my waterbed drained that night. I hurried up, got to Harbor Freights, (Doug even recommended I check online at the HF close to me to make sure they had the pump in stock, which thank God they did!) got the pump and everything went as Doug said it would. He explained to me how to connect the pump and what to do. I did call him upon my return to let him know everything was working as it should! Talk about going the extra mile for customer service and I'm not even a customer of STL. This just tells you STL is a first-class place for ALL your waterbed needs.

When we went to The Bedroom Store in May 2017, we were caught off-guard with honesty, friendliness, and actual knowledge from Bob! He helped us by answering some of our questions and told us to look around and lay around as long as we wanted. After we chose a mattress, he went above and beyond to help us set up our delivery and told us never to hesitate to call him and ask him a question and to let him know how it worked out! We asked her about this and she insisted that we asked for it. Finally she agreed to redo the paperwork and take the box spring off the order. She told us that the mattress should be delivered in no more than 4 weeks. Fast forward NINE weeks and the mattress still isn't here. My husband has called multiple times for an update and they just keep telling us they don't have an estimated delivery time. My husband called finally this week to cancel the order and Sandy HUNG UP ON HIM. Furious, I called and demanded the order be cancelled and Sandy was so rude and passive aggressive. She even had the audacity to tell me my husband was lying about their conversation. Hilarious. Order canceled. Mattress Firm will never get our business.

Extremely displeased with the Memory Foam Beautyrest mattress this particular Mattress Direct sold…read moreus less than a year ago. We were told memory foam is the best for my chronic Rheumatoid Arthritis. When we expressed concerns about memory foam creating too much heat, and making us too hot in the middle of the night, we were reassured that this particular mattress had a gel cooling agent that would prevent any of that. Fast forward nearly a year later, my arthritis hurts worst than ever when I wake up in the morning, and my partner has started developing back issues he never had before. We're both less than 40 years old, mind you. During warmer months, we sweat and get miserably hot in the middle of the night. My $500 Macy's mattress gave me more support than this. And yet, we cannot return this mattress with our "warranty" because it's not defective, per se. It looks as it did when we bought it. Now, we'll most likely be spending another $2,000 to purchase a regular innerspring mattress from a different location. (That's kind of the trick with Memory Foam, I guess. It gives no support, yet goes back to its original "look" as soon as you get up - nullifying any kind of warranty return.) I'd recommend NOT buying a Memory Foam mattress (of any sort) or shopping at Mattress Direct.

So, Thanksgiving weekend I wandered into the Better Night Sleep Center in Farmington, in a funk and overwhelmed, just trying to see what's out there. I was greeted by Gina, one of the owners of the store. I gave her a rundown of what happened and how we needed to buy several mattresses. You would think she would latch on to the "Need to buy several mattresses" part, but she didn't. She talked with me about the fire and was really kind and caring about what we were going through. After talking for a bit she showed me a few of the mattresses that would work for us, showed me their sales, and I told her I'd come back later with my hubs. That evening my hubs and I came back to look things over and quickly picked out mattresses for the kids. Gina showed us a Posh + Lavish mattress that was on sale (40% off, be still my little heart, I LOVE a good sale!) and it was like sleeping on a cloud that still supported you in every spot you needed. We had never even heard of the Posh + Lavish brand but we were sold very quickly, lol (and it truly is an amazing mattress!!). As we were shopping for mattresses Gina offered to throw in sheets for each bed (including Bamboo sheets for us, to which I am now thoroughly spoiled and will never again use a different type of sheet) as well as a weighted blanket each for my hubs and I (honestly I really think she just wanted us to be able to rest peacefully with all we had been going through, she just has that way about her). They have been incredibly kind, helpful, and understanding the whole time. Even the delivery guys had nothing but good things to say about their bosses! When the delivery men showed they refused to take away the platform bed frame and claimed they didn't do that. I called the store only to be met with "we dont do that" and that he should've explained that to us and apologized. But that was doing me any good with a huge platform in my house. So I was left with a huge broken bed frame left in my hallway with no way to get it out of my house. First, that should've been explained so we could prepare to have it taken out, second, you dont spend that much money and not have a full service experience. The sales rep should have come up with a solution out of his own pocket and immediately rectified the situation since his commission on that amount is significant. Not only will we never reccomend Mattress Firm, as a active member of the community I will and have already proactively gone out of my way telling people to spend dollars elsewhere. What a stressful and terrible experience it was to do business with them.

Shopping was fine and we were happy with what we chose. Unfortunately receiving what we purchased has been a bit of an issue. When you schedule delivery, you pick a day and the mattress will come between 8am and 7pm. You can't choose morning or afternoon, so you have to guarantee that someone has the ability to be home and available the entire day you choose. After 4pm the day before the delivery you get an automated call assigning you a 2-hour delivery window. We asked the store if we could request a more specific time on our delivery day, but apparently, it's impossible for the warehouse to arrange a route that takes people's schedules into consideration. Instead, we were advised to schedule during a work day and see what happens. Of course, we got the automated call telling us that our assigned delivery spot would be during the *only* time when nobody would be available. We couldn't even push the delivery window back an hour. Because of this delivery policy, we had to postpone delivery a week to guarantee that someone could be home during the full 11 hours. I'm disappointed that, even though we're spending a good chunk of money with Mattress Firm, the store and warehouse can't work with our schedule. Additionally, we paid extra for a mattress protector and asked for it to be delivered to the store. The store said they'd contact us when it came in, but they didn't. Instead, we had to call and ask about it. Again, I'm happy with the purchase, but post-purchase service could have been a lot better.
